I expected this to be much worse. But instead, +1
lol….perfect! +1
I don’t know what you mean, heavy and light both have male sets that show of the pecs and abdominals, it’s just medium that doesn’t. And medium lacks variation for… everything.
haha what a good surprise this topic brings.
Yeah, there was a topic a time about about more “male skimpy” sets, and I agree.
dear god, please no …funny, well written post though
yep.. good mounts and housing thread, +1
Amen. Let my dude show off his stuff +1
This was beautiful and gave me a much needed laugh this week :) ty OP. And I agree: team skimpy male armor sets 2015.
It seems that Lord Faren is the only human male (with the exception of the aforementioned warriors and guardians) that is allowed to show off his manliness. I theorize that he is secretly sabotaging all productions of clothing that would make human males more attractive, just so he doesn’t have any competition in Divinity’s Reach.
That plot is going on since Southsun Cove.

I just want to give this a +1
More skimpy outfits! Of course: also for males :P

I opened this with… concern.
But Eudaemons, you made a bunch of us smile… even if you’re just a tad wacky.
I’ll be sure to put “more skimpy male outfits” on the Escalated Topics that I send to the developers.
Or…
maybe not.
Do it. I dont even care how immersion breaking this is. This post honestly deserves it hahaha. Maybe add a facepalm mechanic to npcs for when male characters wearing it run by.
The solution to your problems, doff the armor…viola, instant display of said abs and all of your manliness if you so desire(aka, run around in your kitten ed underwear if it’s that important to you).

Ah, Gaile has fallen for Lord Faren’s bribes.
I want to point out that I just favorited this thread so I can show it to the rest of my guild.
+1, OP.
I maintain my selfish desire to preserve my vision and object to more male skin
I’m not so much for the human male here, but c’mon how about Charr ummm. . . “manliness” (if that’s the right word for a charr?) After seeing so many Charr in GW1 wearing all those skimply outfits, I gotta say they kind of look like kitty cats dressed up to play now. So if Anet does design more manliness outfits for the medium class, I would have to think the Charr would win also. (and possibly the Norn)
Yup… Female versions usualy ROCKS. But Male versions… Eww… I cry back my old Assassin’s stuff :S
+1 @ OP
Agreed! More eye candy for the ladies! Guild Wars 2 has quite a large base of female players, you know
I don’t think Gaile knows that we’re serious about this.
I cannot +1 this thread enough.

Not at all, but if that is how you feel about it I will not be looking that up anytime soon.

Male paragon armor always had a knee-length skirt and a midriff-exposing top…it was all kinds of FABULOUS. The class armor was definitely AWE-INSPIRING, but made everything else just look silly.
Fixed that for you.

lolol I see what you did there, well done
We should be able to make banana hammocks and Mango bippy shirts from all of the Christmas crap we destroy, then that time dragging garbage out of inventory would be worth something

I’ll never forget the day I was playing dead rising 3 and found the Banana Hammock costume… laughed for like 30 minutes.
Personally, I’d like to see this as well.
Not because I’m particularly interested in skimpily dressed men… but because I’m not a fan of ultraskimpy looks on my female characters, and it’s tiring to keep seeing looks on male characters that I’d love to have on a female character, but the armour that is fully covering on a male character turns out to be 90% skin on a female character.
I have nothing against skimpy looks as an option, but if any set that is skimpy for women is skimpy for men as well, then I would no longer be crying inside every time I look at a male set, think “translated to a female character that would be exactly the look I’m after” and switch to the female version and find frilly lingerie.

I’m guessing your male in real life? Do you also go blind from looking at your own body in the mirror? lol. I never get the whole guys being repulsed by other guys bodies thing. That aside +1 to more form fitting and skimpy armor.

I dont look at myself that way :o, does anyone look at themselves like that lol

Does it work this way too? Why is it always guys objecting to seeing male skin but not females saying the same. While females do object to skimpy armor on females, it’s for perceived lack of respect, not “preserving my vision”.

I for one can confirm that I am sexy naked as a male. These abs don’t lie.
wow how sexist :o lol, but yea I do think some of the female skins are beyond ridiculous in terms of skimpy design. The reason is obvious mmo’s for most of the genres history have been aimed at male gamers, and as such much of the skins are targeted towards a male audience, its really only with the introduction of WoW and GW that more and more female gamers have started getting into it

Sexist? ^^
I’ve seen numerous posts in both this forum and others where males say they make female characters because they don’t want to look at male butts while playing. But no females saying the same.
I’ve seen numerous posts where guys object to skimpy male armor on the basis they don’t want to see male skin where the implication it’s distasteful to see male skin, i.e. “they want to save their vision”. Where females object to female skin, it’s the disrespect that it implies, not that female skin is distasteful to see.
Maybe it’s sexist to report what I’ve seen……..or maybe the guys are being, hmmm, not sexist against other men but definitely something against seeing male skin where females don’t say the same.
ahhhhhh dude stop making this all serious, we trying to joke around, the sexist part was a joke ;p, and I will say I do have female friends that make male toons, usually warriors not sure why, always kinda puzzled me
my norn is a war in t3 all covered up…uh cause of the cold climate

Seriously, if you could get the armor designers to make more varied armor (more modest female options and more…entertaining? not-modest?…male options) that would be great. It feels really weird that most women in Tyria are half naked and most men are covered head to toes.
Oh, and the trenchcoats. There are way too many trenchcoats and leather pants outfits. My Charr thief is really tired of it – being covered in leather makes her fur hot and uncomfortable.

Thanks.

It’s counterbalanced by the muy macho male Paragon dance. Watch it. You can trust me. Scout’s Honor. (At the very least it will get that song out of your head)
AHHHH OMG no, the nightmares, almost forgot about those lmao, thanks for reminding me grrr

It would be cool if we could just hide the armor we don’t want shown. That way I can be in my swimming trunks on my Asura capping away with my dual pistols like a boss.

Male paragon armor always had a knee-length skirt and a midriff-exposing top…it was kind of odd. The class armor was definitely Roman-inspired, but it just looked silly.
Let’s not forget the gold plated nipples of the Sunspear and Elite Sunspear version.
Yes pleasse! Gogo Gaile, put the frog down and get cheering for topless men!
I thought he was going to break up during the holidays. ^^
I’m female and I have more male human toons. GW2 has some really attractive male faces, okay? But my warrior is a female because the Sorrow’s Embrace armor and T3 is awesome on female humans. I honestly don’t object to skimpy female armor. Heck, most of the women in my guild have light armored female humans in T3 or Feathered armor!
I find it weird that any guy would object to skimpy male armor, because it’s almost always a guy playing a male norn…and most norn armor shows off glorious norn abs! Also, the Gladiator and Barbaric armors are pretty popular on male toons, so I don’t get why there would be such a weird reaction to similar stuff on other armor classes.
I think the basis for the argument is often perspective issues.
Lots of people make opposite-sex characters on the basis that they treat them like characters – not as representations of themselves – or merely icons to get off to, or in some places, pretend to be the opposite sex. I personally have taken a lot of my characters directly from dungeons and dragons/pathfinder groups I play in on the basis that they have really cool character concepts and I treat each one as a separate entity as playable, not as an extension of myself (except one, but that’s because I’ve had the character name as my MMO main character name for a decade now among my group of friends before I got into the classic RPG’s).
There should be a reasonably proportional number and diverse armor list for both sexes. If you want to be a primal-looking barbarian, gender shouldn’t be a determining factor because armors for one sex are inherently more revealing. There’s a difference between classy and clkitten.
Now that is how you make a request
Not only is it funny and polite, it even caught the devs eye.
I’ve heard Gaile’s Frog saying;
“What matter is to keep a really nice collection for EVERY taste!”
Skimpy male armor please! +1 to this thread. Faren must be defeated!
+1 Also some more options for light male armour that don’t make you look like a drag queen.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that if that’s your thing.
