May I suggest a tip to the entrants?

Choreography

You need to make the video flow with the music and dancing.

- Emphasize the song by having the right backdrop.
- When switching between tunes change the camera angle/direction.
- I know the toons have limites dance moves, however, use transitions, camera angles, more toons, or toon transition to make it appear as if the toon is danicng something else.

There really are lots of tips I can give, however, sometimes keeping an idea simple makes it more interesting than throwing 50 ideas into the pot.

Overall I like the vids and will give my 2c the day before the closure of this contest.

Yeah i had thoughts about doing that but i wannted it to be open to how ever the making of the video can put it together :P

What about older videos that were made before this? I have one that took considerable time to edit together that I would like to enter from a few weeks after launch.

Anyway, I will post it and let you accept or deny it at judges discretion.

sorry =/ As i posted in the rules, you can only post entries that have been created at the first date of this thread being posted (with the exception of that one entry because i forgot to add in that rule at that time)

I have such a weird music taste I don’t think any of the races dances will work well with it.

But… I looked at the other videos on this channel and there is a video called “Starfleet Dental Presents: Seeing The World Through Each Other’s Eyes”. At the 1:42 mark on the video it says “Swiss Knight” also known as the guy who made the video you claimed to have made. I also found out that YouTube channel belongs to some guild from another game that later came to Guild Wars 2. I really hope you’re kidding about making the video because that would suck if you were to win and one of these people who worked really hard on their video lost.

Something is fishy about that whole ordeal.

Most of the judges are waiting till all the vids are posted to look at them (i look at them to see when it was posted) if we find that entry to be fishy and unjust and not there own entry we will discount it from the competition.

I thought it was obvious too with him saying things like, “Don’t listen to him, as it is totally my video. Hope you enjoy this video that I definitely created!” I wasn’t too sure everyone else knew though so I wanted to say something as nobody else had yet. Just to be safe! :P

I tip my hat to Barrons! instead of farming for some silly piece of gear that’ll be worthless when they rise the levelcap, you spend your hard-earned Gold on bringing this community together.

The nice thing is that the reward is reasonable, as it will only attract people who are doing this for fun, not just for the big jar of gold at the end.

I am not going to enter a video, but I love watching these videos!

Thanks a lot for arranging this; it got me interested in making these things again. I made another music video years ago, for a different game.

At exactly what date and time will submissions be ending? I have a bit of extra time, so I might make some last-minute edits.

When this contest ends and the dust settles, I would be willing to donate a gold toward another contest if you organize it. I think others would be as well. Crowd-funding is all the rage.

Great job doing something positive. I was getting rather sick of seeing nothing but rage on these boards.

Yeah, I too, will also help fund the next contest if there is one and you want the help. It won’t be much because I’m not the best at making money, but at least it will help get the community together like this again. This has been a lot of fun!

Sooo… I made mine as quickly as possible so that I won’t be blamed for copying from another entry that uses similar ideas as mine.

Okay, so I had a bit more time tonight than expected, so I made a new version.
Changes are:
1. I replaced two clips I didn’t like.
2. I totally re-timed every. single. clip in the video.
(Designed to be watched in fullscreen.)

Note: Two “mature” words used, but not in a threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, or defamatory manner/context

Expanding on my old FUN FACTS:
1. No two characters in this video belong to the same account.
2. Every playable race is dancing at some point in the video!
3. There’s a scene for each of the three Orders.
4. Four of the five Capitals + Lion’s Arch + Fort Trinity are featured in the video.
5. In the video’s second-half, there’s a reference to one of the later Personal Storyline arcs. (You will only recognise it if you’ve played that arc.)
6. There’s one scene from the top of a very long jumping puzzle (on Southsun Cove).
7. All footage recorded by me on my computer on my account.

Oh, I’m glad they liked the video! Charr dance animations can be a bit tough to work with, so I was so relieved when I remembered that song. I’d like to make another music video in the future, but choosing the next song will definitely be difficult.
