This is not a hate topic on skins being in the cashshop. RNG aside, I think Anet has one of the better cashshop systems in a b2p/f2p MMO.
My problem with the skins is that they are complete sets. None of my characters wear complete sets of anything, they are all mix and match. I wonder if they would ever split the skins up and let us buy individual pieces? Even at a higher cost for the individual piece?

One complete set is 800gems, for example. Each piece being 133gems each. Maybe sell each piece for 150 gems? Complete set would end up being a ‘discount’.
There are various pieces from different sets I would buy if offered individually. As of now, its not worth it for me to drop 800gems when I only want 1 or 2 of the 6.

I agree with that. I dropped 1300 gems (70g when I bought them) for 2 armor pieces belonging to 2 different sets…I’m not going to use the rest.

I really like this idea since I rarely buy and use entire sets of armor. Most of the time, I only use 1 or 2 pieces, with 4 being the most I’ve ever equipped on a character. The rest are either stored up for the future, or deleted if I find the parts ugly.

I’d also like this idea. I’ve only bought one armor in the gem store (primeval) and used 3 pieces on two characters… and the other 3 are sitting on the bank, unlikely that I’ve ever going to use it.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

I would be willing to pay 200 gems per piece if parted out. However I also understand if Anet is firmly against breaking sets down to single piece purchases.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.

Has been suggested before and is still a good suggestion.

Dear ANet: This would lead to me spending more money rather than less. (I explained this in another tread.)

10 dollar reskins are absurd, someone will buy them though. Just kinda makes me feel dirty for giving them any money.

I agree with this, I have 3 armor skins sets, and I only ever use the chest, legs and boots(for 2 of them.) The rest are just taking up space in the my bank.

If they were going to sell them separately, they would probably introduce black lion armor tickets, which in the end, would make them cost way more.

Even if they did sell them separately through the gem store, they wouldn’t all be the same price. The chest and legs for example would be something like 400 gems, whereas the boots and gloves would be around 100. Shoulders and helm would be around 200. They could also be a lot worse. Take the toxic glove skins for example, 400 gems. They could easily do that and sell the entire set for 2000+ gems, for non-reskinned sets at least.
