For quite a while now I’ve been doing all the daily achievement I can reasonably do.

While most dailies can easily be done within your normal play-routine, some require you to go out of your way to do them.

1. Defense Restorer – Use 25 supplies to repair something in WvW. This can either be very quick and easy,or take forever since you can’t influence it. With the constant flipping of objectives it can actually be quite hard to find something to repair. Often there simply isn’t anything to repair and you have to head to the EotM to find something. This isn’t very cool.

It’s also odd that it would ask for 25 supplies, which requires you to run three times if you can only carry 10 supplies at a time.

I would either like to see this daily achievement include the construction of siege-equipment or be reduced to 20 supplies.

2. Underwater kills – There just isn’t that much underwater content to be done, let alone anything that anyone would do in their normal routine. Normally this achievement just forces you to straight-up farm the mobs in some area. And because underwater combat is so slow and tedious, this can take a while and isn’t much fun.

25 kills is also a huge number and more than most events would ever require of you. It could use a serious reduction to 15.

3. Caravan disrupter – 5 caravan kills, again, strikes me as an odd number and can be hard to achieve at times. You will frequently find Dolyaks standing idle in a supply camp when they have nowhere to go, but that’s your main source. When running in a group it can also be difficult to tag the Dolyaks in time, especially if you tend to be slow and/or rely on conditions.

Here a reduction to 4 caravans would seem fair, as that means clearing two supply camps with 2 idle Dolyaks, which isn’t that uncommon to find in half-an hour’s play-time.

4. World Ranker – Getting 2 WvW ranks within a day requires quite a bit of play-time or heavy WXP farming, which on some days can be difficult to achieve. When you are heavily outnumbered it can be hard enough to attain a single rank, let alone two. Even if you do it on different characters. This is what most people seem to save their WXP flasks for, so they have a more reasonable chance of attaining this daily achievement.

Without WXP flasks to hamster, this daily achievement would be quite the pita.

5. Daily Feast – I find it hard to imagine any scenario where you’d normally be consuming 25 items of food. I mean the buffs alone would last 12.5 hours. Even the most committed player doesn’t play that much. Most people are just forced to spend some money on the cheapest food available, which kind of defeats the purpose.

I’m not sure what the goal of this achievement is, but consuming 25 food items isn’t practical.

6. Fractals Runner – This one is tricky as it practically requires you to commit yourself to a complete fractals run, which typically takes well over an hour. This is one I frequently skip because it just takes too much time and leaving a group after the first fractal is hardly something I endorse.

It would be nice to see some of these dailies tweaked. It’s odd that you can complete some by logging in for 30 seconds while others require you to commit and hour of your time.

I don’t think I have ever seen ‘Repair’ as a Daily Achievement. I can’t find it listed in the wiki, either.

I don’t find killing underwater mobs difficult, at all. In fact, it is one of the faster ones to do.

Daily Feast may be incongruous, but buying a bag of rice for 49 Karma is quick and easy. Takes all of 2 minutes, at most.

I don’t have a problem with World Ranker. It’s easy with laurels, if you don’t have the time. But, that’s just me.

As for the others, just not something I do, just like JPs. Not part of my interest-group.

But, like many things in the game, some are important, and others are not so important. We should all play the parts we find fun, and leave the other parts to those that have an interest in doing them. =)

Fractal takes only one fractal, not all four. Just put up an lfg for “doing one level 1 fractal for daily” if you really want that 1 ap.

This is a good suggestion as it means the group that forms has the same goal and you don’t have to feel like a kitten for ditching after the first fractal is complete.

Some people like underwater combat, some people like WvW, some people have way too many leftovers from chef-crafting. That’s why there are more than 5 achievements.. you can choose what to do.

The variety of Daily achievements were designed so that people who do specific types of activities in GW2 should be able to hit their Daily without going out of their way to do so. A “normal” player should only be aiming for 5 or so a day. If you make the decision to do more than that, you’re probably doing so for AP farming, in which case it’s kind of expected that you’ll go out of your way to do so.

I don’t think I have ever seen ‘Repair’ as a Daily Achievement. I can’t find it listed in the wiki, either.

It’s called Daily Mists Defense Restorer, as the OP said it requires you spend 25 supplies to repair walls/gates.

This achievement is terrible, and it serves no purpose in WvW. It makes people use their supply (or worse, the Keep’s own supply) to repair walls that are getting hit by trebuchets, which is entirely useless. Although allowing construction of siege to progress this Achievement would help people who want to finish it quickly, it wouldn’t exactly help WvW, people would just drop their Rams in the middle of nowhere and build them (and they will count towards the siege limit).

Reducing the amount of supply required or removing this Achievement completely is better. It hinders WvW and it’s a chore for non-WvWers to make.

Underwater: if you go kill lower level mobs, underwater kills can be faster than kills on land, you just have to find the proper place that you 1-shot them (drake or scale hatchlings work wonders, they come in huge numbers)

World Ranker: This is a rather easy to do achievement if you play WvW and you have alts. Get your alts to 90% of the next rank and leave them, then play with another char. When the time comes and the achievement is available, rank up the two characters, takes less than 1 minute if you have them close to ranking up. I use 4 of my chars in WvW (waiting for account bound WvW ranks) with different WvW abilities on each one, so they have different roles.

Another option to save the WvW experience potions, is to use them on your alts, low ranks require less experience for the next rank, so using the potions on lower ranked characters will allow you to save Potions. And since WvW ranks will become account bound (some time…) you won’t have wasted your potions.

Ah, thanks. I rarely do WvW dailies, so I was not familiar with it.
