Cool animated weapons?
The Crossing (staff)
Mjolnir (hammer)
The Anomaly (focus)
To name a few. Dulfy has an excellent list of weapons for each type you can look at and also link to the game client to preview.
The krait focus has a very subtle animation. It’s a starfish that pulses. Hard to see unless you know what to look for but it’s clear if you preview the item by itself. It’s small details like this that make this game fun for me.
Firebringer (flaming sword)
Immobulus ! Prettiest scepter in game.
Orrian weapons drip water.
RIP City of Heroes
warrior and we’re the best class” Eugene
Dark Asuran Weapons, Inquest Weapons, Ascalonian Catacombs weapons (at night).
Eye of Rodgort, sceptre
it’s a huge eyeball that looks around

Flame weapons have a subtle flame/burning effect.

EDIT: because I mistakenly called them Carrion when they have different versions

The glyphic weapons have a nice blue effect on them.
a lot of the steam weapons do,
the steam mace
steam gizmo (focus)
steam dagger
steam staff
steam trident
steam torch.
the mace honestly being my favorite out of them all
Easiest way to see all the pretty non legendary weapons… open up the trading post, set filter to exotic.. click search… then filter the price to highest… right click to preview all the ones that aren’t precursors… 99% should be shinies.
Immobulus ! Prettiest scepter in game.
It is lovely..but I have never seen a Giant eye drop ever. Didn’t even know they existed until I looked up the recipe..

I’ve gotten a couple from heavy moldy bags.

I’ve only got 2 or 3 from bags, and had to buy the others from the TP. But I don’t regret it. It worths all the legendaries for me.
Some Whispers weapons have moving parts.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
There are many Mystic Forge weapons that not many people are using:

SAB weapon skins also have animations. They’re also extremely glowy
Just enter Super as a search in the tp

Dude you just made my day…I think. Some of those models are stud and may even be better than the legendaries in some people’s eyes.
However, one of my true endgame goals was the grind for the legendary…might not need half of that grind for one of these.
Ah but what will I do with the 30 some odd mystic clovers that I now have? Store them scavenger hunt? At that point I will have spent a decent amount of resources on these mystic forge recipes.
Man i wish I knew about these sooner
Ambrosia, never go thirsty again!
Perhaps not much of an animation but it helps my Norn to focus in any situation.
Cheers
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
How come there are way more focii than anything else to be created in the mystic toilet?
The weapons from the Hall of Monuments have animated effects.
Though it does require one to play GW1 (if you haven’t done that already).
Lady Bethany Of Noh – Chronomancer – Lords of Noh [LoN]
A lot of the generic weapons (orrian weapons, krait slayer weapons, etc) have little animations.
Both of the types above drip water like a raincloud.
