Berserker or Assassin stats?
Well, I think the opposite is better. As a primarily precision based fighter, I found Beserker’s to be more superior. You still need the raw damage in order for things like crit to be worth anything.
My warrior zerker has about 69% crit chance naturally without fury or buffs (they had higher before the nerfs) using all beserker gear. And adding in fury and food buffs, you can easily attain that 100% crit chance. (I’m not even full exotics either btw).
Also keep in mind, alot of higher end content is immune to crits. Objects and open world bosses make crits rather useless, so having a good boost in power is still a decent compromise.
But this is just my opinion.
I’ve done the math a few times. Generally, berserker is better than assassin, but not by much. This is because of how well power scales up when compared to precision or crit damage.
Berserk deals more damage in general. It’s a pretty balanced prefix.
While Berserker deals the same amount of damage as Soldier on non-critable targets, it’s far more fragile.
Assassin might be on par with berserker, if you have lots of “on crit” effects with low cool downs and are not capped my multiple players. So on various situations they might be equal … But once you hit immobile world bosses, assassin’s is one of the weaker and still fragile prefixes.
In 99,99% of situations, Zerk is better than Assassin.
Manly, because atm is possible/easy to get 100% crit chance in Zerk gear already (Fury Banner Spotter Accuracy Sigil/Perception Stacks Traits – like RighHandStrengt), so you don’t need to trade off some power for extra precision.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

So if you talk about non-warriors almost every reason voids …
And you don’t stack precision, if you’re reasoning that berserker gear deals more damage “in 99.99% of situations” …
spotter = ranger
accuracy sigil = anyone
perception = anyone
fury = anyone
right hand strength = guards
banner = warrior
almost every reason void? ok if you say so
Morrï (Mesmer) | Serah Mahariel (Guardian) | Morrï Mahariel (Warrior)
“colesy’s on rampage today. Slaying casuals left, right and centre” – spoj
I was wondering what stat combination would make more damage.
Berserker: Power>precision-crit dmg
Assassin: Precision>power-crit dmgAssassin sounds pretty good if u go for max precision. You can achive 100%crit chance with fury. I personally think it can do more dmg than berserker, which has more base dmg, but has less often critical.
Anyone has some results?
You can get to 100% using only Berserker gear with most professions.
From the wiki:
Critical Chance = round down((precision – 822) / 21)
Base Precision: 916
Full Berserker Precision: 698 (Exotic)
Sigil of Perception: 250
Traits (30 Points): 300
So using the formula, gives us ~64% Critical Chance
Warrior/Thief/Elementalist Signet:
180
72% Critical Chance total
Ranger Spotter / Warrior Banner of Discipline:
150
71% Critical Change total
Banner/Spotter + Signet:
80%
Fury: 20%
Sigil of Accuracy: 5%
That’s 100% with Fury, or 85% with Accuracy, without adding special +% critical traits like Right Hand Strength of Guardians (15%) or Side Strike of Thieves (7%)
There is also Lightning Hammer that everyone can use (provided there is an Ele in the group) that gives another +180 Precision ~8% Critical Chance
Full Ascended Trinkets (I won’t deal with Weapons) offer +121 Precision, that’s another +5.7% Critical Chance
Also, 6x Ruby Orbs (I won’t count runes) give +84 Precision = +4% Critical Chance

answer depends entirely on your build and if/how you’re mix-matching your eq.

I laugh everytime someone mentions banners like they work for warriors only.
Copy-pasted from my Guru post just now:
Did a quick check on DPS in builds switching precision for the major stat:
Without any buffs:
20/30/20/0/0 GS guardian: Berserker slightly better
10/30/30/0/0 sword guardian: Berserker moderately better
30/0/0/10/30 axe warrior: Berserker moderately better
30/0/0/10/30 grenade engineer: Berserker slightly better
20/30/5/15/0 sword ranger: Berserker moderately better
10/30/0/0/30 sword/pistol mesmer: Berserker slightly betterWith all possible buffs:
20/30/20/0/0 GS guardian: Berserker slightly better
10/30/0/30/0 sword guardian: Berserker much better
30/0/0/10/30 axe warrior: Nearly identical, Berserker slightly better
30/10/0/0/30 grenade engineer: Nearly identical, Assassin slightly better
20/30/5/15/0 sword ranger: Nearly identical, Berserker slightly better
10/30/0/0/30 sword/pistol mesmer: Assassin slightly betterIn general, any disparity is because the class in question gets some degree of bleeding on crits, and bleed scales better than direct with more might since you have a lower (read: no) condition damage stat. Otherwise, we’re talking a difference of often less than 100 DPS out of 10k+, so it really doesn’t matter. In general, Assassin’s is probably better just because it crits more, unless you are a class like the guardian who is liable to go way over the crit cap on certain weapons.
