For me Tuesday seems like a huge deal for the game.

Everything they’ve posted seems like it’s likely to be the end of the world. But I had such low expectations of the achievement chests and they completely blew me away, so I’m oddly hopeful that thinks may not be as bad as I think they are going to be.

It makes me wish we could get a real preview.

I’m anticipating Tuesday, took a day off since I have to use my remaining vacation days (and I don’t plan on going anywhere)

However, you need to look forward to their PAX presentation on Saturday. They will be presenting new game content. It cold be minor (next Living Story) or it could be major (huge content dump such as classes/maps)

I think it’s going to be minor. Didn’t one of the devs say that it was previewing September updates? Probably the next adventure box thingy, maybe at most a look at the precursor scavenger hunt, or the next tier of crafting and the new ascended weapons or something. I hope it’s huge, like a new map, guild halls, or personal homes, but that doesn’t seem to be the way they’re working things.

I am pretty sure Colin did say they were going to have a major reveal at pax that was not expansion related. Tried looking for the thread but we all know how reliable the search function is. Wish I could find it so I could make sure I was not dreaming it up heh.

No I read that too, but since it’s not an expansion I dont know what a major reveal could be.

Aww, Karizee, that deflated my excitement something fierce. I’d been feeling a mild anticipation buzz, like looking forward to seeing presents opened, but WvW is not in my area of play beyond minor dabbling. Woe.

I’ll read about it here, no doubt, but I have no intention of logging on. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised, but I think that this is probably the nail in the coffin for me.

Im looking forward to Monday or maybe Sunday night when I pull up a chair, grab a few beers, turn on Star Trek Voyegar, Karma boost up and click my karma pots and spend all karma over and over again on orrian jewel boxes..even the karma from those boxes as well.

Tuesday..eh We will see. Right now Im barely logging in to play, maybe I won’t even log in for the next few days. And if Tuesday seems to be more negative than positive…I’ll be taking a break.

I can’t wait! Personally I’m over the moon about the magic find changes. I often choose to play my necro because she has the most MF gear. Looking forward to taking my other characters out for a spin.

I may take a look at the weapon skins, but I’m not going to bust out the pom-poms and start cheerleading for this update.

The most exciting part about tuesday is simply going to be magic-find going away … and even then that’s not very exciting.

I am hoping Tuesday never comes. That day I will have to look at my Meteorlogicus glowing purple. Not fun at all.

More curious about the PAX announcement, one of the devs said the announcement will not be a new class, new area, or expansion. Not sure what else they can do that would qualify as ‘big’. Unless the are talking about LS content, some of which has been really fun, but none of which has been particularly impressive in scope.

Don’t count on it. It will be about the new “Bloodlust in the borderlands” mechanic in WvW. The WvW crew works with the goal of improving WvW, not GvG. As far as I know, they are only considering the idea of GvG ( outside of WvW, mind you ) but not actively working on it.

I’m off to the dentist Tuesday, so no I’m not looking forward to it.

I will ignore SAB as i did the first time because i want to play with my character using the skills assigned to that character and not become Mario with a wooden stick that attacks rabbits. So what will happen after update is me getting the ascended crap (whatever time it takes i dunno) and go wvw cuz they aren’t adding anything else worth mentioning

Changeable stats is only for legendary, ascended will work just like exotic do now but with higher stats.

There have been player suggestions to allow that feature on Ascended, but I’ve seen nothing from ANet beyond the 2nd half of the year blog, in which the feature was clearly for legendary only.

This. Keep your expectations low, people. Remember, they said the last update was going to be the big, impressive thing that tied all the previous LS stuff together and change the game world for good.

Instead, we got Scarlet Sue and the well predicted attack of the killer clockwork with the art deco butt plates. If it wasn’t for the unbalanced loot, I doubt anyone would even care by this point.

I am mildly curious about the PAX announcement.
I think this Tuesday’s patch is the first one that I am not looking forward to- even if it is the SAB.
I think I’ll just take the two weeks off do do some stuff I’ve been missing.
Like world completion on my Ranger and playing with my friend, leveling a new character.
Running some DE’s, poking my head in caves and falling off some cliffs
In other words just regular stuff.

I’m not excited. Jumping puzzles aren’t my thing. I didn’t participate the first time, and I’m not sure how much I’ll participate this time.

That’s ok though. I’m not the only person playing. I’m not going to like everything Anet does. I’m not going to like everything anyone does.

I’ve been having an awesome time with the latest update though.

I’m looking forward to getting two pistol and two dagger skins from the SAB. My Asuran will be teh bezt rouge!

I just hope they make the minstrel a legendary. A real legendary.

If ascended weapons and MF buff are done right, they’ll be able to revitalize a lot of the game. If not, it may be a nail in the coffin. I don’t think the playerbase accepts another crafting/ascended puppy up.

Fairly sure Arena.net knows this, and therefor ain’t going to release something broken this time. This really has to work. Last few patches gave me hope they’re going to to it right.

Since Colin said the PAX announcement wont be expansion-related I hope for major pvp news. We already know there will be WvW stuff (it can just be what we saw in the stream though), and I cant think of anyting pve related that could be a “major reveal” (appart from an expansion ofc). Besides, PAX is the first GW2 tournament, sooooo… GvG? new spvp game mode?

Short of revealing a massive revamp of content or mechanics (dungeons, world bosses, skills and traits), added Fractals or new world bosses, I can’t see what the big announcement would be for PvE, unless Anet are playing up their content.

For WvW, for whatever reason, I think they’ve created new maps that will rotate at the beginning of every match.

At around 28:00 they show the “new orb system”. Basically 5 capture points which gives a bonus to the team holding 3 or more of them

On their twitch channel last week they preview 1 of 5 new sPvP-stlye nodes that’ll be surrounding the lake in the middle of the BLs. Many speculate it’s part of the orb mechanic replacement.

I honestly hope the wvw reveals will be of biblical proportions. If they just show orbs… it will be very disappointing. I am waiting for new maps..maybe map rotation 1map/month from a total of X maps…and this is just an example.

As for content…i am tired of lackluster content that takes 2 days to finish. I want real content that makes u think it changes the whole world. Like adding a A FEW new zones not just 1…adding new mobs…maybe a new race. New armors…new story.

Not 1 time stories that really don’t have that much of an impact….more then a “girlie with atention issues” that attacks everything with cool robots for a limited time. That’s not epic..that’s just temporary fun…and it really was fun…for those 2-3 days.

I’ve bought a bunch of exotic MF sets now that they are so cheap so I can convert them into better armor stats when the update goes live..

It blew me away because I was expecting rewards like the pathetic WvW rank chests: a green, a couple of silver, and maybe something else like fine transmutation stones or something equally ridiculous. They were better than that.

I think Saturday’s announcement could be, in order of likely to happen:

-new WvW map
