Simplyfied skills, hundreds of useless skins(especially in pvp which is a joke), PvP is primitive. What’s good about GW2? mostly tank and healer in GW1 were hard to find, in GW2 this problem doesn’t exist, they brought back even more mini games which were great in GW1, jumping puzzles are cool too.Monks may be gone but Guardians and heavy’s in general are always asked/wanted in high level fractals (the only half challenging part of pve)
Why would you want a Guardian in high level fractals when armor becomes pointless your going to die in 1 to 3 shots even if you have the most armor. I think the closet thing to a monk may be a full support ele or even a full support necro you can kind of make any class in GW2 some what of the monk roll (stander support to support healer).
Monks may be gone but Guardians and heavy’s in general are always asked/wanted in high level fractals (the only half challenging part of pve)
Depends, I was kicked from a group for a T4 trial because I was a guardian and they needed profession with a higher dps, sometimes people are searching only for a warriors or guardians but these are a seldom cases.
Or, how some people can think they know so much that they can speak for the developers, and yet not be one.
see what I did there?
The annoyance cuts both ways, and both disrupt communication.
Except I’m not speaking for the developers. I’m saying what they’ve said and done. Quite a different thing. Nice try though.

People are doing T4 trial in groups now?
All high level fractal groups “require” a Guardian in order to play, I’ve seen pugs quit groups when no Guardian was around, as if they are healers or something.
You don’t NEED a Guardian for High level fractals, you need people with a brain and some reflection skills.
Here’s a counter argument for all the people who say GW1 isn’t an MMO. yes it’s part co-opRPG. But i don’t see you doing this in a co-op-rpg

aoe condi removal and mainly reflection walls. You will never see a pug group doing a lev30+ without at least 1 guardian

Sounds like Mesmer fill this roll better then a Guardian.

Well they have there glimmers that do just what you want a Guardian to do so… Also Mesmer has offhand forces that is anty range attk they have shaders remove condition too. Even an Ele has better aoe condition remove then a Guardian. Though Ele can only destroy ranges attks not bounce them back.

No one is looking for a guardian mainly for condi removals, that’s just a plus. People look for guardians because they have the most reflect walls which are stupidly OP in high level fractals. This will be even more noticeable when they unlock that lev50 fotm barrier and let us go over it. I bet 2 guardians will be the req for any decent lev60+ fractals because it makes THAT much of a difference

Do you have any of the two classes and played for over an hour of each? Have you ever done fractals passed lev40? You wouldn’t be saying that if you did. Not only guardians have more projectile reflecting/blocking skills that are better but there’s also builds involved. You can’t just spec for glamour, have IC for illusions generation, have good aoe damage, reflect on focus and have Shattered Conditions… we don’t have access to 150 trait points

I am just trying to point out how close minded your being when you say you MUST have one class over another and the reason your using are simply not true. Have YOU tried support Mesmer in fractal? Also you do not have to spec for glamours to make it work.

Temporal Enchanter/Glamour Mastery is the least you can do for feedback to even compared mes reflects to guardian ones. I did multiple runs with 4 mesmers and 1 war (always wanted 5 mes team but there’s always ppl rage quitting because “we’re all squishy and no guardian WTF”) and it was fine but with a good guardian it makes lev48 fractals almost as easy as if you were doing lev10 ones and with a mesmer you can’t do that

See THAT the problem and how all this relates back into this thread its the PLAYERS that are making GW2 seem like its a step backwards from GW1. It may not be the best way of doing something but you CAN do it that is a step forward from GW1 because you NEED class to be a tank and to be a healer.

of course you can do it, you can do it with 5 rangers if you want to, but it won’t be as smooth as a balanced group with reflects. I never cared about if you’re heavy class or not (im normally the person who says “ligh armor+brain>5sig warrior in heavy armor”) but reflects are important and guardian is a champion at that
