Q:

Even do we have mobs that have some slight glances to AI (some mobs actually can use dodge roll), we get nerfs on power dmg output. Instead of implementing a more complex AI to mobs in dungeons, champs and so on , most fixes we seen so far were fixed in 2 ways :
1. Player cannot crit specific type of mobs
2. Mobs have insane amount of hp.

Impact of this type of changes made us only spend more time stuck near some wall stacking might.

Other example is current Tequatl, due to players ability to overdps this dragon , they went to worst possible fix for it, nerf lazer dmg. not that it work in any way.

With all this said, my question is, looking at current meta, what is the problem here, bad (on none at all) AI or dps output ? Would it not look better if , for example Lupi, would do a dodge move once 5 wars stack him to the wall and try 100b him , and with that nullify that huge dmg burts ? It takes just one dodge roll to do that ….

Just asking ….

Bad mob design.

I dont think its bad at all. Think about those mobs in Queensdale , they dodge , they stun/kick you, they do not stack so much when u try to wall them.

It seems they do it at random. Bandits dodge but would often roll right into enemy AoE or face first into my axe. They have the tools to make things a bit more interesting, but it doesn’t work very well because of poor AI.

MMO developers create the illusion of ‘challenge’ by giving mobs huge health pools, high armor levels, one-shot mechanics, and so on. This is true for GW2 and any other MMO that I know of.

When I say “bad mob design” I’m talking about everything; huge health pools, one-shot mechanics, bad AI, etc.

You are qute right there, but there are ways to make it more fun and to stop this , wallstacking problem , other then addinh hp or nerfing dps.

That’s also the problem with the dynamic event system. Mobs often times bunch up and get melted by the ridiculous amounts of AoE (I feel there’s way too much AoE in this game) and don’t attempt to spread out.
