Tested lower level mobs using various levels, 80 in a level 75,70,65,60,55,50 and so on with virtually no difference in quality and quantity of loot. As mentioned in the first post this isn’t just about the quality but the outright quantity of the loot which has dropped substantially. It’s a bug, no doubt.

After reading that linked article about the Nexon curse, i immediatly uninstalled GW2
With that Nexon influence i really dont think the game will improve in the direction i would like.

I literally went and even soloed Champions or managed to down 50-60-70% hp on my own before someone joined and there was no loot at all or if there was it was some junk item not even common gear. it is ridiculous considering some champions can take nearly an hour if it is not swarmed by 20+ players at a time. needless to say i get better more frequent loot from Veteran mobs wich i can pretty much slap to death on my own in like 30 seconds.

I read alot this week on this forum that drops seam to have been nerfed. Personally I have also experienced this since the end of the lost shores event. My theory on this is as follows. The lost shore event was such a big fiasco that Anet had no choice but to pump ludicrous rewards during the final event to appease the masses at a risk of destabilizing the economy. So in order to prevent this they tightened drop rates in general after the event. I estimate they will increase drop rates once again in a few weeks. Now I doubt Anet will ever admit it were this the case but it sure seams like it. Just my opinion.

I’ve just done the personal story which left me almost 60 copper shy even using the mists to travel to get to my next story location. This is so bad i cannot even afford to do my story quests without dipping into my saved money. I know this isn’t a game crashing bug but now it’s affecting normal progression, so I urge someone from Anet to fix this as soon as possible. I’m at the point where I’m quitting progress of all characters until this is sorted out, i can’t even afford to travel at this point. This is a major bug and will destroy the game economy within days.

We complained about it strongly and you guys did us right.

I am back to normal drops, MF looks like it works as intended and expected and all is right and proper. Good on you Anet.

I did a two hour farming run today in Malchor’s and Cursed Shore. I killed everything I came across, and did about 7-8 DE’s. I got one green and two rares. While the number of greens is not what I’m used to, the rares are. This was without MF except on the spear I have yet to replace. Could it just be the curse of the RNG?

I’ll will say this, the drop rate has been fixed as far I am concerned.
I ran several events, killed a lot of things and felt I was rewarded as normal.
I got 4 rares, a ton of green and blues from Dragons, not to mention all the G&Bs from normal critters, I even got a rare from a shelk that started a fight with me. That is 5 rares tonight along with the B&G loot, all told I made a bit over 2 gold and when i added my harvesting loot I was close to 4 gold.

As far as I am concerned, this is a resolved issue and I am satisfied it was an honest mistake.
My thanks to Anet for the fix and all of you folks for adding your concerns.
I’m out of here, got things to kill and loot to bank.

They do not need to patch our clients to adjust some minor changes in the game.
The changes goes live transparently in real time. Guild Wars engine let them do that this way.

For the week im 2 – 40 on getting ecto’s from lvl 80 yellows. On top of that just running out and farming is fail as I went 20 minutes and best I got was a white bow. In two hours of farming failed to get one yellow and yes I have MF gear.

Just to mention, I participated in the Lyssa event quite often, since I was getting the armor for me. Prior to the 15th of November I had trouble getting all the stuff that dropped into my bags, they were always full of stuff while the event was still running and that with quite a good mix of blue, green, yellow items and t6 materials. Now I can do 2 events Dwayna and Lyssa and my bags are only half full. And that not only because the mobs are dropping less rares, but way more vendor trash like these porous bones.

And the patch said champions would now have always loot, which is clearly not the case.

One night’s good drops does not constitute proof. Nor does a few bad runs for that matter. Let it settle out over time before you decide it is/isn’t fixed.

I was just in Orr doing the Grenth chain and I got 1 rare, ton of blues and some greens… And again a LOT of porous bones. I will go again to Orr later and see what will happen, but compared to Fractals drops Orr is not worth it :/

Was planning on taking a weeks break from gw2. The droprate bug is a big reason for that. Hoping within a week we’ll at least get an official confirmation of a fix or at least aknowledgment that there is/was a bug with the droprate buff.

They do not need to patch our clients to adjust some minor changes in the game.
The changes goes live transparently in real time. Guild Wars engine let them do that this way.

There should be at least one Data file (containing such info pertaining to mobs/drops/stats etc) both client and server-side that should match, if they do not match you would not able to play at all as the client would fail to connect. due to mis-match.

Not neccesarily. All thats really needed is for the client (depending how its built) to say to the server “Hey, I killed this, whatup?” and the server might respond “Ok, here is how much xp you get, and the thingie dropped loot”. “Ok, what loot?” the client asks. “This and that and some other thingamajig” the server responds.

Well, thats very silly and basic in how I belive it works, but you get the point. However, the server might need a restart before some changes start being active.

All I did was run the 3 dragons and farmed some mats in frostgorge and orr.
When I started playing I made a run through a low level area, just kicking around helping clear the road and all that. I noticed that I was getting blues from kills so I started hitting the Dragons and working on my daily in between.

Once it was all sold I got over 2 gold for it, loadstone fetched 1g 40s or so.
Also made a bit more than 1g from the mats, so better than 3 g in a round 3 hours,to me, it isn’t nerfed anymore. My guild mates were getting better drops as well, blues and green, but I am the only one that runs magic find on all of my armor.

If I play today and my drops are nerfed then I’ll be back to say so.

Well, I’ll play today and see how it goes. I can tell you in the last few days, I have gotten about 50 silver a day, even with doing two of the three dragons on more than one occastion. The best I have gotten from any of the dragons was a couple of greens, all the rest were blues. Oh, and one yellow Dubloon or something like that.

The quantity and quality of the drops have DRASTICALLY been reduced, either intentional by Anet or accidental. We need to get them to take a look at this problem.
Also running full MF gear with banners, consumables etc. are not working as intended.

It changed the day they did the patch for Lost Shores, which by the way, has the worst drop rate of anywhere in the game, why would anyone want to go there unless it is to look at the scenery?

If they have deliberately nerfed the drops, for whatever reason, we need to get them to fix it, because as far as I am concerned, on a scale of 1 – 10, since the patch, my rating dropped from a “9” down to a “2” on the fun/enjoyment factor.

We need to bring this matter to Anet’s immediate attention, whatever that they have done, intentionally or not, has broken/crippled the drop rates with MF gear. I am going to test this theory later by removing all MF and see what happens. I have played daily since pre-release and now I have lost all enthusiasm for playing,.

When the patch first released, I killed 3 lvl 7 jotun and got 3 lvl 80 rares. My luck is just the opposite of yours

yes and they fixed that bugged drops in the next update because ppl were getting huge amounts of rares even from low level mobs….the fix was so good so that now mobs dont drop rares anymore rofl…

Yup, I bet many experienced this, including me. Right after patch for the first 5 minutes, I was in starter zone and got 4 greens, like 5 rares and 10+ blues from everything I killed. They must have done something and broke it for the players then broke it again to “fix” it.

Kills my enjoyment of killing Vets for loot when they were 80% guaranteed at least a blue when killed, now I can’t even get a vendor trash.

Also don’t like the fact that they reduced the amount of karma and money gained from doing a lower level event. Increasing exp is pointless imo.

My record is killing 6 mobs in a row without even a trash drop. There are enough money sinks in this game to “control” us non-bots, from the cut that Anet collects out of the trading post, to the repair bills, and waypoint travel. I don’t need a rare drop all the time but I would like to get something for at least most of my mob kills so I can sell stuff or find crafting mats.

Now I am fighting the bots in the new area for mobs and it makes it even more frustrating.

Not asking for much, but increase drop rate of basic loot or something, so we can “sell junk” and make a silver or 3 after killing dozens of mobs.

I not long ago made my 2nd lvl 80.

My 1st had all exotics in a day or two and could buy siege.

My 2nd is still scraping around to get a full set despite having spent badges & karma for a few, at least, ‘reasonable’ items.

All my bags have a grey lining…

Still the same in the lvl 80 areas I’m afraid. No change that I noticed and I’m fairly sure we won’t see one until there’s an update. It required an update to fix the increased dyes drops so it will most likely require one now. I’m not getting my hopes up on a fix tho…

Looks like to me they bugged all the loot while adjusting loot for downscaled players. No idea about old dungeons but they gotta be crappy too.

Only dragon LT’s loot seems increased, especially Shatterer while they updated its attacks. I keep getting 2 rares and sometimes exotics from him(was first time for me) but still sometimes crap loot as it was always with %116 MF.

Like others I’ve gone back to farming in my DPS gear. My observation is that in any situation where I’m attacking large groups of mobs — say, in an event like Grenth — I get more total drops wearing my DPS gear than I do when I’m wearing my MF gear.

I realize this isn’t exactly a rigid, formal analysis. But on the other hand this is all I do in game now: I farm the mobs at the dragon events and certain temple events, and I seem to get better results with full DPS gear.

I’m left with the impression that in a situation where people are “tagging” the same groups of mobs, scoring damage is king.

Like others I’ve gone back to farming in my DPS gear. My observation is that in any situation where I’m attacking large groups of mobs — say, in an event like Grenth — I get more total drops wearing my DPS gear than I do when I’m wearing my MF gear.

I did so also last night before I went to bed, and you know what happened? First 3 kills, I got 3 greens. Next 3 kills, 1 Vicious Fang, 1 Powerful Blood and 1 Armored Scale. All those drops back to back of each other. Something is really off, only got 1 green, and few T5 mats when in my MF gear farming for 1 hour but got those in less than 2 mins with 6 kills after I swapped equipment.

Please don’t allow people to derail this, i don’t want to see it closed prior to Monday and we get some answers. This is critical to every other aspect of the game and I’ve followed it closely since the 15th and can flat out tell you the loot drops are nowhere near what they were previous. This is a major bug and will cripple many aspects of the game if it isn’t fixed.

Vini, Vidi, Vici, Viridis…I came, I saw, I conquered…I got a green??
