I had only used a BL kit a couple times during this glitch, but I did salvage a good number of items with Mystic and Master kits. I’m sure I lost out on more than a few ecto.

The gesture is surely appreciated, and I’m almost certain a BLSK is more valuable than whatever number of ecto I didn’t get. I’d say this was a fine way to make good on the mistake.

did everyone get a black lion kit? I’m not sure i got one.

Even though I only performed a few salvages with a (free) BLSK during the time the bug was active, I have received a replacement BLSK in the mail.

While I sympathize that this compensation doesn’t sufficiently cover the loss that some people suffered while salvaging was bugged, I would like to thank ArenaNet for making this gesture of apology towards the player-base.

I haven’t gotten one yet. Has anyone else not received one?

I haven’t got one. If they are literally mailing one to everyone it might take a while to get through the system.

Pretty sure I used up my BLK on Tuesday or Wednesday. But no big deal if I never get one. Its nice to see them doing this though.

A lot of decent companies would make things right if they messed something up. Anet isn’t special in that way but it’s nice nonetheless.

I would hope people that used a mystic salvage kit get SOMETHING back since you know.. we spent money on the stones to make the kits. If not then that is kittening bullkitten.

Hoping that there’s no qualifier for the freebie. I only broke down about 15 rares since the bug occurred so I can’t complain about a massive loss.
I wonder if exotics were effected or BLSK because I did notice that when I broke down my 6 exotics that I crafted long ago and would never use again, I only got 6 ecto total and that was using BLSK not the master’s salvage kit. I was sweating when I got a few 0 ecto breakdowns. Still the sample size is tiny so as always ‘RNG is RNG’. Just mentioning that because it occurred at the same time as this bug and most were saying their BLSK’s were acting normal. Mine sure didn’t.

I get the impression the qualifier is that you used a Black Lion kit during the bug. As I did not do so, I have not (as of last night) received a kit, which is fine as the bug did not affect me.

I agree with this. I didn’t use a black lion kit during the bug (only a mystic salvage kit) and I didn’t receive anything.

The fact that I’d transferred this “bought” kit to my inventory while the bug was active and I was finishing up the uses of the “free” kit might have made me eligible for the replacement I received, but I don’t know for sure.

Gems for my BLSK were purchased with gold not cash. I should have made it clearer that I received a replacement kit, so I’m happy even though I would have been okay without reimbursement as I only did about half a dozen salvages while the bug was active.

And yes, if anyone feels they should have received a replacement kit, it wouldn’t hurt for them to contact support and ask about it.

I never got one but I only used a master’s salvage kit. So I guess it’s only if you used a BL kit during that time. Oh well, it was only 15 silver for the kit and about 25 rares.

Checked all my mail and still no kit. I got one for dailies today so I suppose it worked out for me, but it seems likely that something isn’t working as intended for me to not have recieved one. Personally the small loss from a seemingly generous gesture doesn’t bother me today, but if whatever error is an issue in the future I at least want to document and research it myself. Thanks for it in concept, anyway.

Just an FYI from my experience. I used a freebie BLSK that I got from dailies. I had just purchased one because I was over halfway through the free kit but I never used the purchased kit.
And to that end, I never received a replacement either.
