No. They don’t work for you. They don’t work for anyone. On kill sigils, traits and food do not work in LS (with I believe only one exception – they worked underground maze in S2 EP7?).

You are correct – the problem is a mental infarction that occurred in the decision making and/or coding of the LS. Apparently ANet is so hell bent on no one farming any of the LS that everything is zero XP and zero loot (the 2 things I’ve heard mentioned as possible triggers for “kill an opponent”) thereby rendering a significant number of sigils, food and few (sometimes critical) traits worthless in the LS. LS is the only place I’ve encountered this with any regularity.

LS is the problem, well, not in a black or white way.
But becos LS does seem to have alot foes that give no XP.

thereby rendering a significant number of sigils, food and few (sometimes critical) traits worthless in the LS. LS is the only place I’ve encountered this with any regularity.

This is an important reason why i stopped playing LS

Not only stacking sigils do not proc, al;so a lot of traits on death and food.

Living story p2: no XP & triggers on deaths

All kills made in the living story do NOT give XP, resulting in a lot of problems
Following normal game this causes a few things to not work as intended:

- Stacking sigils do NOT fuction
no count. so all builds which depend on some specific stacking stat.
So you’d better buy fixed sigils instead of stacking ones…

do “not use” (=> alternative)
no bloodlust (11 gold)=> force (6 gold),
no corruption (2 gold) => bursting, (15 gold)
no perception (1 gold) => accuracy, (1.6 gold)
no momentum. (6.5 gold)
no life, (12 s)
no benevolence (2.5s)

- loot drops, No XP = No drops. (= least of the problems, but lame nevertheless)

- Vengeance on Warrior will NEVER TRIGGER and res you as you havent killed an NPC but a critter with much HP.
This will require you to be ressed by the NPC’s if available… also goes for the mesmer skill…

- Food doesn’t trigger on death , neither do Traits, and neither do Sigils
so do not use:

Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

Just to sum it up, on kill effects do not work in the living story because of the anti farming implementations in place. There’s nothing to fix here really. You really don’t have that many mobs in the instances in the first place. It’s certainly not holding you back from completing the story.

A whole group of sigils don’t work in LS and there’s “nothing to fix”? If they can fix tool tips then this is surely more important. Yes, the content is still doable without them, but having an arbitrary nerf for a certain type of sigil is bad game design.

On a slightly different note, if it’s just the XP why not, have all creatures in LS give 1xp each? Nobody’s going to alter their gameplay to farm that, but all the on kill effects start working.

LS is however where it has the most impact. If you don’t get stacks at Claw of Jormag
its not that important .. if you play personal story you often don’t even have those
sigills and traits .. LS2 however is level 80 so you mostly are full equipped and traited
and have to fight against hordes of mobs .. and no stacks at all.

I’ve already changed all my stacking sigills against 7% crit-chance and 5% damage or so ..

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

what Cassius means is this: your OP simply says “fix it.” your OP doesn’t say anything about what’s broken. Cassius is suggesting that you edit your OP to say that on-kill sigils don’t work in LS instances.

PS: i really hope you filed a bug report in game when you played through the LS instance. that bug report automatically includes specific time / server location etc information that would help the dev team see exactly what you are referring to.

Is anyone noticing the new boss event isn’t giving bloodlust or Master’s bond to ranger pets. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Master%27s_Bond

I did it last night, zoned in on map that had the new boss event. I noticed I wasn’t getting bloodlust and my pet wasn’t getting Master’s bond. I thought at the time that it was bugged.

I noticed as well that the new boss event is the same as LS – no on kill activation. The only “good” part is that you can walk into the event with a partial to full stack. Seriously, this is just becoming pathetic – just stop it already ANet – make every mob in the LS and/or new boss give 1 xp or 1 copper (or whatever the hell it is that is creating the problem) and fix it already.

Then they will maybe also drop loot. They must change the trigger from on exp to
on kill, and then put in some more “if then else” conditions so that it is not triggered
on ambient mobs and whatever else was the reason to thinking it was a good
solution to bundle loot and on-kill effect with exp.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.

I have a theory that loot drop is also an On Kill effect which calls the same function that all other On Kill effects call, so any change that would implement an exp threshold would also have the same effect on traits, sigils, and foods.

If that’s the case they would need to implement a new function that only the On Kill effect for loot will call, but that might not be a desirable solution because a) it introduces new overhead to the server (since ever kill now calls an additional function), which might cause lots of lag, and b) runs the risk of breaking either or both functions (happens even in “simpler” programs where you have two nearly-identical functions being called at the same time, on the same actor), which can cause On Kill traits/sigils/food to not work, or loot to never drop, or both.

Yeah I’ve not been a fan of personal story and LS since the sept patches where kills in the story don’t count as actual kills for stacking sigils, and effects like guardian virtues recharging on kills.

I can do them and their challenges without.. but.. it is pretty annoying. that one of the most important functions of my guardian build is broken. and can’t be used.

Never did it with a guardian, but i’m sure especially that would annoy me to hell if i can’t spam F1 all the time when i have to deal with masses of mobs.

Yup, in open world, in dungeons and fractals, I start every fight by using F1 to blind everything and give me might and put vuln on the mobs, and as I kill more I gain more might,s tack more vuln and re blind.

But in LS.. I mean I’m used to using it, I pull, hit F1, kill, and then… wait 15s on cooldown still?
