So, is there really a point to why the Karma given by completing your Daily was nerfed? First, you changed the liquid items so they were no longer affected by boosters, but increased the amount they give by 50%, which was fine in my book. Even though I used all my Liquid Karma items after the change when it was reverted and didn’t get the 50% increase and was never reimbursed but that’s besides the point.

Then, you take away the Jug of Liquid Karma from completing your Daily and give a measily Drop of Liquid Karma which is about useless comparitively. I know you also get 5 silver and a Mystic Coin, but the coin isn’t worth much either and 5 silver is worth more than the Jug Of Liquid Karma you used to get

I would like to see it changed back or an explanation as to why it was reduced, because now I don’t see much reason to do my Daily at all besides getting 1 Laurel

You get some Essence of Luck as well.

But I agree that this might be a somewhat heavy-handed response to the fact that many, many players had literally millions of karma and nothing to spend it on.

Unfortunately, it’s going to make the karma grind for big-ticket expenses like Legendaries pretty brutal for any new players coming into the game.

I can see two reasons.

The one they state: Since we are getting an Essence of Luck the karma had to be reduced.
Still going from the old 4,500 (with the potential of 95%account%), what we were somewhat led to belief of 6,750 (the +50% boost) to 600 per day seems a huge disadvantage just for +50 luck.

Another reason that I can see:
They want to address people complaining that they have too much karma with nothing to spend it on. So they added extra karma sinks, while nerfing karma gains to make it “worth something”

Speculation: increase the value of Karma by making it harder to acquire, introduce something (some item(s)) of value to purchase with Karma.

Someone knew something just before they surprised everyone by taking out all those karma buffs, the first time. All the Karma buff food I had for sale on the TP for months were sold in minutes. <— before the removal mind you. Then came the removal of the Karma buffs, then the apology and reimplementation of karma buffs, then the second removal, then the nerf.
It’s a hint and a half that there’s an incoming use for Karma. I feel sorry for new players though. They will never have the chance we did to accumulate it.

Well already 20k for a single weapon to craft, if you can afford to get to 500. Plus obby shards are used in refinement, so another subtle sink. But you’re right. My friends who just started playing somewhat recently are a bit annoyed by the change. One only made it to 750k, and now it’ll take so much longer to get the ~1mil needed for a legendary.

I mean in 5-10 min of killing things in the open world, I can get 50 luck worth of things to salvage. To get the extra thousands of karma I’d have to farm event chains for x2-3 the amount of time. Heck it’s faster to get karma by playing the mini games then it is by doing the daily.

Some good points made here. If Karma becoming used for something besides turning 1 million+ Karma into around 20 gold from Orrian Jewelery Boxes then I suppose it’s somewhat understandable, but I think they could at least increase it to a Vial (2500) or Swig (3K). I’d be happy with that

That nerf is unjustified. And exaggerated. Assuming simple people who don’t have access to all the fancy buffs could get about +60% karma buff, they used to be able to get the equivalent of 4500×1.6=7200 karma per day from the pots. We’ll assume normal players can get on average about 2000 karma per day from events, so that’s a total of 9200 per day, on average. Getting 252,000 to just be able to buy a set of exotic armor from the Orr temples meant grinding the dailies for about one month. That’s not a short time, nor is it ridiculously long either; just the time to get close to level 80 for normal players. I have friends who have been playing casually for more than 6 months and aren’t even close to getting their karma armor, and even less trying to buy it with gold.

If you want to get the jewellery from the temples too (12×42=504,000 karma), it would require about 55 days, which is about the time a regular player needs to get to level 80.

With the daily karma changed to 600, it will now require 194 days! (504,000/2600) That’s 6.5 months! Just to get exotic armor, at a time when ascended equipment are being introduced.

I pity new players, and feel sorry for my friends who will have to grind gold to get their gear. That is if they continue to play this game.

Not only is the daily nerfed, they have also taken karma out of end dungeon rewards…I havent recently done a heart but would be interesting to see if even they were nerfed or decreased by some %.
While im sitting pretty on over 2mil karma, it is not going to last very long as soon as i choose to pursue another legendary, not to mention the cost of the ascended recipies are obnoxious.
