Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

My rangers look forward to that patch .. my warriors not sooo much
Else .. yay for new TP-UI .. and Mini-Frostbite for all my chars.
The rest .. don’t know .. will see how it works out.
So more people buy gems to turn in quickly tons of gold, so more will the value of gold inflate, because the game isn’t able to remove as quickly permanently gold from the game, as fast as new gold finds into the game daily either through bought gems turned into gold or due to tons of active gold farmers in dungeons ect.
You still don’t understand how that works. There is no Gold created out of nowhere.
The gold that people buy with gems is gold that other players have earned ingame
already .. so no new gold is generated .. and there is even some gold destroyed in that
process.
In the end this also works against the inflation the same like selling stuff on the TP
does.

Yes, I am.
Im actually more excited than I thought I would be.
I think many of the changes are good. Some not so much, but over all the patch is OK. I just can’t get excited about it. As one person said above, it feels like a patch to correct things.
So while I think the changes are mostly good, I really don’t see anything that actually excites me.
Yes I am .. .. ..
No, not really. I can’t think of any of the “features” I care about in the slightest. I just want the balance update so I can play around and see how much gold I’m going to have to waste to respec/upgrade.
Not to be greedy, but I’m excited in the way we will be one step closer to the next, hopefully thrilling, announcement.
For what it brings? Not excited, I’m just welcoming some things.
Pretty much how I think a lot of us feel… Just things to take off the list that will bring us closer to what we actually want.
And now I’m even more furious with the patch than I was before the last two blog reveals..
I really don’t see why. Those items are part of current collection achievements already. Now they are simply being shuffled into their own categories. At least for collecting them, they reward you in kind (ie, you gets lion tickets back so you can reinvest).
Some things excite me (new skins, new TP, crafting UI), others make me afraid (class specific drops)
Yeah, but peopel should do this out of an other reason, other than for achievement points.
Why should achievement hunters suffer under this change, only because some selfish players want to see the gold to gem rate crush down so that they can get easier more gems?
Sounds not like a fair trade off to me …
@ Beldin:
Maybe, however it doesn’t change the fact, that all of those thigns will definetly cost after the patch tons of more gold, so far to the point, that mostly anyone won’t be able anymore to get those things and this nearly destroys the sense behind those collections, when something is so butt costy, that only like 1% of the playerbase can even afford it to complete these achievements maybe one day in like 2024 or so … if the game is still running then …

no , arenanet is just bad at delivering good content. they just focus on the wrong stuff/parts of the game
Yes!
I’m just sad that I’m leaving to work in 1~ hour and probably I’ll not be here when the patch hits
For this one – no, not really.
Not since I found out the absolutely kittened changes they made to skill unlocks.
Not since I found out the absolutely kittened changes they made to skill unlocks.
I think Anet is trying to find that sweet spot of intelligence for their playerbase between “post lobotomy” and “just smart enough to pound out the numbers of a credit card on the keyboard.”
I’m looking forward to the changes being implemented simply for the collections. Finally I will have something to do in the game… Though I’m not sure how long it will keep me entertained for.
I have seen a video or 2 showing off the new features. The new back items are (in my opinion) ugly as hell and simply ridiculous and I am pretty sure I will utter “noob” under my breath each time I see someone wearing one of them… Sadly I will be forced to unlock the skins though… urgh…
The TP update is… Good but at the same time it could have included a well needed “Trade” function that allows players to trade items for other items. Other than that is wasn’t a much needed change, the existing TP is more than adequate.
The Balances I dare not look into as they seem to target my build every single time they change build balancing, so I’m going to just continue in blissful ignorance.
I like the minipet update which I suggested about a year ago… Finally it has been answered!
Other than that… I imagine within a week or so, my gaming will go back to the usual:
Login > Complete Daily > Logout!
Curious to see how things play out but not particularly excited witht he possible exception of the Ranger changes. The Ranger changes are a nice start. If this is not the first step, but rather the end point, then no.

The fact that there are people who actually couldn’t cope with the amount of skills/traits you get early on is really beyond me. Guild Wars 2 must be one of the easiest mmo’s ever concieved, and there are still those who can’t wrap their head around it? Just wow..
No. I’m still waiting for Anet to add some actual content to this game. All they have been doing is streamlining their current content.

The most shocking thing is that there are really few useful skills in the game, so if people cannot manage to somehowe “master” them, they shouldn’t be playing this game but rather Winnie the Pooh or something that only needs 2 buttons…
As a matter of fact, yes. I am excited for the feature pack. Glad we cleared that up.
From what I’ve seen about the patch it looks really good, the way they updated the combat log for PvP-ers, the Trade post which has always been a hassle for me since launch, more uniform character UI with the miniature unlocks etc (and you can now easily use a mini which would promote everyone to use one if they wish). More achievement rewards for collectors, finally multi-server guild support (no more split) and a bunch of other polishing features. If you look at the bigger picture what’s happening here with feature pack 1 and 2 is that they are setting up systems that can be easily expanded, such as the wardrobe and now achievement improvements, minipets etc. I hope they will keep on doing these patches because this is the kind of stuff that may not seem big at first but just you wait a year and look back, you’ll notice it are all quite significant changes.
I’m going to go with no.
ANet’s had this disturbing trend of making the game more convenient to live with, but terribly inconvenient to actually play.
Can anyone tell me at what time the patch hits so I wont be cut of guard during my fractal runs today? I would appreciate the heads up.
If you have an iPhone 5, you don’t usually get exicted with 5S coming out ( feature pack ) but rather iPhone 6 ( expansion ).
So not really.
If only they had 1 feature I wanted, like Guild Halls…
I would call this pack something else than feature pack.
It’s more of a “UI improvements” patch

No no no! Giving your fanbase the content they actually asked for? Why would they do that lol.

You have to pay for an iPhone 5S, so it’s a bit different. And actually, I’m never excited when a new iPhone releases unless I have an upgrade available.

I’m sure most people would love to get their iPhone 5 upgraded to iPhone 5S for free (feature pack)
I am so tired of feature less feature patches
kitten , so much hate for iPhones.:D Haha!^^
There is one thing I can definitely say I’m never excited about on patch days. Its the amount of insider trading that goes on the day before the patch.
Also, the fact that every feature in the feature pack is a quality of life improvement, and doesn’t expand the game in any significant way….yeah, kind of sad about the fact this game is always in Beta.
Also the launch of iOS 8 (reportedly)
Apple will probably only release the GM version today and release the official version next week or when the “new” iPhone(s) come out. You can still install it without an UDID registration though.
Well to come back on-topic:
Yes, I am excited about the patch, but I am pretty sure I’ll be bored in 5 hours of game time like last feature patch.
I’m looking forward to playing the new feature pack on my 80s. I’m now extremely pessimistic about the new characters I was making.
The only collection achievement the BL weapons are in is the whole wardrobe acheivement (1000 skins one), but that can be completed without the BL weapons (and armors).
And only 5 tickets for spending (at least) 16 tickets, yeah thats really rewarding ><, which most people will never be able to get.
Well, from what got announced already, after this patch and the changes it will bring (especially when added to previous trait changes), i’m extremely unlikely to ever level another alt again. So no, i’m not really thrilled.
Ambivalent. See some things I like, see some things I don’t like, will have to see how it impacts my gameplay in practice.
I’m pretty happy about the changes coming, and yeah, i’m excited to see the impact they’ll have on the game without the speculative “it’ll destroy early leveling” etc etc.

Except there is nothing speculative about it.
No, I deleted the game a month ago and hoped I will download it again after the FP2….but NOPE, for me the game looks more or less the same, some features are really just fixes (trading post) and some features are not really features (locking game features behind levels). So… enjoy :/

It’s speculative until it actually had destroyed something. Besides, you can level pretty quickly with very limited usage of your abilities. Maybe it’ll force people to actually learn what the abilities do. I don’t think it’s as bad as the 2% of people say it is.
There’s a chance it’ll bring an understanding to conservative usage of your abilities, which would be a welcome challenge.

By that logic we have nothing to worry about when a comet the size of texas approaches our planet. The comet hasn’t actually hit us yet so everything the impact could cause is purely speculative.
Look we know what the changes are so it’s very easy to deduce what that is going to mean for our levelling process.
Also 2%? Who’s being speculative now.

Not if 5S means the cover color is different and nothing else what the community asks for

You literally don’t finish unlocking your weapon skills until level 10 now. If you can’t familiarize yourself with five buttons several hours into gameplay, you need to just stop playing. This has to be some sort of attempt to provoke responses. There’s no way to defend stretching out the unlocks like this.
excited for new arcing slice. There are no new features so huehue
No. This “feature pack” should have been done in addition to creating new and exciting content for the userbase.
Oh look, a new way to sell my garbage greens and blues! Oh look, 20 red commanders on the map instead of 20 blue ones!!! BY BALTHAZAAR THE EXCITEMENT!
Anet has turned into a hype machine instead of being a solid deliverer of good content.
I probably won’t even bother to log in and update until there is something worth while in the game actually worth playing.
There are other games that are holding my attention and I am thinking that my faith in Anet is pretty much lost by now
What exactly about that made you mad? I for one am excited about the whole collection stuff because I think it will be fun. Also I am stoked over this patch because of its guild implications, as a member of one of the largest active guilds in the game this patch will do wonders for us!
At first No I wasn’t. Until the collectible and trading post blogs/reveals. Then I was kinda excited about it. Until Yesterday when I watched this http://youtu.be/Y312p68sK4k?t=7m17s. And now I’m even more furious with the patch than I was before the last two blog reveals.
So ultimately, no, I’m not excited for the patch.

The point stands that they already a part of the achievement system. Weapons and armor go into the wardrobe. Minis go into the mini achievements. Its not like the gem store didn’t impact achievements before now. It’s been there since launch.
Now, if you do bother to collect a whole set, whether that be through cash or coin doesn’t really matter, you can be rewarded for it. Either way its a lot of frustration.
And it’s 7 tickets, from what I’ve seen. Could be worse, could be a slap in the face and a gfy.
Not really. They’re not fixing the problems with traits, so I’m still playing this game significantly less compared to how I was before the trait revamp went into play.
Yes I am particularly excited that two things listed in suggestions folder archive made it into this patch.
Eh, not excited no, I’m quite interested in the collections (which seems to be mainly new achievements for the wardrobe, etc) and the TP changes are welcome (and long, long overdue) but there are no real exciting features coming in this pack, IMO. There are some welcome improvements but it’s difficult to be excited about performance improvements, new commander colours and so on.
