Configuring location tracker?

Q:

I apologize if this question has been asked, but my google and forum search skills haven’t turned up anything – possibly because I don’t know sufficiently precise feature names to google.

I’m a recent returnee. While I was away, the quest / undiscovered location tracker at the top right of the window was added. I love the feature, but would like to configure it. Quest tracking isn’t all that useful to me; there’s a great big green blot where I need to go. But undiscovered locations / skill points / vistas etc. is great for completing zones.

The problem is whenever I have an active quest, it takes precedence over location tracking. Right now my new warrior is in Brisban Wildlands, using the tracker to scout the whole zone, but in half a level she’ll hit 30 and I will lose the use of the tracker until I’ve finished the next tier of personal story. My 80s are in a worse predicament, because there’s always a living world quest showing.

Is there a way to configure what the tracker shows? I would probably leave it permanently on undiscovered locations, but I can see that choosing between personal story (if unfinished) and living world story would be useful, too.

In case anyone finds this thread looking for the same answer, it’s here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Personal-Story-and-the-Tracker. Setting Content Guide to “Disable Personal Story” (it’s a drop-down, which is why I missed it) allows the little arrow to point to undiscovered locations. For my 80s, I still have a permanent quest displayed for the Living World continuation, but that isn’t tracked on the Content Guide, so I’m happy.

I had it set to Disable Personal Story and Events when I was mapping. That way it only shows map locations.

Go to options (the gear icon on top left of your UI) then to General options (the wrench icon) then to the last drop down panel on the right.
