As title. Bloodlust, Perception etc does not stack in instances. Every other sigil does, why not these?

Oh yeah, I’d forgotten to complain about this after my less-than-satisfying episode 8 experience.

It seems that in the rush to remove loot from story instances, they removed everything that happens on monster death, including sigils.

Many alts; handle it!

Another thread about Renewed Justice been here today too.

Have been broken and reported, reported, reported for half a year with no comment or fix whatsoever.

20 level 80s and counting.

Not only stacking sigils do not proc, al;so a lot of traits on death and food.

Living story p2: no XP & triggers on deaths

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

Yeah, this was an unpleasant discovery from the very first day of Season 2 and it hasn’t been addressed at all.

What do you mean?
You want to have 50 total stacks of Power/accuracy
or
you want to have 25 stacks of power AND accuracy
or
you wanna get 2 stacks per kill?

He means none of the mobs in the Living Story instances and many of the mobs in Silverwastes (the ones that spawn during defense and escort) trigger On Kill effects, which renders a few sigils and traits completely useless and would like for them to actually work as intended.

From experience I’ve noticed this, and the failure of Virtue of Justice as well, to be happening mainly in story instances.

In a broad sense it seems to me that for a kill to count for reneweal or stacking it has to be able to provide XP when killed.

Stacking sigils and things that proc on kill don’t work at all in instances. It’s being suggested that things work as they normally do in PvE is all. Killing one monster = one stack of bloodlust or perception, and that traits that trigger on kill actually work.

The bug is much older .. they already never worked for examples on all the mobs
at Claw of Jormag event that gives no exp.

But implementing that “feature” first in LS2 and then also into the personal story
made it of course even worse.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Sounds like someone was lazy when removing the loot from said mobs and just removed the entire “on kill” check from them instead of just the few bits that needed to go.

People shouldn’t have parts of their build invalidated just because Anet doesn’t like rewarding us for playing their game.

On-kill effects only trigger on mobs that give experience, as a lazy coding solution of preventing effect stacking from killing ambient whites, and from stacking on killing nonstop-respawn mobs. Therefore all sigils, traits and skills of this type used on zero-experience mobs will not trigger.

As far as I know, this also includes the Vengeance and Illusion of Life effects in many cases.

This answers your ‘how’ question. As for why, that’s Anet’s job to answer.

I suspect triggering the loot table is an On Kill effect (something like “x% chance to drop loot On Kill”), but since all loot tables have a chance of dropping precursors ANet made summoned mobs and story instance mobs give 0 experience to prevent precursor farming.

Which, of course, cripples every other On Kill sigil, trait, and food effect. I guess preventing farming is more important than making sure certain game mechanics work properly.
