The article is hogwash. The same prediction was made for 2013.
This is simply to bait more viewers. What way to get GW2 fishing for pageviews than talking about an expansion?
I’ve been following the statements put out by KDB Daewoo Securities for some time now, and they’re generally informative and accurate regarding the South Korea-based NCSoft’s plans. I say “generally” because one from early 2013 said that there would be a Guild Wars 2 expansion in the second half of 2013, and we can see how that prediction turned out.

I laugh at the people who comment ‘’2015, lol’’ or something simliar. What do you await, an expansion next month? The marketting itself gotta at leat take 2-3 months, not speaking about hints to build up the hype.

To clarify, they have said that expansion type content has been in the works from the time they released the live game (every company is working on the next thing while the first thing is shipped). They have been deliberately vague about how they will release it since they themselves where debating this. The content I am sure is done, the debate internally is done it is just timing now.

almost. Anet said they will focus on feature updates to tweak the game mechanics in response to players suggestions. I don’t see an announcement coming before that or even before season 2 LS.
I will be more than happy to hear it today though xD
Lol if they don’t launch an expansion until 2015 this game will be a ghost town and it won’t matter anymore.
