Gliding in Tyria event?
As much as I’ve been double tapping space in Tyria, I think gliding would change the way a few jumping puzzles and the like work. Especially the gentle, sweet deaths that occur from failure.
I would love to be able to glide in Central Tyria, but I can’t even imagine the map-escapes and other weirdness that would ensue.
Although, I don’t have much of an argument for how it could be harmful. It might suck some of the challenge out of certain things, or allow people to get themselves stuck (which could make the game look unpolished,) but I can’t think of any economic or fairness problems. (Allowing gliding in WvW or PvP, would be a more complex question, I think.)
I would enjoy it, but I’ll understand if they keep gliding in the jungle. It’s only a matter of time until I get killed jumping off something in Central Tyria, however.
I know that technically this would likely be very difficult to accomplish due to the maps not originally being designed for this, but in the spirit of not making old content obsolete… Tyria really sucks without gliding.
It’s like having food that’s five star quality, then trying to go back to the local one star restaurant and ‘enjoy’ your meal.
Gliding is so much fun, and I truly hope that ANet will consider bringing it over to the rest of the game because it’s such an amazing feature.
For jumping puzzles they could do a debuff thing that makes gliding unavailable around the jumping puzzle (, like the wvw jp and siege )
And if it’s just a few day event the problems are not as big. since it’s kind of expected :/ just a fun thing to do. Like an April fools thing :p
I like the idea of a debuff preventing gliding around JPs
It’d be awesome to be able to glide in the rest of tyria too…! I’m surprised this thread has so few answers…
Actually I would like to see more layers added to Central Tyria so we can make the most of Glider. Airships or Floating cities, etc.

That of course would be amazing, but I’m afraid it’s unlikely to happen…
They could make jumping puzzles use the new adventure mechanic which would then have the ability to set whatever restrictions they want on movement and skills…
