A feel mysrlf time and time again, craving more from this mmo, as well as others, if you are like me, you may find phsycological peace with this thread.
There is a big disconnect with todays MMO’s, let me sak you, where did you meet your clan? Do you feel like you actually need them? In some cases yes, but thats not the point im trying to make, but the thought matters, so keep reading while its f.resh in your head
Take a moment, and think back to your first approach to an MMO, where you playing with others? most likely yes, when you think MMO, you assume you will spend every moment of the game interacting with other players in some way. Anything you do, you want it to make a difference.
Is this possible? In guild wars, the answer is no, unless you are playing pvp, anything you do will just blend in with the rest of the envinment, and in the end, your actions made no change in the big scheme of things, in fact, most people will agree they would not be interested in completing a so called dynamic event mor ethan twice a day.
So, the equation is simple
P(2)=m/p=p(10)
P=players
M=mobs
Here, let me put it in words now tha you know how serious i am.
lets say the moment you approach lost shores, you see a village, an abandoned village. In the universe of guild wars, you stick to your allegiance (race), in this situation, you are a human. The town has a single leazon that works to send a message to each faction (Race) based on territory control, REAL control.
in order to gain control, you have to clear out said mobs (see equation) which are far too powerfull to take on alone, and act as a party of their own. The only way to win, is to set up camp in a particular spot. The longer you hold that area, the more local mobs that come to your location. If the camp holds strong long enough, the camp will become part of a percentage.
Percentage of your factions camps and the amount of mobs they have killed (which also clears the path for other players to traverse, making a difference) then goes to determine what land belongs to that faction.
For example, if lost shores belongs to the humans, then the humans get a shop there, which is stocked exclusively by the humans and works much like a local auction house, allowing a compitition free trade envirnment based on player work, rather than gold farmers who sit at the action house all day manipulating the item exchange. Humans also get local discounts on npc items like salvaging kits ect.
Each area owned grants a unique buff to all players of the faction, exp bonus, karma bonus, gold gain bonus, or stat bonuses.
So, instead of ariving at lost shores in its current dull state. You would be greeted by several members of your faction (race) who would gladly take you into thier pary, regardless of gear, skill, or relation. In this type of MMO, any player can help make a difference. No more worrying about being rejected or required to research a boss fight firsthand. Just come in, learn as you go, create clans of friends you actually get to play with without being rejected, and creating a competitive pve scene
