Did Swiftness change somehow?
The other day I was in WvW on my engi and I felt REALLY slow. We would just finished fighting/killing, and although I was still in combat, I would randomly just feel like I was walking through mud.
It felt like I was crippled, but I had no conditions on myself AND I had swiftness. Something seemed a little off, but I have no clue what it was. I just blamed it on lag and moved on.
Been playing my Ranger the last few days while using the “quickening zephyr” (suppose to be 50% increase in speed ) signet the animation does happen but I see no increase in speed, people still just pass me by while running and actually pull ahead…weird.
I think it depends on the zone because I only feel like running with weights when I’m in a zone where champion train is going on or an event like Jormag is up.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.

Quickness doesn’t affect your movement speed.

I get this often too, it’s just a wierd in combat bug.

Yep…you are correct should have looked at the wiki first. thank you!
Theres also no feelable difference in the speed of a 25% movement speed signet over using swifness, that gives you 33%.
If you have feline grace for the thief for example actitive,m that gives you swiftness for a short time (33%), ione should expect to get nearer to someone, who is only running with +25% speed, but you don’t get a slightest bit nearer the other running player..
Swiftness is definetely bugged

I can feel the difference.
maybe for other classes, but surely not as a thief using its dodge roll swiftness, because it adds absolutely nothing, when you have also equipped the utility skilsl whose passive effect gives you +25%.
When you have this signet on, those swiftness boons from dodge rolsl feel just exactly the same running speed. You feel absolutely no difference of having for the moment 8% more speed, that you let you get nearer to dsomebody, who’s running only with 25% increased speed.

That is not surprising. Back when some of the signets only gave +10% movement speed there was no noticeable difference either. The difference between swiftness and the signet is only 8% so that is even less likely to be noticeable.
You can also look at it this way.
Base forward movement speed is 300 units/s
If you were to run the full range of a treb it would take …
10,000 / 300 = 33.333 seconds with no buff
10,000 / 375 = 26.666 seconds with signet
10,000 / 399 = 25.062 seconds with swiftness
That is assuming you are running in a straight line. Are you going to notice a 1.6s difference while running that distance?
Thanks for the replies. I though it was a noticeable enough difference to comment on.
I do use Signet of the Hunt often and with so many changes to signets this last update, I wonder if there is something else that got changed somehow unexpectedly.
I agree that the difference between 25% and 33% is small enough to be difficult to notice but I also noticed that I lost ground running with other players while at 33%.
Any ideas on how we could better test this across professions? Even if it’s only 8 %, I think we still want it. Especially when it seems to be “the first 8 %” sometimes.
I have actually noticed this as well. Using warrior sprint i am sometimes just matching pace with others, but in other parts of the dungeons/area I will begin to streak ahead again. Usually if i pause for a moment my movement speed increase will kick back in.
