Fixes for Lower population Servers?
You will be able to guest in one of the high population servers for any PvE area.
ioj is in a pretty ill condition. In time it’ll level out, it’s up to you to decide if you’re going to ride that train.

So this may be what the fix is? That would drain even more players out of certain areas. Not good if that’s the fix.
The fix is the same as it is in every other MMO known to man: Transfer to a populated server or wait for them to eventually force you to.
GW2 really thrives on populated zones for open world PvE. With their overflow tech in place even before launch, theres no reason to have too many servers. They should merge them to have like half the number of servers.

You might be right. However I did read something a month or so ago where Anet indicated they were trying to fix some of these issues, and I’m not sure the issues I brought up in the OP are the same as other MMOs.
The real fix is to retain and gain more customers than you lose each month. That requires DEs that reliably aren’t bugged, AI that is reliable, longstanding skill & trait bugs fixed, artwork issues (clipping, tearing, dyeing, etc.) fixed, culling fixed, and a sense that the GW2 designers comprehend the playerbase’s desires such that the game evolves in a way that builds enthusiasm, rather than in ways that sometimes are head-scratching.
