Guild Wars 2

I know that the official soundtrack was released with the collector’s edition of Guild Wars 2, but I was wondering if there would be a full updated version available for sale with Heart of Thorns?

I love the game soundtrack, and while I know I can just go and find it on youtube and listen to it there, I would rather support a great composer and the game I love by making an official purchase, as I am sure other fans would do if the option was available.

So this is a question to ArenaNet, and a hope, that this will be available in future :)

It is no longer available for purchase, as far as I know. Many people had issue with the composer’s company, and never received the product they paid for.

What came in the collector’s edition was a tiny sampler. Like, six two-minute snippets and if that’s an exaggeration, it’s not one by much. Since the soundtrack was my biggest impetus to buying the physical copy, I was a bit sad.

The four disk set was sold by a company so rife with bad practices that I was driven to my only time in my life condoning of digital piracy. I would still not have pirated it myself, but I really can’t blame anyone who does. Soule might be a great composer (I find the newer stuff by Diemer superior) but supporting his company is not recommended. Not that you can, he’s severed his links to ANet.

If you’re loaded with cash and willing to use EBay, check there. The cd’s might be available that way.

Fear Not This Night is one of my favorite pieces ever. It’s perfect in The Grove and at the end of the personal story track.. Yes I’d love this to happen. Yes, I could also just record it off YouTube.

Guess I was lucky. I ordered the soundtrack quite in the beginning (but after receiving my delayed my Collector’s Edition of the game which had a 5 dollar coupon). It did take up to four weeks before my OST was delivered, but I received a notice of delay. Eventually it arrived just fine (and apparently signed). It’s a shame it’s no longer available because it has quite some good songs on it.

Thanks for the information about the soundtrack. I do hope that they will get something sorted out for the expansion released.

Agree, CE would be best imo, cause that would make it accessable for EU people (the site of Soule isn’t friendly for EU people, especially shipping costs). I’d buy it in a heartbeat (especially if every single song from Diemer is also on it).

Even though copyright stuff tends to be very sticky, Fear not This night is a way to good song, to just be in trimmed down version on Grove vista’s (no voice, climax part taken out), or just at end credits (wich you wouldnt access all that often). It should instead be in more parts of the game, and sold as a soundtrack.
