Before I get to the main post, I would like to say that this thread isn’t for those that feel that GW2 does not need saving. If you think the game is more or less going well, then this thread isn’t for you. Feel free to read (naturally), but I do ask that you not derail the thread. (I can do that myself, thank you.)

Now, for those of us that feel that GW2 is headed in the wrong direction, I have a couple of questions. The first and most obvious is: “Can it still be saved?” If it can’t, then there’s really nothing to do but get what enjoyment we can out of it, and wait for the next good game to come along.

If you think it CAN still be saved, then there’s a second question. And to be honest, this is the real question here. “Is it our job to save it?” Is it, in any way, our job to try to convince, cajole, or force the devs of ANet to make the changes we think they need to make to save this game?

I’ve seen a lot of posts and comments from people saying things like “Until they fix (Problem X), they’re not seeing any more money from me.” And if that’s because you simply don’t like the game enough to support it any more, that’s fine. But if it’s to force the developers into changing the game, then I have to ask if it’s worth it. If spending a bit of money in the gemstore will make your game time more enjoyable, is it worth denying yourself that in order to attempt to sway ANet’s decisions? In a year’s time, will you even care?

I’m a casual player, and yes I like to get some things from the gemstore or use gems to buy gold to speed things along for me. Never in huge amounts, but it makes my game time more fun. And after the big “feature” patch, I declared no more money for ANet until they apologized for wiping themselves with town clothes, and undid the damage. But then I realized something, I really don’t care. Yes, it matters to me right here and now, but not in the long run. There’s a couple of games I’m waiting for, and I’ll be dropping GW2 the minute I can go to what I feel is a better game. I’ve given plenty of feedback, as have others, and ANet has made their lack of interest in both the feedback and certain kinds of players quite clear. I’ve done my part, there’s little point in making the game worse for myself in a clearly futile attempt to make a point.

I guess what I’m trying to say is if you don’t think the game can be saved, or you feel you’ve already done your part, then stop spoiling the game for yourself. Enjoy what parts of it you can, buy a few gems if they’ll make the game more fun for you. Just do it knowing that the game is what it is, and when the time comes we’ll all be playing other games.

It’s not our job to save ANet or GW2. Don’t throw away chances to have fun trying to do so. And if, in a few years, GW2 crashes and ANet gets wiped off the map? That’s really not our problem. Give feedback, yes, but beyond that we’re here to enjoy ourselves, not to keep them employed.

Sarcasm, delivered with a
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

Don’t see how any of us could force or sway ArenaNet or NCsoft to do anything other than what they want to do. We can choose to give feedback. We can choose to buy or not buy from the gem store. We can choose to play or not to play. Outside of that there isn’t much we can do.

Judging from their past performance, no, I don’t think GW2 can be “saved” anymore. If I’m wrong in that – then I’ll be happy. As for just playing GW2 for what we ourselves find enjoyable and waiting for another game to play…. I think GW2 will be my last game for a long time. My Xbox has been boxed up for 7 months now and I’ve no interest in dusting it off. I also feel that I’ve wasted a lot of my life on PC gaming too… Its all rather disappointing.

Also what I find enjoyable in GW2 is shrinking by the day and seems to only be adding stress to my life. The ONLY reason I’m logging in when I do now is for my friends. Its gotten to a point where I don’t care about dailies, monthlies, achievements, LS, rewards, etc etc. I really don’t give a kitten . What do I still care about? Making sure my friends that still like GW2 have as much fun as possible.

I’ve become rather jaded with GW2 gameplay, content, and … and even the players themselves. The odds of me wishing to kill nearby “allies” is increasing each night. Can you imagine that? Heh. I find myself wishing that I could drag the players that stay dead at events to a nearby cliff and push them off. Or if I spot someone that is just spamming their 1 skill, I like to think of creative ways of killing them myself. * shrugs *

Wonder if I’ve been transforming into a troll since 4/15.

Again, I truly wish the game gets better. That it lives up to what it was advertised to be. Coming from years of Guild Wars play – I suppose I’m just too loyal in GW2 when I shouldn’t be.

That is more complex problem. I don’t exactly know the numbers of players who say that they quit GW2, tho some of them are those who were unhappy about introduction of “superior elite gear”, while believed that gear wouldn’t be any stronger than max lvl gear, like in GW1 it was.

Korea is the strong consumer of GW2, according to one source, while America and Europe are lower and had drop too, while Korea seem to have not.

Although I also didn’t like the removal of town clothes, but more annoyed that town clothes are now tonic, which takes space.
Traits pushed to lvl 30 was abit extreme too, though thankfully I maxed 1 of each profession before Feature update.
Megaservers clearly need GW1 style “district” selection system, along with the queue and Reconnect feature like in GW1. Since the sorting function doesn’t seem to work at all, when automatic…

Gemstore on other hand, ANet gains very little from it. Most of the profit goes to NCsoft, who will use the money, along with the money from other games “store profits” along the % of published games sales, to produce and publish games they want, not necessarily use it on GW2 expansions.

I’m a casual PvE adventurer, I enjoy combat, adventure and helping, but not farming.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

The game will continue to thrive and get content regardless of what you think.

Even SWG, the greatest failure of an MMO in history last 5+ years after its “failure” and gained regular content updates. And even then it was profitable until the day they shut it down due to failure to renew their licence, not lack of players. (They only had 20k players at the end and it was still profitable)

Are you sure that GW2 need to be saved by the player base or from the player base because every thing Anet changed was because of the player base asking for things you can see it if you look at a long view and old post.

Champ bags are the best example of this players asked for a reason to kill champs so Anet added in bags players wanted bags to be less rewarding so anet nerfed the bags players still wanted champ farms to be dead anet removed some of the major champs from them game and made them vents.

At the end of the day i think its the players who use these forms to promote there own selfish wants onto an entire player base is more want the game needed saving from then any thing else.

The goal’s a bit obtuse, is it not? There’s hundreds of pages of feedback of what ANet can do to get the game back on track.

Fix Traits.
Give more PvP modes.
Provide better matchups in WvW.
Reward us for our time invested.
Make enemies more interesting and engaging.
After Trahearne and Scarlet, get better writers.

Jury’s currently out on Living Story, but they were listening. The upcoming content is permanent, and an extension on level 80 gameplay. I’m hopeful, but wary.

True that.
Compromising fixes and/or content is preferred. Like when they introduced the Bobblehead Laboratory. Good for those that like it and doesn’t harm those that don’t.

For other topics its usually good to go with the majority. Problem is that many issues have multiple sides, not just black and white. Also hard to tell what the majority truly is because not everyone voices themselves here.

No it won’t be saved nor is it the community job to fix it
Sure we can provide feedback, but its completely pointless if goes against anet’s philsophy

Fastest selling MMO so yea this game had tons of hype and plenty of potential, just like diablo 3. Unfortunately a big portion of those players quit because there really is nothing rewarding or challenging to hardcore MMO players/ PvP players.

Nothing legendary about getting a legendary. You either win the lottery or just pull out your credit card and win.
PvP haha, the hype around getting this game to e-sports level is comical. the amount of twitch viewers on anet’s big pvp tourneys is terribly low and not even a blip on the radar of e-sports. Thats the reason why I bought this game and continue to play it occasionally. PvP was an absolute blast in gw1, where I couldn’t wait to get home from school and get our team together for seriously intense fun. Most avid GW1 pvp players will agree they don’t get this same feelingn in gw2 pvp

gemstore is what anet is concerned about the most. If you don’t think that is their number 1 priority, you are delusional. Unfortunetly with such a huge focus on LS+gemstore, the PvP aspect (including WvW) of this game gets shafted big time.

I’m not even going to bother talking about PvE in gw2, its abysmally dull and boring , but yea great for casual players though.

That being said, the potential for this game to be awesome is there…I just don’t believe we will see it without a change of design philosophy from anet

Just wanted to pop in and say something about this. Instead of opening up a topic for healthy discussion, you’ve dissuaded anyone having a view point that is contrary to yours to participate. By doing that, all that you’ve done is create a QQ thread that only caters to those of a like mind. Which can only result in one thing. A collection of posts that offer nothing in the form of feedback, or suggestions that will do anything to help “save” the game. It’s a one sided converstation that in the end, will do more harm than good, as there is no perspective of any other view points and experiences, which is needed for a healthy and productive discussion to take place to make the changes that need to happen.

pretty much this.
The community has already given enough feedback. Its almost 2 years since GW2 has been released and the abundance of feedback is incredible. Fortuneteller a lot of it falls on deaf ears.

I think LS2 will be anets last big opportunity to retain the playerbase.
If there isn’t xpac like content by year 3, it’s probably finished.

“Back on track” based on whose views OP? You obviously don’t like it, and you bluntly try to shut off the comments from those who do. So you’re saying that instead of developing “their game,” ArenaNet should instead sit down and let people like you dictate what they do and don’t do? Now it becomes the game you like, but what about others? Is it now their turn to ask “How do we save this game?” So should Anet then sit down with those people and do what they like? Potentially re-ruining it for you, or for some other group.

The simple fact of the matter is that not all games are for all people. Take a long look at GW1; there were a kitten ton of people that absolutely did not like, still do not like, but that didn’t stop if from being a successful game that lots of others (including myself) love, even to this day. GW2 will end up much the same. You either hang out for the ride and you move on. Just how life works.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

I’ve never seen the logic of buying gems or not buying gems based on anything except whether you like the item you’re buying and think it’s worth the cash/gold.

How could Anet possibly know that you bought a new armor skin because you like the last round of balance updates? Or didn’t buy a new bank tab because you didn’t enjoy the last Living Story release?

There’s just too much of a disconnect between the two for them to be able to draw any conclusions unless gem sales dropped dramatically immediately after an extremely controversial update, and then they’d already know people weren’t happy from the fact that it’s controversial.

I can understand not wanting to pay money to a company you’re unhappy with, but not expecting them to know exactly how and why you came to that conclusion. Or even knowing that you considered spending money and didn’t.

Great sentiment.

Just the title seemed like you would start with a rant in the fashion you are criticizing, there are people that thought you had done that and answered accordingly.

I hope many things could be better in Guild Wars 2. But I researched the competition and came to the conclusion that there would be no other game I would like to play more, at least for now (waiting for some Wilstar reviews, but the strong focus on pwning and competition turns me off).

Sometimes I go to the forum and post some ideas of mine, or show support to a idea I like. But I don’t expect the developers to implement it, if they do, yay, game more fun for me. I had thought of the wardrobe idea months before the Feature Patch, but never posted it, and I was very happy when they implemented it. By themselves!
Traits, on the other hand, was a rushed thoughtless change, but that made me play in another fashion and discover more of the game (mini dungeons, JPs), and collaborate more with strangers. That’s at least a silver lining.

This is not a democracy, and even if it was, it irritates me a lot when people try to sell their opinion as “the sentiment of the whole player base”.
Whenever Arenanat wants to consult the “player base”, they will open a vote, those are cheap to make.

That’s the thing, which majority?. IIRC I read somewhere that in average less than 5% of an MMO population ever use the forums, and those who do tend to be biased towards a more negative opinion (it’s human nature to be more predisposed to look for a place to complain rather than one to praise).

For example, to use a heated debate, the RNG chests for rewards (note, I’m not supporting them, and actually I’d rather they used a less random way to get rewards, but that’s not the point), which are a general source of complains in the forums. Let’s say that anytime RNG chests are introduced, they see 500 unique accounts complaining about them on the forums… but in the same time period they see 2000 people in game actively farming and opening them (some massively as well, since we always see posts of “I opened X thousand boxes, here’s what I got” both on forums and on reddit)… which should they consider to be the majority there?.

And of course there are cases where it’s just impossible to listen to everyone… for example, the Tequatl fight… ever since release there have been people asking for more challenging content (heck, I remember posting LOOONG before the tequatl revamp asking for an increase of difficulty for some bosses, specifically the three dragon champions, tequatl, claw of jormag and the shatterer)… and as soon as it’s introduced, more people complaining about how it was too hard and should be reversed the way it was before.

Actually reminds me a bit of politics… here in Venezuela when the constitution was changed in 1999, the government was saying how it was perfect and the best and most progresive constitution of the continent while the oposition was saying how it was just a tool of the government to get power and so on… fast forward several years later, the same government is complaining about how the constitution is holding necesary changes back, it’s outdated and needs to be changed, and the same oposition is yelling about how it’s perfect as it is, and it’s the best constitution ever.

They honestly don’t need gem store revenue as a metric on content, anyway.

They have actual metrics of how many people log in, how many times events were run, etc. If something is unpopular, they’ll know, eventually.

I don’t know what they are doing or what they are planing, but currently PvE, WvW or sPvP (especially last two) are not receiving enough substantial updates to keep the game fresh for those who have played since the launch.

As a WvW player, I have literally nothing to look forward. Balance updates are far too infrequent. Neither do devs (which many would argue that there are no WvW devs left) show any interest.

The game feels exactly the same as it did 2 years ago.

1. Your sig is fantastic and made me giggle
2. I think we tend to forget that Anet has finite resources. I actually had a much longer response typed up but the forum didn’t post it when I clicked enter and I lost it…. oh well. I am heavily invested in this game but I’ve also felt frustrated since… basically the end of Season 1 and the April 15th patch felt like mostly things that made my life harder, not easier. I think the only things I didn’t have mixed feelings about were account-wide dyes and an ingame list of all the skins I don’t have yet.
3. Waiting July 1 before I pass more judgement.

TLDR: I love this game, waiting for more stuff that I can work towards by playing the game/stuff that isn’t walled behind RNG or the gemstore (housing supported by some kind of crafting profession?! ARCHITECT?! Legendary furniture? Craftable outfits…. a kimono and Dwayna’s Regalia from GW1)

To OP, I don’t get it why I am not allowed to say that I don’t agree with you and also show Anet that I do not agree with your view of whats good or bad. For me since the Feature patch I have been spending even more Gems to buy cosmetics becouse now I can buy one and get it for all my chars and I don’t have to worry that it will be lost forever if I choose to wear something else. Also townclothing stuff they did was awesome that we now can use them in combat and I can mx and match my hats with my armor. The only shame is that the specific townclothes are now a full set only but it is such a small part of everything that has been better.

Aaaaand… When we talk about other games, I just ordered Bravely Default for DS and will play it alot now and before that I was playing Disgaea D2 and more or less didn’t play GW2 at all. This was now during the wait after feature patch and now. I have been playing alittle on and off with my friends or solo doing some HJsPvP but mostly I have been playing Disgaea D2. But still I have spent money to get gems and now I am so looking forward for 1 July and I will probably play GW2 more than Bravely Default for a while and when I don’t have more to do in GW2 I will play less again and more other games and it will continue like that.

Rant:
What makes GW2 more uniqe that other MMO’s? It is the living story, those who like the LS and GW2 will come back whenever there is a new chapter and do you know the best part about GW2? You don’t have to pay a single dime to come back and enjoy the ongoing content compaired to other MMO’s where you are mostly iether forced to pay a monthly(To use the full content) and/or an expansion pack.
So what makes GW2 different to a regular non-MMO game? Well it has a Bi-weekly update scedual and there is new content every now and then. So why do you think that people can pick up the old game from their cellar plug it in and play it again after 10 years? I mean old classic games like Zelda and Super Mario does not get any updates but still people play them and as kong as you don’t buy gems GW2 is not any harder to pick up and play as any of these old Pay-once-to-play Nes-games.

Rant(TL:DR):
Ehh… My whole point of that last rant is that with GW2 you can put it away for a few years and always comeback and have a look and it won’t cost you to do that. As long as new players start and old players come back this game will live for a long long time.

I think Anet has done a darn good job with this game and for listening on their playebase as much as they do. So many Devs are active here on the forums and they try to please us all without getting their spirits in a downedstate with all this wining. Some of us are very pleased by their work and I beleave in them.

You’re closing the discussion to those won’t don’t have the same opinion as you, not sure that’s a really healthy way of using a forum.

Several of you don’t seem to be getting what I typed while half-asleep this morning (and apologies for that), so let me try and sum it up a bit differently.

Hey guys! While I loved GW2 at start and still see some great stuff in this game, ANet’s upset me with some of the stuff they’ve done to it. Rather than just giving some feedback and letting it go, I let myself get all worked up about it, and was actually making the game LESS fun for myself because of it. I’ve recently realized this, and am currently trying to chill the feline out. I know I’m not the only one that got all worked up about it, though. Maybe more of us need to rethink and enjoy what parts of the game we still find fun, instead of basically punishing ourselves in the hopes that ANet will notice?

(As you can see, this isn’t about the game so much as it is an attempt at a discussion WITH the unhappy players. Thus, the note saying that it’s not for the happy players.)

It is worth it. The only leverage consumers have to encourage businesses to provide a quality product that is to their liking is to refuse to buy. If they spend their money on such a product anyway, then they are encouraging the company to continue along a path the consumer does not like. This is especially important if the issue they have with the product is lack of quality. Encouraging companies to cut corners on quality is not good for consumers in the long run.

Businesses don’t feel the hit if a single person refuses to buy their products. They do feel it if large numbers of people do so. However, if people succumb to the thought that their actions don’t matter, and if enough people just give up, then those larger trends will not manifest.

But closing it to the happy players prevents the unhappy players and the happy players from coming to middle ground. The solution that will create the most happy players possible.

Because the solution the unhappy players come up with to save the game, might ruin the game for the happy players. But a happy player who is sympathetic to the unhappy players might have an idea that would please the unhappy players while not ruining the game for the happy players. A solution that the unhappy players didn’t think of.

A hey, solution X to legit problem A would really interfere with how I play. What about solution Y?

Just because players are happy with how the game is doesn’t mean we aren’t aware or unsympathetic to the fact that others aren’t happy. Nor does it prevent us from coming up with possible solutions.

+1

for a lack of caring too much, basically, haters gonna hate. it’s nothing special that there’s a group of people who avidly try to hate the game but regardless, keep playing.

i dont think he was saying not to respond, just saying that his message is really to those that are unsatisfied.

Honestly i think the guy likes to spend money to get what he wants, and not getting what he wants is not making the game fun for him. So he is trying to justify going back on his declaration to himself.

Basically like someone decides they are breaking up with their lover because they have no future in the long term, and they are going to stop having sex with them. But then they realize they like having sex with them, even if the relationship is going nowhere. So his plan is just to have sex and dump the person when the time comes without a word.

Is it wrong or right? who knows, just saying, he isnt really trying to solve anything, just saying hey i think its cool to just accept it as it is, and not try to do anything that MIGHT improve things, and move on when you get a good oppurtunity.

Not quite, but close.

Story time: I don’t like to grind for money in this game (or most games, for that matter). Dungeons, EotM, and all that stuff I either dislike or downright hate. I enjoy just running around in the world, or roleplaying. When I decided to stop buying gems, I knew I’d still want things from the gemstore. So, I decided that I’d grind out the gold I needed, convert laurels to gold (via T6 bags), and so on to buy the gems I would want.

After about a month of forcing myself to do stuff I didn’t like and tossing away most of my laurels, I realized what an idiot I was being. I was forcing myself to play the parts I hated, and leaving myself little time for the stuff I actually wanted to do. So, I backed off and over the course of a couple of days, rethought my actions.

The fact is, even if ANet suddenly followed every suggestion I gave them, I’d still be leaving in a year or two when some other games hit the market. GW2 is a time filler between games, nothing more. Not only was it not worth the effort, but it might have even been a bit dishonest of me to make suggestions without admitting that I’m not here for the long haul.

Realizing that, and knowing that I’ll still give feedback when I feel it’s called for, I see nothing wrong with buying the occasional gem card.

Basically like someone decides they are breaking up with their lover because they have no future in the long term, and they are going to stop having sex with them. But then they realize they like having sex with them, even if the relationship is going nowhere. So his plan is just to have sex and dump the person when the time comes without a word.

More like I’m going to a restaurant that has okay food, not bad but not good. I’ve left comment cards telling them about the problems, but they don’t seem to care. When a better place opens up down the street, they really don’t have grounds to act surprised that I’m going to stop eating there and go to the new place. Until then, their food is at least better than my own attempts at what can only jokingly be called cooking.

Are you asking if GW2 can be saved financially, or saved with player retention?

Both of those go in hand-in-hand. GW2 needs player retention, and this is where it’s failing. Hopefully, Season 2 will offer more things to do, but i’m not optimistic.

Okay….you basically say that anyone who disagrees the game needs to be saved should shut up and sit in the corner. Getting pretty tired of some of the people in this game that feel they are entitled to have something done “their” way. I love the game as it stands. Many I know that do as well. If you really dont like the game I just have to wonder why you are here at all.

Hmmm…

Can GW2 be saved? Not for me, I don’t think. Never say never and given that I can presumably pop back in at any time at only the cost of downloading some updates, I won’t say that I’ll never touch it or enjoy it again.. but I’m not optimistic.

Is it the our job to save the game? Yes and no. I do definitely feel that players who invest time and money into a game like they do an MMO have every right to voice their opinions and, honestly, expect them to at least be responded to. It is the developers job to design the game as they see fit, but it’s also the developers job given the investment levels the players have to have an open and honest dialogue about what those plans are. At the end of the day, however, it’s not up to the players to design the game and if the game isn’t pleasing you then I really do feel it’s best to just walk away and find a game that will. I just wish the developers would be honest and open about where they’re going with things so that fewer players feel left in the lurch and left on the hook about whether they should stay or go.

Anet has chosen the path they want this game to take and despite how passionately the player base want them to listen it is going to fall on deaf ears, In answer to the question i personally don’t think it can be saved.

Ride it out and enjoy what you can while you can.

Saving it from what? If you’re talking about failing, I doubt it will.
But if you’re talking about it becoming just another random mmorpg reskinned with tyrian lore, then, probably they could still do something about it, because they have a lot of feedback. They just have to want to do it, when (and if) they will have to do it it will be too late.

Personally I will never play an online rpg anymore after this.
I will probably try the character creator of black desert if it will be free, just for fun, but I will stop there (no level cap, really? pff).
Because I hate mmorpg, and I bought GW2 mainly for that reason (like I did with GW1).

They merge and create threads for Feedback, then nothing at all., example the Traits Feedback thread, 29 pages and NO Anet comment since they created it !

GW2 seems to be doing fine. It’s in no need of saving at this time.

Anet communicates just fine. The problem is too many forum posters like to twist every thing they say in to promises carved in stone and then scream “UNFAIR” whenever the posters wildest requests don’t come true. Personally, I wouldn’t let the devs post on this board if I was in charge of Anet. There are too many people on these forums that are just looking to start a fight with the devs.

Simply put, with every change ANet makes to the game, the less likely they will be able to revert and "save’ the game.

What I have noticed since game release is this tendency to add really some universally good changes that are saddled with some horrible elements.

An obvious example is how the so called “gap” between Exotic and Legendary gear was handled…

But more recently the Trait system overhaul: great positive changes were made but ANet decided to lump in gate-keeper content and drastically reduce player’s sense of progression by spreading out the trait point gains.

This has effectively killed the game for me when it comes to playing a new character…the tedium and dryness of leveling is intolerable. Having to wait until level cap in order to have a rewarding build undermines the glorious flexibility we had before the change.

ANet is destroying the game by countering every thing that made the game appealing to free-form players who took to heart the “play it your way” ideal.

The more ANet keeps forcing players to jump through select hoops, the worse things will become.

It was far better when a player could choose from a thousand different roads in order to reach a goal, ANet is actively working to limit players choices down to but one or two paths.

It’s guided devolution, ANet is slowly, and apparently intentionally, degrading the strong points that attracted players to GW2 in the first place.

As several other posters have asked here. what exactly do you mean by “can this game be saved?”

Saved from what? Death? Becoming a game you don’t like and can’t play anymore? Does ‘saved’ means that the game would be that if it took all of your suggestions to heart?

Like many others here, and in game still playing, I don’t feel that the game needs to be ‘saved’. Sure, it could use some minor tweaks here and there, but so could all mmos.

I just am not sure what you mean by ‘can this game be saved?’ Saved from what?

I think you are asking the wrong question.

Instead of asking “CAN it be saved?” perhaps you should ask “SHOULD it be saved?”

Personally, the only saving grace this game has is it was a gift. I didn’t pay for it.

Sorry, but I just don’t see that. Sure, the trait system is different now and requires some adaptation, but I can still do what I want to with my character…..I can still build it however I feel like building it. There were never “a thousand different roads in order to reach a goal”, but I still have plenty of different ways to do things in game to keep it all interesting and varying and entertaining.

Maybe the “tedium and dryness” you’re experiencing is not so much from the changes made in the game, but rather, your sheer familiarity with it. Any game, after you play it for awhile, no matter how ingenious and varied it might be, WILL get stale, old, and boring…….it’s just the way it goes.

I am not to that point yet, but it sounds like you are. And I am not really sure if the game is to blame for that. Take a break, try something new……GW2 will still be here when you feel the urge to play it again.

And maybe, by then, it will have some changes/adds to it that will spark your interest and enjoyment for a short while, again.

I experienced the same thing with Dark Ages of Camelot that you are now experiencing with GW2. I loved that game, and played it for years. But as time wore on, even with changes I liked and didn’t like…….the game just got OLD…….no matter what I did, or what the game did……I just was tired of it……my familiarity with it. It happens…..I went back and reinstalled DaoC just a few weeks ago, and that old love for it has disappeared……it’s just a clunky old mmo to me, now.

Fortunately, I am not to that point with GW2, yet. In another year or so, maybe…..just the way it is with mmos. Or for that matter, with any game…..:)

It doesn’t matter from what. The question is really just a lead-in to other questions, used to sort out those that think the game needs saving from whatever they feel is wrong with it.

In hind sight, if I had been more awake (day off, I was sleeping late), I would have likely come up with a better title for the thread.

Buying or NOT buying off the gem store is not about sending Anet any message. it’s about How I do not want to support what I do not enjoy.

If anet Understands that is awesome. If they decide to Look Into why the game is losing players, and makes decisions I agree with, I become a happier player, and spend More.

it’s that simple. I do Not reward with money what doesn’t entertain me.

The mind is its own place and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.
