Due to the decreased drop rate of the fractal skins after the fractal update, I’d like this suggestion to be taken in consideration if possible. I was thinking of making it able to purchase fractal skins through the use of Pristine Fractal Relics. Obviously, if this were to be considered, the amount of Pristine Relics that are required wouldn’t be easy to obtain, but a difficult and fair amount. It would give them more value as of which most fractal frequenters have at least one of each ring and an excessive amount of them, to the point where people start to destroy them or vendor them to save bag and/or bank space. Due the the lesser need of using the Pristine Relics at this point, either people start stacking them to possibly using them later on or just consume them to save bag and/or bank space.

This would help not those of just the fractal frequenters, but that of the more casual gaming community and any in between if they also have made it a goal to get a fractal skin. With the new odds of a fractal skin dropping, getting the exact one you wish for is near to impossible. Also taking in the fact of rng playing out, there is a chance of you gaining a skin you already own, adding onto the lesser chance of getting said desired skin.

Thank you for any who may have read my post, and I hope this gains enough awareness to be taken into consideration.

I have tried submitting this into the suggestion sub-forum, but it didn’t allow me to, so sorry for posting it into the wrong section.

Fractal skins are a rare drop precisely because they are not meant for casuals. They are meant for the players who regularly run fractals every day.

It’s not because it has terrible RNG that casual players can’t get it. It simply means that unlucky people will have to do it more while lucky players can do it once.
Just like nearly everything else in this game with the big difference being that unlucky players can buy most things to make up for not being lucky.

Saying that Fractal skins are not meant for casuals is like saying Zommoros only rewards the hardcore Mystic Forge users.
It only takes one lucky run be it a casual or hardcore player to get a drop just like the Mystic forge only takes one lucky combine to get a pre-cursor.
Pristine Fractal Relic trades for weapon skins (if the number of relics required is high) is much more hardcore than casual.

Fractal skins are a rare drop precisely because they are not meant for casuals. They are meant for the players who regularly run fractals every day.

And there’s a way to keep them that way without those players feeling that they’re working in vain and always subject to the gods of RNG.

Let me elaborate – I’m a hardcore fractal player – been that way since last summer in July when I started and kept going. Sometimes 3 fractal tiers per day. Sometimes weeks on end without a day gone by without doing at least a 49 or 50.

I’ve recently gotten the skin I wanted ( fractal longbow) and have toned down my runs .
I’m happy that I have it but a system could be put in place to prevent frustration and players simply giving up. I had nearly done so before I had my skin.

Solution? Fractal weapon skins cost 200-250 Pristine Fractal Relics. To get those you’ll have to stop being a casual and start doing fractals seriously to get your desired skin but at least you’ll have an attainable goal in front of you and not have to rely entirely on luck.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”

200+ Relics is idiotic. You realize that it will take 40-50 days of running 5 tiers a day? Unless you’ve got 8 hours a day to devote purely to fractals, it’s going to take you 3-6 months to get a single one. It’s even more idiotic with the fact that you can get Ascended rings in as little as 10 runs. There’s a massive gap between directed at hardcore players and ludicrously stupid high barriers.

For 200 runs I could have 10 different Fractal skins purely from Daily Tier chests.

Rather than making it yet another grind, which the Pristine Relics idea would make it, just up the drop rate slightly and make it a fractals weapon skin box.

I’ve gotten the longbow, sceptre, focus and harpoon skins which is fine since I can make use of them all (although the focus dropped as a item with no stats, which was weird) being rewarded with the skin of your choice would put those skin rewards in line with the ascended drops that you can get.

Pristine is given at level 10.
You have reasonable chances to get a skin (given they fixed the droprate) at level 41-50.

As it should be.

Giving skins to level 10 (that is indeed easier than most dungeon) is not a good idea.

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
