Fear not affected by condition duration
What about immobilize? Does condition duration work with it?
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
What about immobilize? Does condition duration work with it?
I think it does.
As for fear duration, how long would it last if 100% condition duration affected it?
If fear was much longer it would probably be too easy to keep people off of control points in spvp. On the plus side it is not affected by enemies stacking condition duration decreasing food and runes.

That is a plus, I didn’t think of that.
I was going to also ask what are the pluses of Fear vs other conditions too. Considering how many people are adopting the Melandru runes + lemongrass poultry combo in WvW, it does make a significant difference against players without high condition duration or CC extention bonuses. I didn’t know it didn’t work with fear though it makes sense.
How would you like it if you ran out of stun breaks and then got feared for twenty seconds?
How would you like it if you ran out of stun breaks and then got feared for twenty seconds?
Considering you would need +2000% condition duration to fear someone for 20 seconds under the OP’s request your argument is invalid.
I don’t find it unreasonable.
As for fear duration, how long would it last if 100% condition duration affected it?
Obviously 100% more: for example, if base fear is 1s with 100% will become 2s (for this reason “Fear Me!” and Skull Fear duration should be toned down as they can last for 3s atm).
If fear was much longer it would probably be too easy to keep people off of control points in spvp.
What about Shield of Absorption? Or Into the Void or other dislocation abilities and control effects?
A combination of this mechanics are a easy way to keep people off a control point in sPvP, not fear.
Fear atm can’t be used to send outside a enemy standing the middle of the point (he should be at least on the edge), how can fear become a easy way to keep them off as fear comes with a base cooldown of:
20 and 40 seconds for necros
80 for warriors
45 for thieves
45 for a ranger with a wolf pet
10 seconds with a Norn in Become the Wolf (a racial elite that last 30 seconds and have 240 seconds of cd that can’t be used in sPvP)?
Why Fear is not affected by condition duration?
What led you to believe that it isn’t?
Did you set-up some kind of test/experiment to verify it?
Northern Shiverpeaks
Fear is affected by Condition duration, I use a 100% condi duration build on my necro (30% from Spite, 40% from Rare Pizza, 10% from 2x Lyssa, 10% from 2x Mad King and 10% from Giver’s weapon.) and my Fear last twice as long in WvW/PvE.
Any class can achieve this 100% condition duration for Fear.
Panhauramix Guardian/Pistoleros Engineer/ Orbite Thief
Gates of Madness – Leader of Homicide Volontaire [HV]
I’ve tested it in sectember, maybe something is changed (as you can see here they tought the same).
Time to test again.
lol…. This was a great thread till someone stomped on the entire premise of the thing. Person after person making comments about something no one understand.
Yes, condition duration effects fear… why would it not? It is a condition after all, and can be cleared like any other condition. It just happens to be breakable by a stun break as well.
The only limitations are that condition duration is capped at 100%, and fear specifically is capped at a max of 5 seconds. So you cannot take skull fear with 100% duration and get 6 seconds, only 5.
