GW2 needs a permanent PvE zerg/farm like MKL
Yeah, I’m for anything that would take at least some farming zergs out of open world so I don’t have to watch this sad spectacle.

Bring back LS s1 and people would be able to farm the attack on Lions Arch to their hearts content. They said they’d bring that stuff back didn’t they?
I agree that these players should be locked away somewhere… but they’ll only zerg there if that place is the most profitable use of their time. This would mean that this place would be (at least seen as) the place to farm, possibly even dragging newer player into thinking this is how the game is supposed to be played.
I’d suggest actually fixing some core issues with the game to simply deter zerging, but that takes effort.
I guess, that’s the last thing Guild wars 2 needs after already over 2 years.
I was under the impression that LS S1 would be changed significantly, and would be in the same “up to 5 player instance” format as LS S2 when they bring it back. But do I like that idea.
Isn’t that what EotM is?
re: Isn’t that what EotM is? – EotM is neither PvE, nor intended for farming. And the farming zergs have generated hostility on both sides because of this. So no, that isn’t what EotM is.

It seems to be as much PvE as it is PvP.
re: (EotM)It seems to be as much PvE as it is PvP. – EotM is not intended for zerg farming. The point is to get farming zergs out of areas where they’re disruptive. Into an area intended for zerg farming.
Lol… I really want you to be kidding but I don’t think you are…
EotM is a full time PvE zerg farm, was it intended to be? No. But it is, and yes there is hostility but don’t worry about it because red can’t talk to blue… ( it’s Ok no one cares about green anyways). Its also perfect for locking people up because its in the mists so they can’t hurt tyria from there anyways.

EoTM doesn’t have trash mobs and that’s where the profit is. Champs got nothing on stacks of T6 bags.

EotM is not intended for zerg farming.
I disagree.
Zerg farming was a known factor, predating EotM’s development. EotM was designed to encourage/reward zerg farming.
If I know that X is the consequence of doing Y then doing Y carries with it the intent for X to happen.
ANet has shown a dislike of farms.
There used to be a zerg train in Queensdale. Went around and killed champions. Now not very many are champions anymore.
People used to farm dungeons. Then ANet limited the profitable rewards to once per day.
People used to farm world bosses a lot more. Then they made the highly profitable part of the rewards (the guaranteed rare, the chest the boss spawns), to once per day.
People don’t farm for the sake of farming for the most part. Most primarily farm for one of four reasons in GW2:
*Money (either directly through gold, or indirectly through drops)
*Chance for a rare drop
*Karma
*Experience
An event is only chosen as a farm spot for money if it’s ratio of gold to time is better than anything else (or in the top 2 to 3 to account for DR). But too profitable to time spent and it wrecks the economy. And it becomes necessary to farm to get gear. Which is what ANet wants to avoid: necessary grind.
Rare items only work until the player gets the item. But if you make the chance of dropping too low, people will give up on getting the item.
Karma is like money. But instead of wrecking the karma economy, it would just trivialize it.
Experience will only work in areas where you are upleveled and then they’d be competing against the level 80’s for credit. Or you risk it being too easy for the maxed level, fully geared players. Or too hard for the low level characters in their level appropriate gear.
WvW and EotM work because those mixed PvE/PvP areas are not supposed to be balanced in terms of how it easy for a level 80 vs a level 2.
I really doubt given ANet’s past history with farm locations that they’ll add in an area that was designed for farming.
