Guild Event CalendarGoal of Proposal
create a fast and easy way to schedule guild events without having to send out mail or whispers to your guild.Proposal Functionality

- date and time info along with ingame waypoint or poi
- ability to have the event span across more than one day
- ability to have events repeat like when make up guild missions take place ect.
- rank options for who can add, remove, edit and view
- option to be able to be mailed a summary (per player so if a player wants to opt out of it they can)
- option to turn on anet events ( things like feature patch updates or pvp/wvw tournament starts)
Associated Risks
- spam
- inappropriate language or events added
- conflicting events with other guilds (note that every guild would have there own and other guilds would not be able to see them unless you were a member of that guild)
In additional to what suggested.
Goal of Proposal
Easier to coordinate with individuals of different timezone.
Proposal Functionality
Display a alert in guild chat if there is a upcoming guild event in xx minutes.
Proposal Overview
Fix guild missions control bug!
Goal of Proposal
The guild missions bug has been there since the beginning and it has yet to be fixed. Anyone in the guild can start the guild missions, this is troubling to large guilds which accept complete newbies.
Proposal Functionality
Fix it.
Associated Risks
None
Proposal Overview
To allow event related guilds to gain influence
Goal of Proposal
Currently, guilds such as those who are world boss or RP centric have a high proportion of non-repping players as most of them will rep only for an event and then go back. Therefore the rate of influence these guilds gain is very limited which hinders the creation of upgrades they would find essential (such as being able to spawn a world boss).
Proposal Functionality
Allow all guilds you belong to gain influence(at a reduced rate ofc) so as to allow specialist guilds the ability to obtain upgrades that would normally be punitive to obtain
Associated Risks
There’s a risk of complaints for guilds who had to get their influence the ‘old way’ and perhaps a slight gold sink reduction as people would not need to pay for influence so often
(edited by Shanaeri Rynale.6897)
Proposal Overview
Improve the management of guilds by changing/adding various rights.
Goal of Proposal
Giving ranks more specific rights.
Proposal Functionality
Associated Risks
Can’t see risks for the first ones but the last one might lead to a slight spam since probably the message would be posted everytime you change guilds, but I still think it would be worth it.

- Alliance system and Chat
Goal of Proposal
- To coordinate events and better cooperation between guilds in each server.
Proposal Functionality
-Using features similar to the current guild system but adding its own tab to show the alliance page. Alliance chat can be a color change with enable/disable option.
Associated Risks
- A few risks that I imagine can happen would be “elitist” behavior from some guilds. People abusing the alliance chat (unlikely but possible) and the effect it could have in the current roster of some guilds.
Some other people wrote it much better then me lol!

Haven’t read thru the entire CDI so i’m not sure if this has already been mentioned.
Proposal Overview
Allow players only to join 1 guild instead of being able to join multiple guilds.
Goal of Proposal
To promote player loyalty in guild. I never understood the logic of allowing players to join multiple guilds. What was the benefit of that?
All i can see are people repping guilds only to attend that particular guild’s event. Why are we even allowing players to farm guild events? I’d much rather to join a guild of like-minded individuals rather then just looking at a couple of “Migrants”
Proposal Functionality
Simply remove the ability for players to join multiple guilds.
Associated Risks
None

Idk I actually like being able to be in a few different guilds. One guild is my farming guild for example and another my PvX guild and maybe a third of just IRL friends so their are a few risks but I can definitely understand the frustration of people not representing 100% of the time.
- just a little side comment if out of topic fell free to remove it :P
I love the guild chat channels and calendar suggestions so far – I had hoped we’d be able to see/communicate across all our guilds at once from the beginning. I realise that it might be too difficult to implement, though.
Proposal Overview
Make influence donatable, rather than earned automatically
Goal of Proposal
To make influence something a player can donate to their chosen guild, rather than it automatically be earned by whatever guild they are representing.
Proposal Functionality
Players earn influence in the normal way, but guilds get the bonus influence as they do now(logging on etc)
This would allow smaller guilds to have an influence boost, and give players more flexibility in how their play benefits the guild they are in.
When a player wants to donate, they go to an NPC and donates a certain amount to the guild they are currently representing. To donate to a different guild, just rep and donate.
Associated Risks
Possible increase in the ‘you must donate x amount per day’ lot, but just let them get on with it

I think you can donate influence through Guild Promoters. Go to the guild promoters and you can buy Letters of Thanks.

Guild Maps
Goal of Proposal
Allow a guild to purchase a map for a set time,say 12hrs.
The map would be an instance of the real map just locking everyone not in that guild out
Allows a Guild to farm as a unit, practise movement and bond over event chains
test their skill on major events like Teq
Risk
I spose the big risk would be guilds isolating themselves
Proposal Overview
Better officer communication tools
Goal of Proposal
A way to keep a log of people that have been banned and the reason(s). We are a larger guild in a gaming community, our turnover requires a way to inform future officers of our decisions and reasoning behind these issues.
Looser Mail/Messaging rules within the Guild- Current system stops working after only two mails are being sent. We run into this issue constantly. Frequent Guild events require prizes to be mailed to winners and we have to coordinate between the officers to be certain that all prizes are rewarded in a timely manner. Change the mail count to 5 or 6 in a short time rather than 2 before it locks you out of the functionality.
Proposal Functionality
The ban log provides a clearer communication network between officers and future officer, in organizations that, on the larger side, have a limited ability to maintain ‘corporate memory’. The Mail/Messagin change is a QoL change that, although in its current implementation is a great idea for public messaging, is to draconian within the protected areas of a guild.
Associated risks
Abuse within a guild although possible, is extremely unlikely. A poor decision on banning someone might be made, however with proper documentation these can become more obvious to future leaders.
While I think guild calendar, alliance system and more guild Missions are interesting topics, they have already been covered by others.
This is my part.
Proposal Overview:
1. More guild emblem options.
2. Visible guild name and tag on claimed keeps/towers.
3. Incentives to claim and defend keeps/towers as a guild (not just rewards).
Goal of Proposal:
1. To add diversification and identity, to increase satisfaction in seeing our own emblem.
2. To increase a guild’s reputation across servers.
3. To give a more fun and rewarding experience to guilds that help the server, and to feel a sense of ownership toward the claimed keep/tower.
Proposal Functionality:
1. Add more colors, backgrounds and symbols (ex: a tower, a ship, a snake…)
2. Allied and ostile players should be able to identify the guild by clicking on the banners on the external walls.
3. The guild should be rewarded with influence and merits for protecting the claimed keep/tower for hours/days. Also, there should be some new keep/tower upgrades accessible only to the guild members. To avoid abuse, the claim should have a little price in merits and golds.
We also need a better system to recognize and reward the defence of wvw objectives, but that’s another story.
Associated Risks:
1. None.
2. None.
3. Debates about which guild should or should not claim a keep.
I hope these suggestions get attention and help you, Chris!
Proposal Overview
1) Guild Halls
2) Additional Guild Activities
Goal of Proposal
Guild Halls: to establish more social connections among guild members in their own personal space, which could lead to improved camaraderie between members.
Guild Activities: also to establish more social connections in their own personal space. These are separate from Guild Missions
Proposal Functionality
Guild Halls could be sold to players in different packages, each catering to the guild’s needs as a whole. One such example is selling basic halls which can accomodate 10-20 players for say 50 gold and the most luxurious halls could cost around 1000 gold or higher (open for debate) and would accomodate 400 plus players. Naturally, the Guild Leader is the only one capable of buying a Guild Hall and once he purchases it, it would be immediately be made ready to access by every representing member of the guild. In addition to buying the property, the guild can help out in giving their hall more flavor by purchasing additional furniture.
Guild Activities: These activities are exclusive to the Guild Halls themselves. We can have different minigames played amongst guild members such as competitive drinking games, that Golem chess game you see on Metrica Province,
Associated Risks
For both Proposals, I can imagine the major issue would be cost, certain customization limitations, and increase chances of activities becoming stale depending on what’s available.
Proposal Overview
Guild influence and commendations tokens tranfer
Goal of Proposal
Easing the end of life of a guild and creating some sort of cooperation between guild
Proposal Functionality
When a guild is dying sometimes people would like to join another one but the risk is to lose all the benefits of the first one. Also a lot of player have a regular small guild and belong in the mean time to big guild (mostly for WvW purpose). It could be a nice feature to give an option to guild leaders to transfer some or all their influence and commendations to another guild. It should be a secured way and should always be initiated by the giving guild.
Associated Risks
One bad thing that could appear is guild where the guild leader is “stealing” every effort from other guild members towards bigger friend guilds without agreement of all the members. But this belong more to the guild organization, I don’t know if this has to be addressed by the devs.
•stacking in the guild bank should be possible without first moving it to your own inventory.
Not possible for technical reasons – multiple people may be manipulating the guildbank contents at the same time. The current system prevents that from going horribly awry or being purposefully manipulated.
Basically all it would take is a form of locking → http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_ → it shouldn’t be that hard to lock slots upon interaction for all other guild members and unlock them when everything is “done”.
Lets say I double-click an item (a stack of 100 ACs) to store it in the guild vault:
Thats more or less it. Of course the communication could be a little bit different depending on what happens (for example if there isn’t enough room for my ACs, etc.)
Drag&Drop would work similar… the moment I start dragging a stack in the guild vault, it must be locked. And the moment I drop it, the “target-slot” must be locked until all database-activity is done.
Its probably one of the most “dangerous” parts to program (screwing it up could lead to nasty dupe-bugs) but its technically possible.
I personally think these are shallow changes, you guys know what people want GvG/guild halls (which don’t fit in these categories). I think enhanced statistics through the API would be a good start, but that is so outside the game it’s not even funny. I hate to beat a dead horse, but you should know by now what guilds want, I mean there are a million posts on what can be done to improve the guild experience. I have sadface why we are focusing on these 2 things… This is feedback on our community BTW.
I love your enthusiasm Chris, i just hate that it’s so “hands tied”. Thought of or idealized features are so far removed from the game at this point… It’s an uphill battle.
It isn’t hands tied at all. We are doing this in multiple phases discussing multiple areas of guild functionality and content.
might be worth reading the thread.
Chris
I understand that, i was speaking about this particular topic. I think it’s mostly not the type of features players really want IMHO. The API suggestion would be nice, and some of the guild tools could be improved, but the meat of guild changes are typically GvG, Guild Halls, more puzzles and missions and Raids. Stuff that requires a lot more work (i imagine). It just seems like those things (while up for discussion in a CDI) are just so far away from being implemented.
Proposal Overview
Automatic guild representation for alt characters
Goal of Proposal
When a new character is created, a lot of people don’t know or don’t remember that they have to then re-represent their guild on that character. It’s a minor inconvenience and can also lead to missing discussion/questions in guild chat.
Proposal Functionality
Upon new character creation, have that character automatically begin repping whichever guild you were last representing.
Associated Risks
People used to the current method might not necessarily want to represent immediately. The guild you were last representing might not be your main guild. There might be some weird underpants gnomes way to exploit this to get influence or some form of personal gain.
but the meat of guild changes are typically GvG, Guild Halls, more puzzles and missions and Raids. Stuff that requires a lot more work (i imagine).
But if that’s what the community wants, then that is what Anet should focus on imo.
If they make a CDI about logistics and QOL, but everyone suggests introducing guild halls, then maybe it is time to actually focus on guild halls.
Besides it falls under QOL if you think about it. What could be more QOL then a special place all guild members could teleport to with many useful facilities?
Proposal Overview
Allow guilds to open their own private activity shard
Goal of Proposal
Give guilds more options for content using existing game features
Proposal Functionality
Let us unlock the ability to create our own shard/zone for any of the activities within the game. Would hopefully work similar to how we can unlock Teq, and the Worms
Associated Risks
Would probably need to disable achievements so people don’t just cheat their way through. Unsure what technical hurdles would be required
it’s cute that people think that anet will make guild halls…
can’t find right now the link but it has been already stated that they do not plan/think to do guild halls in the near future
so even if they make guild halls in 1 year from now well it will be “too little too late”

Yes you can, this is as well as being able to pay in game cash to do it(which when I’ve done it before to make my own guild bank guild is quite expensive).
A lot of people have already made suggestions about things that I agree with, so I thought I’d just throw my thoughts on those things here:
Guild Alliances/Multi-Guild Chat
This is one that is very important to me, because I’ve seen several social guilds close up shop because there just weren’t enough people around to do silly things like impromptu dungeon runs or guild events. I think this could also be the trickiest to implement, though, without completely restructuring the way guilds currently operate.
I like the idea of just using multiple channels for guild chat, because it could circumvent the need for alliances. But it could get confusing very quickly, not to mention in terms of colors. I think guild alliances is the way to go, but I don’t think that getting into combining merits/influence is the right solution for making this work. Instead, I would keep this as simple as possible and just allow for a user to see the info/message of the day for guild alliances, see events (if implemented) for all guilds, and be able to switch chat with either the primary guild or the guild alliance.
I would prefer limits to the number of members as suggested, though. I don’t think we need to make super-powerful guilds even more powerful so that they can completely take over a WvW server. Any alliance should be limited to the same number of members as a single guild. This feature should be used to help social guilds do more, not to create unstoppable zergs.
Guild Message of the Day
Someone mentioned putting this in chat as soon as a character logs in, and that seems like a good idea, but in its current form might lead to really long messages. My suggestion would be to separate a message of the day from guild information/links. On a separate note, guild description might be the only place in the game where it would be really beneficial to allow people to click through to urls.
Guild Events
I don’t know that a calendar is needed so much as a listing of events. Calendars are very tricky from a UI perspective, a list is not. But it would be really nice to just be able to add items on a schedule and let members click on whether they are coming or not. If members are coming, a reminder system might also be nice, but would just be a side benefit.

That was then and this is now. There is always the possibility that there will be one in the future.

At the moment, they are soliciting ideas for new features for guilds, and this was a topic of their choosing. If there were ever a time to suggest ideas that were previously out of reach, this is that time. Except not at this exact time, because we’re currently discussing logistics.

Yea they said many things in the past that they didn’t follow up on. People and policy’s change with time.

No. You’re just not thinking it through. (Another poster posted a slightly different implementation of this same thing, but here’s an alternate version.)
If withdrawing through drag-and-drop, you perform a check:
On begin-drag: note quantity of item
On drop: check quantity again
If quantity changed, drag-and-drop fails
If quantity is the same, move items
Proposal: (several linked ideas) remove visible representation, influence for all guilds, chat visible in all guilds.
Explanation
Allow each person to generate influence for each of the guilds they are in.
Also allow them to see the chat of each guild they are in, including guild tag (similar to gw1 AC chat).
Options:
1) /g works for the guild you “represent” (display the tag of).
2) add chat options for all guilds
Remove the visible representation icon
Reasoning
The concept of multi-repping is the source of much guild drama. People getting insta kicked for not repping, people getting grilled by officers. Officers having to go and find out why people are non repping etc. Its a huge headache for all involved.
The concept of 100% rep guilds (topic of much contention) exists SOLELY because of the costs of buffs, and the way influence is earned. This is why I would prefer to earn influence for ALL the guilds “I am in”, over “the one I represent”.
I often get asked "Why do I have to represent and help with buffs if <some other guildie> doesn’t have to!?
Similarly under the new system, guilds might demand people display their guild tag for some kind of showing off thing. Remove the visible representation icon as this would not be constructive to friendly atmosphere.
The concept of representation is also the bane of inter-guild cooperation.
The idea of multi-repping was to allow people to create their own alliances of guilds (as far as i can tell).
Currently I don’t feel “part” of other guilds, nor do members wishing to none rep feel “part” of my guild.
I want to see the chatter from ALL my guilds. I want to feel part of them all. not just part of 1 at a time.
Risks
Influence generation might need to be re-evaluated.
Cost of buffs definitely needs to be re-evaluated.
Balance may require people to be in fewer guilds. 3 was suggested to me.
My thoughts on this are based upon discussions with my co-leaders, and members. Additionally the discussion in this thread:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Guilds-5/first#post4378848
While I was rather excited to participate in this CDI, I just can’t justify it anymore, especially not for free; I made a sig, and I’m more then happy to spend my free time and thinking capability on this game, if requirements are met …
Today for me is a really sad day… details on the china release pushed something over the limit, and for me this isn’t GuildWars anymore. No ideals, industry standard behaviour, it’s sad, but I can’t justify to support that…

Guild Permission Overhaul
More granularity is needed for existing guild permissions and to fill in missing permissions.
Missing permission for the Deep Cave section of the guild vault. Current permission is lumped in to the Treasure Trove, but no documentation or message tells this. (Also +1 on various other posts asking for increased functionality with the vault in general.)
Admin Lower Ranks include guild invite permission – again no documentation tells this. Split out a specific guild invite permission.
Mission Control is very lacking – all it controls is who can start the upgrade item in the guild panel. What it should control is who can interact with objectives, and who can accept guild credit. In even medium sized guilds, starting bounties or challenges before everyone is there is a problem and means some members don’t get credit and commendations. Accepting guild credit can also deprive members of credit for rushes or puzzles – say you’ve got a group of 30 people, and show up to a rush that another guild is doing – but there’s only 3 minutes left – it only takes one to run through ahead of everyone else instead of waiting to screw over everyone else.
Proposal Overview:
Change the guild member list that it shows all characters of a player that are representing the guild
Goal of Proposal:
When a player has several characters that are in different guilds (are representing different guilds) the guild member list shows only the character that is current online, even if the character is not representing the guild. This can lead to confision and can lead to questions sometimes “why are you not representing our guild?”
Proposal Functionality:
The guild member list shows (one character per entry) all characters of a player that are representing this guild with “character name” and “player name”
The member status of a character in the member list will be changed to:
The “last login” field should show the time when that character was last “online”, not when the player was last online

Title: Guild UI
Proposal Overview:Changes to the User Interface to more closely reflect the recent changes to various other interfaces and to add new UI features.
Goal of Proposal: Increased functionality of the UI will assist in the management of information to the guild members from the officers
Proposal Functionality: It would integrate directly with the current interface after it is reworked to match other in game UI’s
Guild Mission Statement
On the opening page of the Guild UI there should be a spot for the Guild’s Mission statement. It would be an area maintained by the Guild Leader/Officers in which when the (G)uild UI window is opened, they are able to see what the guild’s purpose is.
For example:
The Pious Knights are a predominately PvE, fun-loving, laidback, good humored, small to medium sized social guild. We exist to promote comradery, conversation and community in the GW2 world.
Guild Chat
As was in GW1, If when a character logs in s(he) is repping a guild, the guild Message of the Day would pop up in the chat window. This would also happen when someone chooses to change guild representation.
Guild Mail
A system to mass email various groups of guildies would be quite nice. Some possible options:
Last Represented
With the addition of the last logged on feature(many thanks for that), also being able to see when a player last represented the guild would also be a worthwhile feature.
Leave Guild Button
Please move this button and or make it harder to hit by mistake. A mistake like this could be devastating, especially for Single person guilds and Guild Leaders
Associated Risks: Like with any communication between two or more people, the officers could abuse via making mass visual off color statements but then why would you be in that kind of guild in the first place?
Proposal Overview:
Simply the guild upgrade system by removing the build queue.
Goal of Proposal:
The goal of this proposal is to remove all the frustrating micromanagement that goes into managing upgrades, by simplifying the system. I’m recommending that the build queue be removed entirely, and in its place all upgrades will fall into two modes: Instant Buy, and Cost Per Day.
This improves upon the current system, which requires constant babysitting and fidgeting. If you want to keep a buff up 24/7 it requires a coordinated group effort. There is no reason why it should need to take this much effort.

Completely agree, a built in calendar (which automatically compensates for timezones) with in-game announcements would be amazing!
Proposal: Guild Halls (with or without a GvG approach to keeping them active from other PVP adversaries)
Goals: (Without) Travel times too costly, not enough in game non-combat activities. (With) Bringing back the Guild vs Guild system. Gear progression and the ability to experiment with builds without the huge gold cost for changing out entire gear sets for the purposes of PVE.
Functionality: In game option for travel without purchase from store (unlike the racial hearthstones introduced recently) to get to the essentials in vendors. Functionality could include rare material farming, farms, housing elements, minigames with meaningful rewards. Inclusion of a banking system that actually reproduces a portion of every player’s earned gold in order to help with repair costs and purchase guild resources. Included would be the option of getting high end guild only sigils/runes and gear that have elastic traits for karma or even (Tier 7 material overflow) available after the reaches a certain tier (and guild members of tier 2 membership). I’d also like to see the guild progression actually occur from player activities, if you’re a member and you participate in meta events that xp goes towards the guild development, same goes for guild missions (but not all limited to solely guild missions or dungeons only). The guild hall if without GvsG attack options could be an airship. With GvsG it could be a citadel. Guild halls that are destroyed could be rebuilt within a time frame say 48 hours. Those defending could receive chests with valuables from the success of the fight or those attacking could receive these chests in increments. Skills players have like the healing skills could help repair walls or repair sieges, skills players have that use explosions or fire effects could cause structural damage. Vendors with direct purchaseable items like Tier 6 lodestones without RNG.
Risks would include either making it too easy or too difficult to build guilds to a high enough tier to include a guild hall, people recruiting with autoinvites for the purposes of having enough bodies logged in, not having a limit on the number of attackers to prevent facerolling a wall for example. Not having an easy enough time with 400 players in your guild getting the guild to a high enough tier to include weapons/gear/sigils/runes for use by the guild. A tendency to make the guild progression all about the store and gem to gold conversion rather than participation in game. Not having a ginormous repair guild hall cost. Accidentally allowing multiple attacks on an already destroyed guild hall. Allowing guild leaders the ability to keep people at Tier 1 reaping the benefits of those players without ever allowing them access to the storehouses, perhaps a lower Tier 1 resource building bonus for having said players in the guild, requiring Tier 2 (and thus access to all guild stores) be implemented to allow for players to contribute more but still have access to said Stores of resources.

Title: Guild Missions
Proposal Overview: A QoL Change to the overall system of the Guild missions.
Goal of Proposal: Allow small/medium size or guilds without a current large representation participate in the events.
Proposal Functionality:
Our Guild is small with only a few daily active members of our 20 or so roster. So the Guild Missions as they currently exist are just not something we can participate in. The Missions take more of an active force then we can muster. Now I understand that some missions should require large groups to be successfully completed and that is just fine but we many Guilds, are not all cut from the same cloth.
There should be some things that the small and medium sized guilds can do to contribute to the grand guild brotherhood.
Yes I know there is Guild Bounty Training but that does not yield any Merits only influence. If we need to contribute influence, we can currently just buy it.
Guild Alliances Would be a possible way to circumvent the current mission feature but I think that Alliances fall more under New Content not QoL or Logistics so I will reserve further iteration until we get to the New Content Phase.
Associated Risks: There would have to be some sort of scaling system put in place so that the Large guilds could not take advantage of doing a mission slotted for a Smaller guild.
Sorry I don’t have more to contribute on this one but as I don’t do them, I just don’t have much to suggest.
See?
This looks like an exploit to me
Guys, guild halls will be in another phase of this CDI. They’re starting off with interface issues before going on to bigger topics.
Now, my next proposal. Yalora mentioned this above but buried with other cool ideas.
Proposal Overview
Make it very hard to leave a guild by accident.
Goal of Proposal
To prevent loss of personal guild banks and their contents, or guild leaders losing control of their guilds to a random member who then wrecks the guild. To prevent the tension involved in every rep swap when hopping to a personal guild for inventory management … “Will this be the moment I click the wrong button and lose it all?”
Proposal Functionality
- Move the Leave Guild button away from other frequently used buttons.
- Make the Leave Guild button obviously dangerous — perhaps make it red and octagonal shaped (though that is more a warning to US players, maybe, as it looks like a Stop Sign for drivers).
- Give a warning popup. If you are the sole member of the guild, “Warning: This will disband the guild and all items in the guild bank will be destroyed. Proceed?” If you are the leader, “Warning: You are stepping down from leadership and may not be able to return to your leader position. Proceed?” If you are a regular member, “Warning: You are leaving (Guild Name). You will no longer have access to guild benefits. Proceed?”
Associated Risks
Rearranging a UI can cause bugs. Popups can annoy some players. It could be hard to detect the leaver’s status to get the correct warning showing. There may be complaints about the aesthetics or the assumption the player is “too stupid” to know better than to leave the guild.

Proposal Overview
Allow viewing and speaking in all joined guilds chats without representation.
Goal of Proposal
To avoid missing out on conversations due to representing another guild. Also allows for having a conversation while building influence for smaller guilds.
Proposal Functionality
Have a tick box for each guild joined , i.e G1,G2,G3,G4 which can be placed into separate tabs and each have their own text colour. Replying would be automatic for each guilds sub-tab and via /G1 /G2 etc for the main tab.
Associated Risks
Less motivation for people to represent different guilds if they like their first one.
Volume of chat may overwhelm people in multiple large scale guilds.
Seeing as other people already posted interesting improvements on this subject, i will try to aim at something i haven’t see so much
Proposal Overview
Make guilds actually be useful. Right now guilds are scattered….don’t matter that much and have no impact on the player other then chat. Main reason behind this in my opinion is the ability to be in multiple guilds at the same time. I personally don’t like this because in most cases it makes players not be loyal to a guild they joined or encourages spying. There should be consequences for either leaving a guild OR for being in multiple to discourage these types of behavior.
Goal of Proposal
To make guilds actually MEAN something. The fact i can be part of X guilds does not help AT ALL and makes them seem useless overall.
Proposal Functionality
Make the number of guilds u could join max 2. Timegate the time u could join another guild (after leaving the previous) to …i dunno..2-3-4 weeks? Also make a log of what guilds Player X has been part of, when he joined them and when he left. This way future guilds he might join know exactly who they are dealing with and decide if he fits the guild or not.
Associated Risks
Honestly i don’t see any.

Proposal Overview
Guild auto queuing system for upgrades
Goal of Proposal
The goal of this proposal is to improve the lives of guild managers by making it easier to plan long term repeatable building queues for things like Karma/Drop Boots, Guild Missions, Etc.
Proposal Functionality
Along with the standard queuing function, there should be an additional box dedicated to an “auto queue” where a guild can assign upgrades that can be activated immediately after their build queue is finished. These upgrades would not have to be manually activated upon completion and would run until their maximum number of built upgrades are achieved or the guild runs out of resources during the building process.
Associated Risks
Accidental building of guild upgrades that people have forgotten to remove from auto queue? Lazy guild leaders? Human Error!
I don’t like picking on people, but Rebound, I hope you and others will find these comments helpful. This certainly isn’t limited to you; this is a pervasive problem on these CDIs.
I see a lot of this.
Associated Risks
Honestly i don’t see any.
But your suggestion was…
Proposal Functionality
Make the number of guilds u could join max 2.
You don’t see any risks with that change? What about people who are in more than 2 guilds now? What about people who have guilds for different game modes… I could no longer have a guild for PvE, a guild for WvW, and a guild for sPvP. Heck, if I so much as have a guild for an extra bank, that limits me to just one guild!
Guys, PLEASE think about ways in which your proposals could:
It’s fun to think “I have the best idea ever and there’s nothing wrong with it and everybody will love it and it won’t do anything bad only good yaaaaay!” but that’s rarely the case.
Even as a guild leader, I don’t want people to only be able to rep 2 guilds. That change would absolutely tear some guilds apart.
QoL Proposal
Guild Message of the Day appearing in the chat window (upon login AND upon switching guilds so that all Guild MotDs appear in the chat window).
There are no drawbacks to this. Only less headaches for leaders so they dont have to explain to guildies that, “Yes, in fact there are guild missiobns tonight like it says in the MotD!”. My custom arena shows my message of the day in chat. Why doesn’t my guild message of the day do so?
Proposal Overview
World-chat for communicating with members of your home world.
Goal of Proposal
While this may not seem like a guild problem, it’s become significantly harder to do guild recruiting in the Megaserver age. I consider this an absolutely necessary guild QOL change. Making guilds cross-world was nice, but guilds that do a substantial amount of World vs World may wish to limit recruiting to players on their home world. (Might make a separate proposal for this, but we need to be able to see the World of members in the guild roster as well.)
In addition, we often run WvW events that we wish to publicize to our world. We don’t want to inform enemy worlds that we are running these events. (Also, it seems spammy and rude to be messaging a bunch of people who can’t join.)
Proposal Functionality
Add a world chat option which messages all members who are members of your world. This should not include members who are guesting on your world. Ideally, this should message every world member in the current map regardless of Megaserver shard.
Meaning: if I send a message in Lion’s Arch to /world, all Sanctum of Rall players in Lion’s Arch will receive the message.
The option should be enabled by default on the main chat tab.
Associated Risks
As always, you have to worry about spamming and gold-selling. The existing flood control should perform reasonably well in preventing major issues.
Enabling the option by default could cause some difficulty for players who have heavily customized their chat tabs.
QoL Proposal
A toggle function for showing unpartied guildies on the mini map as dots in PvE for guild missions. This also includes a function for Commander Tags where only guild members can see the commander tag on the map and mini map.
Guild Functionality
Proposal Overview
Ability to distinguish a guild’s own commander tag(s)
Goal of Proposal
To remedy the visibility of other commander tags up from other guilds in the map and to be able to identify with a glance which tags belong to your guild.
Proposal Functionality
Have an icon that will only be visible by the guild you are representing next to the commander tag(s) from your guild. This way, other none guild people can still see the commander tag, but only people within the guild will know those tags belong to them.
This is greatly a problem when doing guild missions and you have a bazillion guilds with tags up all over the place.
Associated Risks
I’m not sure.
Proposal Overview:
A way to rename guilds.
Goal of Proposal:
Being able to rename guilds
Proposal Functionality
There are loads of guilds that changed over last 2 years or have a Name they wanna Change with much time invested ect so it be nice if you could rename them.
BTW did I miss somthing or is the guild vault not accessible anymore?:)
I second this. My current guild is named after the server we were on… this no longer applies to the new megaserver paradigm. Please let us rename our guild. It seems like such a small change to be able to implement. I’m sure you will need to put something in place so people won’t abuse it (make it cost gold/influence, etc.) and I understand that, but let us have the option. Perhaps just a one-time name change since the new megaserver system came out?
