Falling damage
Why?
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
I’m not sure if its about this that OP is talking, but I keep getting “Falling” damage on some cliffs sliding.I mean, walkinf trough a ramp road and getting falling damage.
Exaclty how we had get damage in the stair at tower of nightmares. I think it is some sort of bug, but it terrible when yo have to stop in middle of a road to recover your health and then can keep going trough it.
Oh, i love how your character lands on his stomach when falls from somewhere high enough… Wouldn’t want to see a change there.

Yeah the ramp inclines with messed up polygon triggers on the layered suface triggering fall damage every step you take unless you stop is insane.
This is easy repeatable… If you go into any server blorderland and go to the south ruin cap… the steep stairs will actually trigger this effect when walking down them.

I am afraid to be too specific, I have been infracted twice on this topic. All I am saying, which is probably not news, is that the damage we take while sliding and the damage we take while falling should be scaled. Just my opinion of an otherwise great game. Did I say that right? Will you let my family go now??
Sometimes you run down a slope on the Edge and get a truckload of instakilling damage in 0,5 secs because you dared to use swiftness. ;D

That walking and talking falling damage problem has been an issue since long before release.
Well, if you think this is a bug or not working as intended, you should post this in the bugs forum and not start a rant topic in the general duscussions forum.

Sure, it would make more sense if it was, but where would be the fun in that?
What’s the point of getting to level 80 if you can’t jump off insanely high objects, stand up, and walk away like nothing happened?
On a related note, though they may be next to useless in actual combat, I love those traits that half falling damage. Jumping off of things is fun. =P

Yes. There are places in this game that were not designed for anyone going faster than normal speed. I took my elementalist over the big hill in Wayfarer Foothills going +25%, and on the way down it was rek city. Took me a few minutes to figure out what was happening as there was no immediate indication that I should be taking fall damage.
It’s a fairly rare occurrence, but definitely indicative of a problem in the fall damage calculation that needs to be addressed.

Fall damage is scaled. It is a percentage of your maximum health.
This has been a known issue along with many others for a very long time now without a word or fix which tells me they don’t care in the least, working as intended.

I’ve died as one of those spirit of light things in edge of the mists whilst going down some stairs.
ie. Not jumping at all. Going down stairs in a straight line.
Working as intended.
