For serious.

It’d wouldn’t take a lot because you already have the alphas and texture packs done, just make the grey/silver part of Radiant and the black part of the Hellfire gloves/shoulders/helmets/boots dye capable.

I appreciate it’d be hard to change the color of the glows/flames, so just the “metal” part so that we can have SOME kind of choice of coloring it with our armor schemes.

It’s such pretty gear, but it feels unfinished without the ability to dye the main skin to match your current sets.

I strongly agree. It has also been highly requested since the day they released them and it has not been added yet.

Also, I’d like to add that the hellfire helm on asura also requires some attention…still.

Unfinished products get pushed out due to deadlines and they never get revisited and fixed due to yet more deadlines for more items that will also not be finished (one example of the countless many is the recent zodiac armor). Personally, I do not expect them to ever get added dye channels or have the clipping issues fixed. Then again, perhaps one day we will get a nice surprise…

Yeah. Not only would it make them more versatile, but it would help them match across armor types. This is a prestige set, but it’s hard to show them off in an outfit where it’s currently impossible to exactly match it with any of the cloth dye options (even the metal bits can’t be dyed exactly).

The lack of dye channels is one of the reasons I don’t wear mine. It makes them look unfinished and they don’t match my other armor properly.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

This would be a great idea. I almost don’t want to wear them as it is, but the glow effect is too cool not to…

If they add dye channels to these then how can they sell different colored version of them in the gem store in the future?

To be honest I really wish they would add these to gem store. As I don’t only grind achieve points when i play. It will take a ridiculously long time to get 33k+ achieve points. I love the hellfire full armor look, but It isnt even a goal to get it simply because no matter how hard i try it is unobtainable. (considering how many limited events i missed cause i didn’t care to grind achievement points out of them and play every day). And that is coming from someone that has played the game since it first came out. I don’t even want to imagine how unobtainable it would be if i was a new player.

The fact that they take a “ridiculously long time” to get is what makes them special. Making them available in gemshop is like the worst idea ever.

They need to change Hellfire Helmet on Charr to cover the whole neck in Magma, similar to the Zodiac armor.

They alsoneed to change the tail to a flaming tail.

Putting Hellfire/Radiant armor on the gemstore is like when they put Legendaries on the TP. I think they learned their lesson by now and won’t ever do it.

As for the topic, enabling dyes would certainly be a very nice addition, however, what I’d like for those armor is to make them available sooner. For example, now you have to reach 27k for the Leggings, then 30k for the second pair, then 33k for the first chest. There is a 6k AP gap between legs and chest and while Radiant can be mix-matched somewhat, Hellfire cannot. I’d like to get the Chest at 30k to have a complete set at 30k, then get the parts you didn’t pick.

OP’s suggestion is great! I also agree that being able to dye the glow/flames would possibly be too difficult. Not only that, but (imo) it would take away from the look of the set- it would make it look very different to what it’s designed to be.

It’d also be nice if we could have a fix for the hellfire shoulders on charr. I have a charr ele that I’d love to use the skin on, but they’re so floaty and huge that they look ridiculous. You don’t even need to try to see the massive gap between the shoulder piece and the charr body.

Making items that only a handful of people will ever get in a MMO with a 7 digit player population is the kind of special we really, really don’t need. Especially when the cutoff makes them literally impossible to get for everyone that started playing later (well, assuming that they will even become someday possible to get for anyone – because as you know currently they aren’t and it’s not likely to change anytime soon).

I completely agree. I think I’d rock more radiant and hellfire if they had some dye options. The silver part particularly on the radiant makes it very limited as to what you can wear. And the black in the hellfire limits you as to what black dyes you can use (mainly ‘pitch’ works alright, but what if you want the darkest of dark? Like shadow abyss?).

Its exactly what we need. It keeps thousands of people achievement hunting just to get the skins one day. And if you start playing now there are other things to worry about than achievement point unlocks.
