Am i the only one, beginning to get a bit bored with GW2?

First of all. No i didnt rush to lvl 80. I came lvl 80 this thursday.

Now that im 80, i just really dont know what to do.
Sure i could “grind” dungeons for tokens to buy gear. But dungeons just isnt that fun.
Exploring areas is alright, until youve done done it for a while, then its kinda lame aswell.
PvP is cool, but doing the same gamemode over and over again is just boring.
There isnt really anything to achieve in this game, if you know what i mean.

ArenaNet doesnt seem to give any news or updates, on what they are working on.
Sure they say once in a while what they have “fixed” but nothing else.
It may be because its F2P, that, thats their excuse. But im telling you guys, this game will soon be losing players, alot of players, if ArenaNet doesnt soon give us some “News”.

Please GW2 Fanboys, dont get all mad. It can be that its only me, and that maybe MMO’s are just losing my interest, or i dunno.

What do you guys think?

EDIT:
Heres a list of some ideas ive come up with. Please comment and feel free to add your own.

Do you feel that you need direction in your games? I believe that is an issue for a lot of people. And is why sandbox games in general are not that popular (not saying GW2 is a sandbox, it isn’t, but it doesn’t have directive goals for you to attain that most themepark mmos have).

Not sure why you have two threads on the same subject. shrug

Anyway, looks like you mostly just want more sPvP modes and you want competitive PvE.

As far as sPvP I think they stated (sorry I don’t have the source) that they have many modes that they sort of kick around and develop. They only released the one mode because it had the best balance and they’re trying to make sPvP into an eSport. Essentially, I doubt they’ll release new sPvP modes at a quick rate to ensure balance.

As far as competitive PvE, yeah you’re probably sol outside of the mini games. We just have the keg brawl game at the moment but supposedly they have more they will release. Hope they add more here soon as the keg one is pretty fun.

Yeah i know what you mean. But no thats not what im looking for..
But i mean for example, the game should be as far away from “grinding” as possible, and yet theyve made the exact thing they tried not to make.

Dungeons for example, people find groups and keeps doing the same bosses over and over and over. its boring, it ruins the game.

Instead they could have increased the difficulty of the dungeon and made them a whole lot longer, and increased the tokens you get.

I can only seem to play for a few hours or so now without getting a headache. I want the rest of the CoF armor but they kind of screwed that up. So now I just sit outside of the dungeon for an hour hoping a group might pop up, do it once or twice and get off because I get headaches when I am really annoyed.

I get what you’re saying as far as grinding. Honestly, I think a large part of the blame here lies with the players. I don’t know if grinding is addictive or what but dungeons are being treated as a huge grind at the moment (which is sad). I don’t know how they can fix this. Maybe a better dungeon finder would help because that way getting a group together wouldn’t be such a huge event and you’d be more likely to just casually hop into a dungeon. (and the token drop is increasing)

Best way to approach the problem of grinding is if the game feels like a grind then stop what you’re doing. That could me step away from the game for a while or just doing something else (I leveled up cooking a bit for variety, myself).

As i wrote before, make dungeons longer, increase tokens, make everybody who joins get a cooldown on the dungeon. Its an really easy fix, but ArenaNet is slacking more than BioWare did with SWTOR..

They’re increasing the number of tokens, so that will make the grind easier. They also said that the anti-speedrun fix is bugged and they are working to fix it. So when it comes to the situation around dungeons, it’s probably best to see what they do to address it — because they have already said they are working on a fix.

And that I like crafting…and WvW…

There’s plenty to DO. Just people need different incentives. I love achievement scores/trophies. Some people really just want better stats and will do nearly anything for them.

Also, I recommend that if you are feeling bored…take a break It’s ok, the game will still be here when you get back.

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s patch.

Here’s what people thought of GW1 when it first came out: http://tinyurl.com/bntcvyc

Please, dont be fanboyish… The only place you are in overflow is in Lions Arch, because its the “main city”. And no… there may be a queue for wvw, but its not long. not as it used to be. So please come back with a valid augument… The game may not be losing alot of players now, but it will happen soon, if game continues like this. It will go the same way as SWTOR.

Here is a basic fact with all forms of entertainment. Everything comes to an end and nothing lasts forever. Eventually any game gets boring it depends on the person on how long that takes. There are things to do at 80 like world verse world but yes most of the fun was getting to that point and the game being new does not have tons of end game content. So I mean not much else to say with these kinds of posts. Go play something else I guess if your bored until more stuff gets added?

The whole game is the endgame, there will never be something that’s different from what’s in the game now that you can only do once you stop leveling.

It has nothing to do with not agreeing with me. The point is you defend the game, even though you know what your saying isnt true.

QFT

It seems to be a response when they can’t think of an argument to refute the others point.

Anyway, the game isn’t going to appeal to everyone. Anet even said that this is a drop in and play type of game, it’s not designed to occupy your whole playing life. Just don’t play for a period of time and then come back later, or if you really just don’t like the game then that’s ok too, plenty of other games out there.

Huh? I added a second paragraph to better explain my reasoning a second after the post. Are you saying you are now anti-reason?

Anet even said that this is a drop in and play type of game, it’s not designed to occupy your whole playing life.

So it is not even a real RPG then?

It will go the same way as SWTOR.

Hardly as SWTOR has a monthly fee this game doesn’t. So more players will stick with this game as it advances than pay $15 a month for a fail game like SWTOR. Guild Wars survives because of no monthly fees. Same with this game.

How will it survive, if its boring?
The problem with SWTOR wasnt that you had to pay fee.
Look at WoW for example.
People dont see the monthly fee they pay, they dont care if the game is good.
SWTOR wasnt, or it was, but i lacked updates and fixes.
GW2 is heading the same direction.

What’s a “real” RPG?

Character progression.
Repetition.
Creativity.
Dedication to your main.

My ideal MMORPG would be like this:

Fantasy setting.
Very slow leveling curve.
Complexity like EvE Online.
Sandboxy like SWG.
Only one character allowed.
Trinity.
Semi permadeath.
Distinct classes with a set role.
Racial bonuses suchkitten damage for orcs etc.
Longevity.
