I have 4 level 80’s. Only used in WvW. I am a build theory craft junkie so I buy lots of different equipment and weapons. Makes it easier to change builds which I do quite often.

I am building up my necro who is at level 52. My bank is pretty much full so I decide I need more storage for his stuff. I find out that I am maxed out for bank slots at 12. Can’t buy anymore?

So I have stopped leveling my Necro since I know there is no room for his stuff when he hits 80.

Apparently Anet doesn’t want any more of my money. Not sure of any reasonable solutions since I use pretty much all of the EQ/Weapons in my bank.

Make personal guild banks. Relatively cheap (~5g I think) for 50 slots.

Or make characters (mules) to store junk.

I do both.

Buy more blag slots. Buy more character slots to use as storage mules.

What is a personal guild bank?

Create a guild for yourself only and use the guild bank for extra bank space.

No need to buy extra bag slots. Just making a mule character gets you a lot of free storage space (the 20-slot starter bag, and then you can buy or make 15-18 slot bags for the other four slots for cheap).

Technically you could buy extra bag slots on a mule character…but you’d get more for your money by just buying more character slots (80-100 slots free on a brand new character, whereas buying a new bag slot would only be 20 extra slots at most).

Personally, I keep non-account bound stuff in one of two personal guild banks. Account-bound stuff goes on my storage mule.

I don’t think you’re really using 360 + 400ish inventory slots on equipment.

First you dont need to rep for long, 5g will buy you all the influence you need.

To your other questions, no and no, souldbound will have to be your bank alone.
But I’m sure you have crafting items etc in there and those can be passed on to storage mules

Note that you can’t put accountbound items in a guild bank.

Surely, you have some things in your bank that are neither soul-bound, nor account-bound. Skins, trophies, consumables, whatever. You can move all those to the Guild Vault, and free up storage for soul-bound items.

I end up just not making many gear set. I mean I made a rabid gear for my necro, but never use it, but dont’ want to throw away too. The lesson I learned is stop trying out new build.

Really. Would there be any advantage for me to make this up? Do the math. Each set is 14-15 pieces. Sometimes the armor set is fine, but I want to change the Runes. If they are expensive, like Travellers, I buy a repeat of the equipment plus new runes. Rangers have many many different viable combinations.

It has been quite easy to fill it completely up gathering stuff for 18 months.

Then you have bigger issues than a tab cap.

I have a bunch of account bound stuff (can’t remember name)that you get from WvW leveling that people say are valuable for some type of crafting but I can’t sell it so will have to delete that stuff also

Well since you complained about ArenaNet not wanting anymore of your money. Your solution is simple. Buy a 2nd account and buy more bank slots over there hon if you really want to hoard so much stuff.

Otherwise, start selling.

EDIT: ok before you go that far, you could always buy more character slots and use them as storage units. but please just try to dispose of some redundant and sub-optimal items first.

…and I am the furthest thing from a hoarder irl …in fact an exact opposite. I use pretty much all of the armor. If in fact there wasn’t something I didn’t use I don’t know how to get rid of it without feeling like I was tossing money down the drain.

Those pieces of wood are worth a lot of money.

One method that hasn’t been mentioned but you could use is self muling, it assumes all non bound items are stored on mules or in a guild bank.

Basically whenever your not playing a character they hold onto all of their sets. This means when you login into a character your bank should be empty since all the character bound gear are on the characters they are bound to. Decide which gear you want and equipt it , then put all remaining gear into the bank and go play. When you are done go back to the bank and grab back all the gear you put it.

This method takes a bit more time when logging in, switching characters and logging out, but it keeps your gear organized and prevents having to go to mule looking for that specific set you muled.

Just get rid of the excess. I doubt you need all that stuff. I have 13 level 80 characters, and I can’t even fill up 3 bank tabs with all the gear I need.

grrr, so that means if one of my players has equipped an exotic sword and put it in the bank……that an alt can’t store it.? If that is correct then that would have been pretty easy for someone to say responding to my original post.

Yea, I just deleted 3 stacks of 250 each of some kind of crystal that I get in Wvw. Can’t sell it or store it.

I would love to hear what you actually storing in that bank of yours. Is it all exotic armors and weapons?

You can also get invisible bag and put it on bottom of your inventory so you can carry that extra set on you and don’t have to worry about selling or salvaging it, because it will stay in that slot.

Neither personal guild bank nor extra characters slots will solve a storage issue if everything is Soulbound (which all decent equipment other than Ascended / Legendary will be if ever used…mentioned above). Another Account will not fix the problem either (as you cannot mail Soulbound or Account Bound items).

If you have a good bit of NON-equipment stuff that is not bound (materials, boosters, food, ect.) then THAT can be stored in Guild Banks or another Account (or extra characters) and that will free up main storage area.

On the topic of Guild Banks, be careful with what you store there as it is not widely known that if your account requires a roll back due to being hacked, Guild Banks will NEVER be restored so anything you had there that was taken is GONE GONE GONE. You can also not access a Guild Bank from another server if you ever transfer (stuff will still be there, you just can’t access it).

One small additional trick to “store” items that can be sold on the TP (if you have the gold to “rent” storage space) is to put in a Sell order at price that nobody will ever buy the item. Cancel the sell order when you want the item back. Again, will cost you the listing fee.

Then the best option is to work at replacing your exotics with ascended since all of that gear is account bound and can be traded between your characters. This will free up the majority of your slots.

It isn’t a short term fix, to be sure, but it is definitely the best option for a build tester like yourself.

Only Ascended and Legendaries are acc bound, the rest are still soulbound.

You can not, but you can clear up space by moving non-bound items to the vault.

What you could do is spend some money and dedicate some time to getting your crafting skills to 500.

Then create one set of ascended gear for each stat set you use. Ascended gear is all account bound, even after use so you would just need one spot for each particular armor type and stats (light zerk, medium, zerk, heavy zerk, etc).

Create/buy legendary weapons for your characters that are level 80. They have stat swapping, reducing the number of weapons you’d have to carry for each. You can transmute another skin onto them if you don’t like their skin.

That is correct. You can buy 2 Berserker rings (different infusions) and use them on all of your characters. You’ll have to swap them out via the bank, but you’ll never need to buy another Berserker ring again.

Same with the weapons and armor. It’s a long process, but you can reduce the number of gear pieces you are storing by up to 66% via ascended gear.

Last dumb question. Ascended gear is only for like characters? I mean cloth ascended can only work with other cloth characters?

Moot point though since Ascended gear is out of reach for me.

The only solution that I can see is to max out your character’s bag slots (8 bag slots per character). Then if you want the cheapest way to get 20 slot bags you can run fractals. Seeing as how you are mostly a WvWer though that may not be an option. Making your own 20slot is expensive but doable.
If you do this per character, as you can afford it, the characters can hold the soulbound armor and weapons in their own inventory.

EDIT: for cost it is 400gems per bag slot per character. Unfortunately it is costly but if you want to hold onto all that equipment the cost may be worth it.
