Creature comforts, to an extent I’m being liberal with my use of this term, the context here being relative to things that make life in GW2 a little more convenient and easy or simply just nicer!

This is not a HAS TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY post. But the the process by which we go about doing some things makes one let out an inconvenient sigh as you perform the task or actions required or even the process that your involved in at that time.

However I had made a post similar to this nearly 6 months ago unfortunately none of the recommendations previously listed have come to light.

To be more specific I’ll list some things. I’m looking for people to add their own ideas and perhaps comment on how much you desire these or other creature comforts ingame.

Save/Swap traits:
Having to zone to LA (or where ever), pay money and then rebuild ones traits over and over. People should be able to save builds and swap them relatively easily (even at cost).

Guild Halls:
A place to meet and greet guildies before events/activites, easily accessible merchants etc there (so you don’t clog up WvW queues).

Commander pin:
It’s a blue taco you follow, that’s all. Needs to be more useful when leading the map in WvW and you need to be able to set up private pins for guildies only. It needs to do A LOT more than what it currently does.

Waypoint:
Map>Hearts of the Mists>LA>etc.
It feels like a small grind with load screens and wait times. Make all major cities free to travel to, its the same thing, just without the load screens.

Weapon Swap:
Keep current weapon swap system ‘IN’ combat but have multiple weapon sets that you are free to swap to ‘OUT’ of combat. Engineers and ele’s too. Opening inventory and manual clicking things is not ideal.

Home Instances:
I slide this in here too, I just expected it to be far more personalised than what it currently is.

Trading Post:
Better filtering system (light, medium, heavy etc).

To reiterate i like the new content we receive, however I am starting to desire the above mentioned things more than the latest shiny.

Playing off your trait swap thought – a “favorites” system to save frequent buys/sells you do often in the BLTP.

Oh, interesting point. Would have to be PvE/WvW only then. I could live with that.

Definitely.

Though, it would be nice for the classes without weapon swap abilities to be able to have a weapon swap slot that we can switch to out of combat (instead of opening our inventory to do it).

In Addition:

Cosmetic Wardrobe:

GW2 was encouraged as a cosmetic progressive game and yet you are stuck to transmuting everything once or carrying a bunch of the same weapons/armour if you want to swap looks occasionally.

Adding some kind of cosmetic wardrobe to the game would be a benefit too. Where you easily store and retrieve items specifically. Rather than them simply hanging in your inventory bag or bank cluttering things up.

‘Skinifyers’ instead of Transmutation stones/crystals.
Use on whatever armor/weapon to change it to a skin you can use at will later (like the achievement ones).
So we can slowly create our collection of skins as in sPvP.
Will keep achievers, collectors, roleplayers & fashion victims in game for a loooong time.

Nothing of this list has anything to do with “Creature Comforts” in my opinion.

I suggest to the Op to rename this thread into “My Personal Wishlist”, because thats actually what this thread seems to be without any focused topic at all.

Creature Comforts, I expect, should be things which stand in relationship with you know – creatures !!

So features, that improve the comfort of the game and quality of life mechanics that have do do something with the creatures in this game or simply features, that can add something new and fun that is based around all the creatures of the game.

Following things come into my mind which I’d like to see getting into the game:

1) Add a Creature Compendium that is perma linked as a Tool in your Hero Panel that when you open it up, it will show you all kinds of information and pictures/lore about the creatures of the game. where you can find them, what skills they have, what they drop as loot and at which possible chances, the lore about together with their 3D Modesl to look at, turn them, zoom in and out ect. so that you can take a better look at them.

2) Removing all Creature Kill-Signets and rework them into game integrated Creature Kill-Bonus Effectsso more you kill of the creatures. Nobody uses these useless creature specific damage boost sigils anyway.
Better owuld it be, if we become more effective in killing specific creatures, so more experienced we become over time in killing specific creatures.

3) Implement finally Polymock and let every Creature of the Game have a Chance to drop as loot their Polymock Figurines

4) Implement as new Minigame a Collectable Creature Card Game thats similar to FF8’s Triple Triad, which could be another new loot type for all kinds of creatures, that they would have a chance to drop their Creature Cards for the game…
Creature Cards could work then also like in Ragnarok Online as some kind of new Upgrade Component maybe for Weapons to receive that way the ability to summon the creatures as companions or so …

5) Raise some drop rates of specific creatures to reduce the massive grind of some items for craftign ect. – Tequatl as example – seriously, those sunless weapons drop way too rarely, therefore tghat Anet already has increased once their drop rates, you see no difference… the loot will be directly character/accountbound, so theres no reason to keep their drops rates artificially super low, cause they drop anyway only with 1 specific stat combo and most want them due to this only anyway for the skin.

6) Remove or increase the range of some creatures “Run back Lines” that leads to the point that creatures begin automatically to recover back to maximum health. Many of them feel way too short and alot of them are bugged

7) Remove the Invincible mechanic, if you attack monsters from higher spots that they can’t reach.. its a clever and smart way of playing the game to take the environment into consideration to get an advantage in combat.
anyone with a brain in the head would do the same in a real battle, so why get we punishish with such a stupid mechanic, only because of bots???

8) Reduce the insane amounts of HP certain champion and especialyl legendary creatures in this game have and give them instead more interesting skills and tactical different combat phases so that battles agaisnt them become more fun and don#t feel like a boring unendless hack and slash against huge HP walls.
This includes also changing or removing Defiant to give Control Builds finally in this game its viable reason for existance to make Control builds also more important and equal to full Damage builds

9) Implement more Creatures into the game, give all maps especially different daytime and nighttime creatures to make the maps more full of life and please refrain from using unendless creature reskins. Games are interesting , if they have realyl alot of different monsters and creatures with as many different creature models as possible.

10) Add to the game something like a Wilderness/Safari Zone, where we can make Photos with a Cam as a kind of Minigame. Add also stuff to the game like Fishing.

That are to me 10 suggestions, which I’d count under “Creature Comfort” basically
Suggestions, that have to do with creatures in any kind of way.

Even in GW1, you couldn’t do it outside of combat in an instance / match.

4 weapon combo slots were available in/out of combat and in an instance in GW1.

Yup. However, they didn’t make as much of a difference as your attribute points and skill set. Once you locked them (the skills and attribute points) in and entered the instance, you were stuck with them come hell or high water.

It wasn’t a case of you could run out of combat and switch to another skill and point load-out to deal with a situation, which is what Funk has concerns about.

I wouldn’t mind a template system though. Maybe make it so you have to channel the switch and keep still so it’s not a case you can just chase someone and switch to an appropriate build.
