Hi! I’ve just wanted to suggest some “QoL” kind of changes to DR & whole Tyria.
Speaking Ingame, players do support the idea greatly, but I’m really curious about Your opinion.

TL;DR: This is about to adjust & optimalise cities & maps for player’s comfort and a more beliveable world overall. Multiple community hubs, real roads with real forts along… Please take your time and read it.

Divinity’s Reach: Since the ~95% of this beautiful city… an ART is unused & empty, I suggest multiple HUBs here as well as did for LA. This place has really nice districts, so there is no reason to ignore them. What changes am I speaking about?

  • Real Shops with common use items. (materials, ingredients, items..)
  • At least one REAL BLTC House (optimal distance to crafting area)
  • A GemStore Showroom to see things in action (minipets, finishers, armors, etc, even if the improved GUI is already here.)
  • COMMUNITY CORES: Inns, famous Taverns, gardens, etc.
These places woul make quality time spent in better places, better lore, better distances, not-so-secret vendors with multiple goods (not just cloned 100 times), with better FPS values.

Queensdale, Kessex Hills, Gendarran Fields & Fields of Ruin: Better designed trading roads would guide us through a really wonderfull journey, with outstanding map visuals. By optimal distances, some Real fort… and I mean REAL fort as check/safepoint would serve us with the essential traders (Merchant, Repair), the biggest ones even offering BLTC & Crafting, and maybe even a nice Tavern/Inn to meet people who has something to do closeby & organise in style. Let me say, I do get the point why are things as they are, but I highly disagree that it is actualy a good way. It feels like interesting places were randomly placed to fill empty places. Nah, it’s no good. Once you go off the track, you should cross more dangerous fues, not a random guy with hearth to fill.

Your Ideas?

Yeah, I like your idea.

Loooong time ago I posted something similar, which could be adjusted to support your idea pretty well. :-) (Just skip the part about minis ^^)

Thanks! Tyria definetly needs some life after all these “living world” deathpools.

Going out of DR, there should be some REAL villages, like Claypool Town, just bigger & few organised little street.

I really hope some dev actualy able to spend time with it… Do you hear me Gaile Gray?

I support this, all of the Towns need some big overhaul.
The Main Cities are far away from that concept of what Anet has described them how those Main Cities should be in GW2.

They aren’t attractive, they offer absolutely nothing, why you would want to go visit them. The only reason that once existed has been butchered down by Anet by putting an Activity npc into lions arch.

I made once a once about it, that the Devs should ask themself, why they should want to go revisit any of the towns and if their “reasons” are below the number of 3-5 thigns, that the game is in a dire need of gettign the towns redesigned, so that they truly become finally that, what they should be according to their own Manifesto Trailer.

Otherwise that trailer showed just another blending PR feature, that just not exists at all in the way how it got described how it should work in the game.

Polymock, Bar Brawls, Shootign Range and alot of other stuff is still missing since game release, which should have been part of why people should go visit those towns and it saddens me to see, that Anet seems to put absolutely yet no priority in these thigns to improve the game (or they intentionally keep all this stuff back for an expansion somewhen later …so have somethign with that they can hype the people later, with stuff, that should have been again in the game from begin on, but didnt got on, beause NCSoft pushing ANet to release the game quickly on 2012 so that they had not enough time to put evwerythign into the game to ensure that the game gets out 2012, whats also a reason why all those ascended equipment got introduced later, whould they have had more development time, all that stuff would have been from begin on in the game and nobody would have complained about their introduction)

With Lions Arch being now the first one as it got already destroyed, so its the best opportunity now to redesign that town and make it better than before.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

A relatively small team would be able to fix every map one by one…
Isn’t it worth to care for?

I rather have them work on something else.

More hubs around the city to avoid the clusters of Afk dancers in town? Yes please, although I already bought an airship pass but wouldn’t mind this for my other toons.

HUBs serve to spread people at optimal places & to fill the empty map places.
You would have faster map load, more FPS & multiple places of tastes.
Looks like everything designed like people were outside, exploring…
Guess what? People AFK & Chat, just like they did in GW1.

  1. Megaservers introduced to reduce empty exploring
  2. LA has 3 HUBs now. The rest needs it too.

I strongly believe AN really wants to bring their world ALIVE, but no clue why they hold these upgrades/fixes back for so long… :S

(Don’t wonder that people do not actual play when there is no mutch content tho…)
