So currently in GW2 a daily is considered…opening up the achivement screen and looking at a list.

Go kill 10 of these types of monsters
Farm nodes
etc
Get a chest..wee

Isnt this just a different form of the grind that Anet said we would never encounter in this game (in their manifesto video)…the guy in the manifesto video (the swing a sword guy) said they dont want us to have to go kill 10 monsters…etc etc

Yet this is what we end up doing on a daily basis.

WIthout people lighting their torches and saying go back to (insert MMO name here)…why not have real daily quest?….oh kitten I meant events!!! dont flame me >.>

Yes, people will argue this will be a grind…but face it…most “end game” already in GW2 is a grind. Anet needs to drop the “no grind” act. May as well add more things to do to allow people to"grind/do end game stuff in their own way or what they enjoy instead of forcing dungeons on them…or crafting.

Why not have different NPC factions that we can work for and do events (notice i said events…not quest…god forbid ppl kitten at me) for on a daily basis?

I mean in the personal story we can join 3 factions….why not build on that to add to the non existent end game?

Like we can build faction points with the skritt, the Kodan, the Hylek, Largos, EbonHawke, each of the Charr Legions, Lionguard, the pirates in LA, etc etc etc etc etc…the list is long…hell even ogres or sons of svanir or krait.

This could be fun stuff for post lvl 80 and personal story.

We can join one or all and go do events and missions and gain gear that way without having to grind fractals, or get faction specific gear, pets, minis whatever.

Lets keep this serious not a ….“this game dont need anything im the ultimate fanboy”…or “this game sux im gonna go cut myself”….you know what I mean.

Lets all play nice in the responses.

While I wouldn’t mind some change in dailies from time to time, nobody is making you complete the achievements. That’s why they are achievements.

Its called having something to do besides grinding fractals, crafting or grinding a new toon.

I just think we need more variety.

Grind is something you have to do to get to the fun, nobody is forcing you to do dailies.

Never liked being forced to the same type of quests over and over again.

GW2s system allows us to do anything we want in order to complete our dailies..

We should want more freedom not lesss.

Besides like people said to me…you dont have to do the above (if it was implemented) if you dont want to.

Daily achievements aren’t something you go out and do, it’s something you accomplish naturally through playing the game.

I have never felt like I needed to go out and do something for my daily, I get it naturally through playing the game.

Anet make Rev great again.

wow…i should have changed the title of this thread…more people are on about not loosing their “freedom” without even taking into thought the whole idea of joining different NPC groups and adding more “variety” to the game.

This is just an idea people…it could be tweaked to seamlessly flow in with normal every day gameplay.

What exactly are you suggesting, then? It sounds like you’re suggesting daily quests similar to what exist in other MMOs – you walk up to some NPC, he tells you to kill six snow moose, then you get a reward, then you kill six more the next day.

As opposed to the daily we have in GW2 now, which is “Go do stuff. What? No, anything. Anywhere you want. Yeah, there too. Go nuts with it, I don’t even care.”

This is why people are talking about freedom and variety. One has it, one doesn’t.

“A man who trusts everyone is a fool.
And a man who trusts no one is a fool.
We are all fools, if we live long enough.”

Uh, actually, daily achievements are perfect.

Why? Because they allow more variety than any other achievements, period. Kill count? Variety of kills? Events? Gathering? You can do this literally on any map in the entire game, save perhaps Orr.

I’m actually curious how you intend to argue that it’s somehow a grind that you can complete your daily achievements while playing in any location in the entire game. And what you think are more appropriate requirements for the daily achievements.

Let’s hear it.

Remember when our developers talked about “strengthening the core game”?
How’d that work out for us so far?
Now let’s try some ideas that will really work.

Ammm, no, thank you. I spent June-September doing my 30min/day daily quests to get a stupid ring every 2 weeks with stupid random stats that never worked for my class so I could spend another 2 weeks on another stupid and ultimately useless ring. Which would be the best they could do with factions in a game that’s not based on factions.

Might as well just add more general content in the world, any of which can apply to the current daily achievement.

I’m completely done with daily grinding of faction rep after getting both Lightbringer and Sunspear rank in GW1 to max, along with all the other rep grinding nonsense from WoW. Keep that garbage away and implement more uses for karma instead.
