Did you know real bad addictions have people in denial?
No, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing imo.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
I had a slight addiction before the patch..now that they sucked the fun out of the things i was addicted to..I am as clean as a whistle.

Didnt you know denial is a river in Egypt
Somewhat, in a sense that I don’t want to play any other games, but I won’t put any of my other activities behind it.
Are you addicted? To this game?
Yes.
Nah not addictive. WoW which I didn’t like, was more addictive than Guild Wars 2. This is more of a playground. I might be addicted to the social contact I get from my guild, however, but not the game itself.
The game is fun, but I do other things as well.
Nop, but actually I like that. I don’t have time or energy for an online addiction, and addictions like that gave me a lot of problems in my past.
Was but now its going away. When i log in and have not a single other thing to do but WvW there’s no point to even log in anymore. Playing bioshock infinite right now and addicted to that, that’s a real game.

That’s just making this an unfair question to ask then. If we say no, you can just claim we’re in denial.
Honestly, my obsession stage is over. Most of it is just out of frustration from my inability to make a decent hunk of money in a session. I know there are ways; I’m just terrible at making money in games period. XD

Yes.
Yes But if I really need to do something in real life, I can put off playing for a day or two. But on my free time, I play (unless lag hates me, then I rest :p)

sucks when an mmo is like smoking.. easier to quit with every patch….
a sure sign things are moving in the wrong direction

I once was addicted to GW1! I had no desire to change, but then GW2 came along and I was cured!!! But now I’m addicted to GW2…

For you, I guess they are. I enjoy things from every patch. Maybe you need to smoke a different brand.
Addicted and proud of it.
I think I’m addicted to the forums, more than the game. I enjoy the game more though. The forums to me, are just another form of PvP. lol
Nope. I do hop on for some fun WvW action though. I just spend more time browsing because its what I do on when I can’t sleep.
I wish I was – haven’t logged in for weeks :/
Probably but the three days a week I have my daughter slows it down just enough to maybe not. Though I have a guardian transvestoon that she likes to see run around. She asks, I don’t do it specially!
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Naw.
Last night for example, I sat on the couch and watched reruns of House, when i could have been playing. This MMO is missing that certain “hook” for me. I can’t put my finger on it, I’m not sure what its missing, but it just doesn’t draw me in.
I was really looking forward to the big WvW patch, but was pretty underwhelmed.
The wife and fam are all sleeping now, and this is typically my gaming time, but i’m watching the morning news, typing this instead. I may log on a bit later though and work on my guardian a lil.

Addicted but then with my broken brain, I get addicted to the stupidest things.
I know I am! I play the game at least for 1 to 9 hours a day It’s a really great game

I was addicted in beta but im nearly fully cured, Couple more patches should do it.
Just got the game a few weeks ago, I really enjoy it but I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to it, I still play other games mainly LoL.
I think the fact that I’m not addicted to it will keep me playing casually for a while.
I consider myself “addicted” to a game when I do nothing but play that game during my free time. I was addicted to swg pre & post CU/NGE and I was addicted to LoL. But what usually follows a game addiction for me is a stage of complete hatred for that game for one reason or another due to my dependancy on that game for being my sole source of entertainment. Once that fun feeling is lost or when I come to realize I wasted a lot of my life on a game I do not plan on playing anymore I develop a strong resentment not only for the game but also for the people who are still playing & enjoying it.
I wish, it’s just too boring.
Yes, especially because of the dailies. They got me, Jim.
Yes. GW2 is the best MMO out right now, and I can’t get enough!
Quite the opposite really. Some days I find it kinda hard to want to log in to do dailies or something. Though I usually tend to find myself a couple of hours of enjoyment in a day when I do get on. Just a lot of other things/games I have been enjoying lately that I actually find it harder to pull myself away from.
I get addicted in bits.
GW2 catches me when they make good updates, and loses me when they make bad ones, then a good update comes so I login again, etc.
I think most of what ends my will of playing GW2 is when they make updates that either screw up some classes I play (cba to play kitten bugged for one month till they fix) or they don’t fix some things related to classes that are waiting for months to be fixed.
For instance this month they screwed up a couple classes, and still didn’t fix some thing we’ve been asking for in months.
I generally think Anet needs to be more aware of what’s priority.
For instance they do this:
“Quaggans will now breathe at a normal rate, and child quaggans will sound appropriate for their age.”
when we’ve been asking for fixing pathing issues of some skills, “obstructed” projectile bugs, etc.
As long as they don’t do those mistakes, I am addicted.
I’m addicted to wasting time, GW2 is optional.
I can quit any time I want! I did actually, but then I relapsed a few months later… but it’s mostly my friends that keep me coming back.
I’m addicted to wasting time, GW2 is optional.
I think this is me. I have to use my brain all the time. I use GW2 to shut it off. Works great! I am addicted but other than WvW I’m running out of things that I find enjoyment in. My 3 characters are all level 80 and have everything they need. Nothing to do now except money trains and WvW. Kicking around going for legendary, but world completion stops me, since our server rarely holds much in WvW…. 98%… ya… it’s a long haul that last 2%.
In the way most people are probably thinking of it yes I am. I play nearly every day and I do it because I really enjoy the game.
But in a literal sense no, not at all. I play when I have time to, but if I can’t, or if something else comes along that interests me more I’ll do that and not think twice about it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Was a bit, not now………………… just do my dailies.
No.
But I’d really, really like to be.
nah it gets repetitive. and not in a good way. WoW was addictive because there was far more depth in the game and lots and lots of different things to do.
when i was bored on WoW, i would GANK people and raid citys
Alt: lvl 80 Mesmer
only good thing about gw2 is WvWvW. but even that gets ruined when people Spy on other servers.
we need Tanks, and more roles for supportive people and more single roaming options..
even on WoW you could go into a Battleground and do alot of work for your team solo.
Alt: lvl 80 Mesmer
From August through November, I was.
Thats when this game was at its height.
Now, yeah I like it.. I like certain aspects. The classes are a huge draw. My Main is a thief, as is in most games, but I absolutely love the idea of the mesmer. Loving that class a lot more. I love the spell effects in the game, the graphics, the gorgeous landscapes.
Its just the direction of content development and design focus that is obliterating my desire to play the game.
That’s the problem, I don’t feel the urge to play.
My character stopped progressing as a character after level 40. Ascebded gear is a good step forwards to having an endgame objective but there’s no character progression. I’m using the same skill rotations on my Guardian as I was from level 40, it gets old and it means I got nothing to look forwards to doing.
I don’t feel like collecting more vanity gear because without a wardrobe system, I can’t use them.
There’s challenging content, but AC3 and champ farming gives better rewards.
There’s the LS but I don’t think we need a debate to establish that it mostly sucks so far.
Nope, but I have been trying to since day 1 :P
I keep playing because I have a lot of faith in GW2 because of Anet (great work ethics, passionate, very interactive with their playerbase, etc).
Server: Darkhaven (fb.com/groups/guildwars2darkhaven)

I suspect that I was. However, as with all MMO’s, when it gets to the point where I am just repeating the same thing for the umpteenth time, my desire to play just stops at some point. Since 90% of what’s been added to the game since last November does not hold my interest, I’ve not been playing.
I’m addicted to MMOs. Once a new game comes out that I’m really excited about, I look forward to saying peace out to gw2.
Hopefully the next game won’t delete my progression for new content.

This is what you are going to get in a min.
Are you addicted? To this game?
Yes & No. I’m addicted to MMO’s in general. If I wasn’t playing Guild Wars 2, it would just be another MMO that I’d be playing and sucked into.
Was a bit, not now………………… just do my dailies.
Yeah.
I really loved this game at the start. I spent a lot of time on it.
The tipping point is when it became too much “ChoreWars2” for me.
Check dailies, and plan how to hit five while doing other things.
Turn on dragon timer overlay so I can make sure to get the world bosses when they pop for that elusive dragonite.
Pick up gold and items from TP. Relist items, and put in buy orders for today’s items.
Do time-gated ecto refinement.
Log on to each character parked at a jumping puzzle for empyreal shards.
Kill 250 rats for the LS achievement.
Join in weekly guild missions for commendations.
Make sure to finish out monthlies before the month is too far gone.
Pick up Elder Scrolls Anthology for dirt cheap at Black Friday sale.
Come back and check on GW2 in a few months time to see if anything has changed to make it more like GW2 at launch.

Not even close. Compared to gw1 this is nothing.
Yes.
