Ascended weapons look like they came out of santa’s workshop. They would be great for next christmas event, but as ascended weapons i expected more than that. At least we got upgraded christmas weapon skins.

Also want to thank you for improving the world bosses in Tyria, Tequatl for example, as seen in one of your pictures on facebook. Good decision.
I don’t know how much they are improved though, but hopefully a lot of improvement.

The handle looks really good on that GS but the blade is really just like the christmas GS with some updated effects.

Just add in some particle effects and ill be happy

I think that the ascended weapons look amazing.

The greathammer and shield in particular. In fact I’d say the shield is one of the most beautiful shields that I have ever seen in a game.

But I don’t like that the colours are different depending on the stats. That is kind of a gear check if you ask me.
In my opinion they should just have given us the option to choose which colour we wanted.

How did you craft it through the insane amount of gold and time gating required to even get to 500?

there is no time gating to craft to 500

you can go 400-425 with jsut smelting oricalcum and after this discover recipes and sell the exo

you dont even need alot money for this

or just do what players should do in a game and play the game so you get ascendent crafting materials just from everwhere and refine them for cheap from 450+

Nevertheless, it costs 200g to get there, and you’re time gated to crafting ascended materials.

Made my GS already too, spent pretty much no gold getting to 500. I already had a load of mats and it barely dented the pool when discovering the exos. I made 3 Deldrimor Steel Ingots and Spiritwood Planks myself for the inscription, but then I just bought 6 more ingots from the TP. There is pretty much no time-gating at all if you’re willing to spend some more gold. The only real time gate is Dragonite Ore, but you get a bucketload of them anyway. Got 500 within the past 3 days easily.

Gosh I want one. I love the look. No need for it right now though…my mesmer is only a lvl 27 hehe. Got a while to get everything all leveled and gathered.

Did some easy jumping puzzles and did some dungeon runs.

You get 20 per run, and there is NO limit. You get DR for going too fast (CoF p1 over and over, for example, 20 → 10) but that’s it. Easy.

It was 20 the first 3 times, then it went down to 10. We did p2 for another 20 and p1 became 20 again. Don’t know how long the pattern can hold out, but you can alternate between any quick and easy dungeons you want and get as many as you need with no problem at all.

Yeah AC , CM , CoF1 , Hotw1 get done pretty quick.

Ok, this thread turned into a nightmare. I didn’t make this thread so you could talk about crafting the ascended weapons. I started this thread so you could tell ArenaNet how much copy pasta they are. Christmas weapon skins 2.0

Actually, I like all of the skins except the GS.

I think that fused skins is the best ones in GW2 , even than Legendaries.

I was hoping for different looking weapon sets based on the weaponsmith/designer. There’s really only ONE weapon set; the sets just vary in color. Where’s the variety in DESIGN??? Ascended is a whole new catergory for weapons for goodness sake! Look how different the ascended accessories and whatnot look. What happened to that diversity with the weapons? (And, yes, i know we only see the icons for accessories, rings, etc, but you get the point.)

This is most disappointing, and I think, overall, a lazy approach to what could have been an incredible showcase of diverse weaponry based on the designer/weaponsmith.

It’s like this: I’ll make one for the stats alone, then put a skin of something else over top of it.
