Guild Wars 2 TCG
i hope not . its the sign of a sell out

Hearthstone is pretty fantastic, and far more fun than WoW ever was. At least in my opinion.

It is, however it’s also far more PTW than WoW ever was.
Hearthstone is great. Except when my hand is jank. A GW2 TCG would be pretty amazing imo.

Haven’t had the chance to play yet but hearthstone looks nearly as great as WoW was a disappointment
I’d love to see a GW2 TCG, better yet, I’d love to see one in game, something to do sitting on that arrow cart in WvW or when waiting for a DC to log back in.
In case there’s anybody else who has to look up weird acronyms once in a while, “TCG” means “trading card game”.
The only trading card game I’ve played was Magic: The Gathering. I’m unfamiliar with the other ones mentioned here, and based on my assessment of ANet’s game balancing I would not enjoy a version reliant on even more streamlined mechanics.
trading card games are usually about wizards battling out by summoning creatures and casting spells.
how would a guild wars 2 trading card game work?

Well there is no arguing that point, because it’s pretty much spot on. I would say that’s a problem with any tcg. MTG on the xbox was pretty close to not being though. That didn’t really allow much freedom in card choice though.

A TCG can be put in any setting and work if done well fantasy is just the most common .
TCG with what heroes? Traherne? Scarlet? Highly doubt any sense of TCG since game sequel has no visible lore nor lore direction

If they were going to do it they would have to use GW1 lore as its much deeper

PtW pretty much defines the TCG genre, from its inception.
I would hope that if they created such a thing it would give rewards in GW2 for playing.
I don’t know for real life TCG, but in game TCG ought to be similar to the Final Fantasy mini games. Using monsters (and the rarer character cards) instead of having different card types.
As for details on how to acquire the cards and what not. Beats me. That’s how far that idea went in my head.
I can picture it already.
Permastealth Thief: Instantly kills light armor enemies, cannot be directly attacked, can be moved around on the field whenever you want, enemy cannot see when this is on the field unless it attacks, but at the end of the attackers turn it vanishes again.
The Ranger: 40% weaker than other creatures because it has a pet that is summoned along with it. This pet dies in 1 hit and has a 80% chance to miss.
Berserker’s Boon: Equipped creature gains double damage and can dodge up to 2 normal monster attacks every turn, avoiding all damage. Normal monsters only attack once every 3 turns.
Revive mechanic: If you have at least 1 creature on the field while your opponent has none, revive all your creatures who have died throughout the entire game.
Stack!: All your creatures move to the same slot on the field, become invincible to everything but siege and an equally large “stack”, all monsters are forced to rush at them and are instantly destroyed, player creatures that use AoE are instantly killed via retaliation damage.

No, I would not play a GW2 TCG hahaha. I’ll stick with Magic: The Gathering for now.

IMO ANET has already sold out to NCsoft and their money-making schemes with the gem store and temporary LS garbage and no expected expansions on the horizon.
ANet can’t sell out to NCSOFT because NCSOFT owned them since 2002.
So many think that NCSOFT’s involvement is a recent thing, it’s not.
RIP City of Heroes
Will there be an eSports card that trumps everything else?
