So I’m in a 1v1 pvp room playing against someone where i get some message that my account breached some ToS agreement or something and i tried logging in again and it said ive been banned! WHat the heck?!>:( I haven’t done anything to anybody:( I poured so much time into this game and a good amount of money into it just to get randomly banned:( come on what the heck please can someone fix this? I have so much things i worked for just down the drain, both of my legends, 4 level 80s and 2 characters with almost map completions:( PLEASE i’m so lost and frustrated please someone help me!
EDIT: My Account is back online! Seems to be related to HoT from what i’ve seen. If you had the same issue this may be it. Hopefully it resolves for everybody else.

Same here, I hoping it’s part of the bug fix for players that lost progress for HoT maps, they did mention they would disable account..

Same. I felt the same way, it is so frustrating to see this. I sent a ticket asap before checking forum, but I JUST built my bifrost as well. Heart and soul into this game to be banned is a terrible feeling. At least you know you’re not the only one.
If you had the HoT lost progress bug your accounts should be back, they disabled your account to fix the issue, if it wasn’t that then you did something against the rules..
I got banned as well, and I can’t think of a good reason. I created a support ticket.

I checked back and it seems to have fixed itself. My incin, Meteorlogicus and Dawn all in tact, characters all there and everything looks just about fine. Try checking back and see if that works

Doubt it. I can bet my whole life savings I didn’t do anything wrong. Even redditors are getting banned, pretty sure its affecting multiple accounts. Forum threads with people saying the same thing wouldn’t be happening if you didn’t know why you were banned.

An issue arose on Wednesday that caused some players’ Heart of Thorns map exploration to disappear. If your account was one of those that had the map exploration issue, it was temporarily disabled in order to correct the issue. The correction has been made to all impacted accounts, and those involved will find a nice little something in your in-game mail as a gift to thank you for your understanding. We’re sorry for any distress that the time-out caused — the team worked as quickly as they could to rectify the matter.
If your account has been blocked, suspended, or terminated for a reason other than the correction of the map exploration bug, please feel free to contact Customer Support and they will assist you.

For anyone that created a ticket, but the issue was resolved, don’t forget to close the ticket. You can close your ticket by updating it, and stating, ‘I no longer need help.’

I was not affected by the bug, I did not have my account disabled and I missed the opportunity to become distressed by this forum thread.
However, reading about it now makes me regret not having been involved somehow and also feel some pain on behalf of poor secondary sufferers like “Just a flesh wound” so I was wondering if I could have some gems to compensate for my tertiary discomfort.
In return, I promise to publicly declare that “ArenaNet Am Da Best” at least once per day for at least one day. Thank you.

I can answer this one! It was addressed in another thread. There is indeed a different issue that is preventing people from getting map completion rewards. With this issue, your progress isn’t reset – you still have the map explored, you just don’t get a reward when you finish. We’re aiming to have it fixed in the next patch, so just go back to those maps next Tuesday to get your goodies. If for whatever reason the fix doesn’t make it in, we’ll keep you posted.

I can answer this one! It was addressed in another thread. There is indeed a different issue that is preventing people from getting map completion rewards. Thank you, Kraggy. The Dev Tracker is a marvelous thing, and it’s true that this situation was talked about several times before it took place.
mcwurth — I’m sorry that you missed that notification. I’m sure you can appreciate that in the overall scope of things, the few player whom it impacted would not warrant something as off-putting as a system-wide, in-game notification. Doing that would cause unnecessary stress and concern from potentially hundreds of thousands of players. Posting on the forums, as our dev did, seemed the best way to foreshadow such a singular incident that impacted so few players.
I am sorry for any stress that you were caused by not being aware of the brief, planned account reset period.
