Dagraan already confirmed, Meteor Shower Doens’t have a Red Circle.

Well I’m here to Confirm that as well.
——-

Here’s a video of a Staff. (Berserker) Elelementalist… as you can see- No Red Circle on the ground when Meteor Shower is cast.

it is understandable by the video that the Elementalists who’s High Damage Aoe’s whom I encountered in wvw was a zerker staff Elementalists..

By the way,

The Elementalist in the video is a Great Player- played very well.

That fact (Meteor Shower doesn’t show a red circle) should be the basis of the complaint and not that Ele’s are OP.
I have been playing in WvW actively for a while now and it’s been a long time since meteor shower has downed me or guildmates.
I have noticed that there are a lot of people running around in WvW with PvE gear on(zerker or power-centric) and they are squishy. It’s not really a LTP but more of a: You know all those badges we’ve been getting lately? Use them to buy some WvW gear with a good bit of toughness and use that set in WvW instead.
And I do know it’s expensive to get a new gear set solely for WvW but with the new achievement chest rewards that cost just dropped significantly.

L2P, I don’t think I’ve ever been taken down by a meteor storm lol. 1 dodge = safety. So difficult, how will we manage?

so by your logic nothing is OP because everything can be dodged ?

By that logic a large casting time, with the fact not all the meteors hit the same spot and that is area effect, make the atack justificated; because you can not only dodge it, you can run of it… and you have to be specially “lucky” (not meaning nothing asociated with luck in reality lol) to get all the meteors on you.

Remember pvp is competitive, if you cant just move away/dodge of a aoe zone, and it have a large cast time with different spots hitting; dont complain about it be OP, because it isnt. Is just that the inability to handle something different than a short casting weak atack; and the alredy described (for Araris.7839) “ability” to go around and get hitted for all the meteors…

pd: enfatized the skill characteristics, so if someone argue this i hope he/she not describe some other skill, or go out of context in a very idiotic way… So please dont dissapoint me, I still have faith in humanity!!

Dagraan already confirmed, Meteor Shower Doesn’t have a Red Circle.

- snip -

What the video shows is interesting. MS is very powerful in a crowded area with a lot of opposing players packing in tight with nowhere to go. There were lots of damage ticks in the 2-4K range. The odds on one person being hit by a lot of meteors is pretty low. though. Choosing to stand in MS is a choice that entails risk. Standing still long enough to let a GC warrior get a full Hundred Blades off on one is risky also.

My take is that the MS skill is a powerful skill that has balance factors: it has a long cast time and can thus be interrupted, the caster is rooted while channeling, it’s easily avoided and it has a longish CD. Counters that work on other attacks (dodge, invulnerability, block, walk out of the area) also work on it. The player in the video is obviously a GC, and survives enemy AoE, including Meteor Shower, by using those counters. There’s also opportunity cost. As A GC, the subject of the video is getting significant damage out of other attacks that take less time to initiate.

As a recipient of MS damage, you feel that the skill is OP. However, the skill is fair. It has balancing factors, can be readily mitigated unless you really want to just stand in it, and is useful in some situations, but not in others. Multiple eles using it at choke points can make one’s time in WvW miserable, but so can many other AoE’s — including siege.

Sorry, I cannot agree that MS needs to be nerfed.

Well ye MS normally isn’t overpowered. But it is kittenen ridicilious when you apply some glass and tornado in it.
Can’t think of any skill coming anywhere near it’s aoe damage with tornado combo. As not many skills can be combined with near double power boosting ellites.
13k crit is my max.

24 meteors dropping, with full glass each 70% crit chance, 110% crit dmg. And Tornado → 4.3k+ power with some might (POWER, not Attack). So yeah it can be way over the top with that combo. Gotto love it.

Seriously I have nothing against Elementalist class but their Aoe; Meteor Shower need be addresed a.s.a.p.

We the community are already having a Painful Long Suffering experience with Thief class, why than allow and add another class to the Irony?

I’m really trying my best in dealing with thieves, than this; Elementalist Aoe.

I’m not saying that thief stealth shouldn’t be Ignored or Forgiven but it is far better than to deal with 1 than many.

As a Ranger class; as many already know, who is struggling to Survive, Enough is Enough

By Allowing Elitist classes OverPunishing the core balance of the game.

I believe all classes should be allowed to have Equal amount of Op skills, yet that is not the case especially with having Thief, and Elementalist classes completely in Violation Intent of Unbalance classes and the core game factor.

Seriously I do like the Elementalist class but they just need to be tamed more.

That’s all

Hey bud I just so happen to stumble on a solution for your problem!
