Guild Halls - any new information about them?
As far as I know, Anet is planning to integrate guild halls in the future, but they are currently not working at it.
Err, could you mention the source where you got that information? As far as I can tell there is no incentive of ANet to implement this..
And should they indeed work on this, then I’m certain it will be implemented together with guild capes..

Thanks for that..
And yeah, you made me curious for input from ANet about this..

As far as we know they are still not being worked on. After so much effort has been spent to get people together in the open world, I’m not sure if Anet would ever implement something that encourages them to hide away somewhere private.
I’ll hazard a guess of “it on the table”

Do you have any source for that?
Besides, I think any Open World should have the possibility to time out in a quiet place.
For the not being worked on, AFIK there’s been nothing mentioned about it since the link above so it’s reasonable to assume that’s still the case.
As for why, there’s no source for it, it’s personal opinion, but seems to logically fit(not saying I agree with it, but there you go )
The last thing I saw from any Official posting was a vague reference at the end of a post from Chris Whiteside during the CDI – Horizontal Progression thread 7 months ago.
and yes I do have a source for that

Admittedly, it was an honerable mention in the post but it is all we have to go on.
@ Shanaeri Rynale: Of course it’s logical. I was assuming more or less the same, but I didn’t know if I overlooked some information, so I asked for a source as a result
@ Yalora Istairiea: Well, that’s at least something! Very vague, as you said, but still…
Hopefully they don’t come up with that rent system mentioned below your linked post :/

take a look at this post about alliances and guild halls
Alliances would be great too, but I would be happy enough to finally get some guild halls. Let’s take this step by step and don’t rush it. I’m convinced Anet has the ability and ressources to create alliances, guild halls and guild pvp, but they have other stuff to do as well.
To be honest, it would be almost enough to me if they finally adressed guild halls as something important in their working plan.
Sorry there is no new information on guild halls. The only information we have about the possibility is in vague allusions to the possibility of maybe at some point there might be guild halls.

To be fair, guild halls almost HAD to go on hold once Megaserver went live, until such time as they can get the universal (server independent) guilds going. Anything they made before then might not be compatible with the universal guilds.
I still hope for good news in upcoming information about the incoming patch, but I don’t expect any.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
I read somewhere that guildhalls and housing is considered content not a feature so don’t expect it in the September feature patch.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
While I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Guild Halls, I really think it would be kind of redundant with how the game’s wvw already functions. I mean if you go to your worlds main wvw keep, it essentially already is sort of like a guild hall in itself. It has shops a trade broker, pretty much everything you could need, and then you can just go right back to where you were when you’re done. So unless they were going to make Guild Halls something completely different to what they were in GW1, then Guild Halls are already in the game more or less if you think about it.

Partly, I agree with you. The keep offers nearly every function I would like to see in a guild hall. All kinds of merchants, trading post, bank etc.
The big difference, however, is the fact that’s more or less in the open world. Yes, I want all the merchants and that stuff, and yes, I can get that in WvW. But I get it in any city, too. You see, why using the keep when I get all these things in other places. What I’d love to see is a place, that only guild mates and maybe friends can enter combined with the features listed above.
