Chuka and Champawat: How long?
I still haven’t finished the very first stage. I need 9 or so more Elonian Leather to make it and lower tier leather doesn’t accumulate very fast so my time gate components are gathering dust. I imagine if I were pushing it then I’d make it in the same time frame as HOPE took. Which was … ummm … I wasn’t really paying attention but after I got past a long stall on the first stage due to having no friends doing fractals and not wanting to pug, I think it was two or three months to get my pistol? Probably under three months; I know I held off on the amalgamateds until the patch that changed their acquisition a bit.
This was with doing my best to gather my own mats rather than grind out gold to buy them.
I see, so if you were to have the gold for the mats, then it would have been faster? by how much? and thanks for the reply!
Not that much faster, I don’t think. Stage 3 had a lot of mats gathering but most of making the precursor involved finding events and doing things at them. I also had to scrape up the last of my HoT mastery points so I could buy all the vendor items (and that meant gathering the map currency). I sold off a lot of hoarded mats to buy other ones for the Gifts, too — when I say I gathered for myself, I mean things like ore and wood that I could reliably get just by taking the time. And I used Forge promotion to get more T5 and T6 mats for the Gifts. Also I sold off BL skins I’d been saving for personal use once I decided I’d rather have HOPE than them.
Yes, flat out buying every single tradeable component would have shaved off some time, possibly shaved off a few weeks (I wasn’t 100%ing my time on HOPE, I had RP and helping friends level and the like), but gold doesn’t show up instantaneously. I have to invest time in getting it. I guess the question is how much resources you already have accumulated, as the more you have on hand the less future time you have to spend gathering them.
I think it took me about a month. Some of the longest waits were for the time-gates ascended mats and trying to get enough amalgamated gemstones together. I had a lot of mats stored up which helped but I still ended up buying a ton of wood and leather off the TP.
I did it in half a week iirc.
It was about 3 days for me.
I started when it released and just finished yesterday.
Needed exactly 2 days.
I had already piled up loads of mats of all kinds ever since HoT release, because i wanted to craft a legendary but didn’t like the first three. So Chuka was my last chance, I rushed through the collections within 2 days and crafted it right away.
(In fact, I had so many mats that i crafted Astralaria as well only 5 days later, as it was still the best of the first three.)
[Soul] – Ring of Fire
Took me exactly 2 days, had all the materials it’s just that the journey felt more like a grind then anything. :/
Took me 3 weeks, but it was my first legendary and I needed to get huntsman and leatherworking up.
Gift of battle was easier to get back then as well. Now it requires 8 1/2 hours in wvw
I think it took me 3 weeks but I did it very slowly, it probably could be done in 1 day if you have the time to play.
