This is an update to a thread I made that became archived. I asked beforehand how I should go about updating it and was directed to make a new thread here. (See ticket #569713 as proof)

I have bolded remaining requests and smilied completed ones for easier reading.

My hope in posting this edit is to demonstrate how our suggestions have been heard and implemented and to ensure that the ones not quite done yet are still desired.

Here is the original post with the aforementioned edits and updates applied:

“What are some of the armors and clothes we have already seen in the game that we would like to have implemented for player use? I have a few ideas and would love to
have you add your ideas to the list. Try keeping what we can already see in game as a guideline for your suggestions so we can keep them in the realm of possible for Anet to act on. Anet told us back at launch that we would eventually get to be able to wear anything we see an NPC wearing. So, let’s let em know which ones we are particularly keen on seeing sooner rather than later.

My first thought is Lady Kasmeer’s armor (EDIT): This has been added to the game. Huge Thanks to Anet from me! It made my whole week better seeing this in the PvP locker today and I am extremely excited to acquire this for my main light armor Follow Up: Yes indeed, my main did look great in Kasmeer’s armor, and I have many beautiful screenshots of it, thank you!

Next thought, again Lady Kasmeer is the culprit, I want a real bathing suit for my girls instead of having them swim in their underwear. And those sandals Kasmeer was wearing at Southsun? Adorable! These need to be in my girls’ wardrobes as well – they’d go great with those darling khaki cargo shorts we were given in May. (EDIT): I have seen the under construction swimsuits and they sound promising, so I will take that as this request being worked on = Hooray!

And the hairstyles Kasmeer and Marjory are sporting… Yes. I want those too. ~sets aside enough gems for 2 hairstyle kits~ (EDIT): These have also been added to the game! Hooray! My main looked so cute in Kasmeer’s armor and Marjory’s hairstyle!

Another thought, Countess Anise’s armor. Another light armor appearance I would enjoy having available. The top has a hint of the Mad King’s Court dress from GW1, which I also loved.

Last thought, the town clothes most of the noble or wealthy human females in Divinity’s Reach are wearing. There are basically 2 styles of long and elegant dresses that appear to be clever mixes of skirt and blouse combinations. For those of my Human girls that I chose the nobility background for, I would like to have them dress appropriately while strolling around town.

Now that’s probably enough ideas from me for one post.

(EDIT) I would also like to suggest that new armor appearances be made craftable or acquirable through other in game means rather than skins that have to be purchased with gems. Town clothes are fine as gem purchases. However, to have to pay 800 gems for a pair of medium armor boots or a heavy armor top, for example, is too harsh. This is especially so when you have to pay that several times if you want those on more than one character. The cost of these armor skins is way out of proportion compared to the rest of the armor in the game if you try to use in game gold to buy gems. A piece of exotic armor can usually be acquired with 2-3 in game gold whereas it would take around 24 in game gold to get the gems needed to buy the armor piece’s look you want from the gem store. Even if you bought or crafted 6 armor pieces it would still only be half what it takes to get an armor look from the gem store. There is also inventory clutter when you don’t want the rest of the armor that comes with the one piece you want. Armor skins need to not be gem store purchases or they need to be significantly lower in gem price and possibly split up into their individual pieces. Since the latter would take up a lot of room in the gemstore I suggest just making armor skins craftable while leaving town clothes and toys and such as gem store purchases.
(EDIT the EDIT) The new wardrobe addresses this concern very well and in a way I hadn’t even thought of, well done!
Now if we could just have the mix and match back for town clothes… as we can clearly see I have been wanting to mix and match things since day one. Bringing that back would just about make the new wardrobe perfect and make the other items on this request list much easier to implement down the road, ie Kasmeer’s sandals with the khaki shorts

Oh yes, since these are related to the topic I will add a summary of them here:

1. Separate the Pirate Captain’s outfit top and pants from each other (cannot be addressed until the mix and match is resolved).

2. Option to retain our headgear in cut scenes.

3. Option to toggle on/off the view of everyone’s back item – update to add: ability to see the back item currently equipped in the hero/wardrobe panel.

The original versions of those requests can be found here:

Heh, I would like to think my posting abilities are getting more polished over time, some of the originals are not very well written.
