I would love to see new hairstyles with colored streaks in them. I think this would go over insanely well! The “accessory” color could be used to change the color of the streak.

@ OP, great idea. I actually wish more games here in the west would take the route of kicking it up several notches in the realm of character creation.
I recently took a look at some vids of the character creator in this upcoming game called Black Desert and was kind of blown away with some of the things you will be able to do. I’m talking hair alteration like position/ length and making some parts curly or straight. Even more options when it comes to the body. You can even give yours eyes two different effects/colors eg; one eye is blue with some shape in it like a star pupil and the other eye is purple with no shaped pupil, or create a tattoo and place it anywhere on the body in a variety of sizes.
I’m all for focusing on content and what not, but if games like Saints Row can do more than what we can do in actual MMOrpgs, where it seems to me to make the most sense to have these options, then I don’t see why developers step their game up. I know I would appreciate it.

Back on topic, I don’t think GW2 can support that kind of customization, but probably they can still improve something.

They already have several facial tattoo skins. Suppose they could do the same thing with hair and make it dyable? Probably a lot HARDER – there are more hair styles than face styles.

I like this idea a lot. I especially like it because I see no reason that it’s inclusion would upset anyone: if you like a style but don’t like the fact that it comes with streaks, just pick an identical base and streak color. Problem solved.
Anyway, I don’t expect something like this will be included anytime soon, but I would enjoy it if it was.
Also, not really a “solution,” but if you like the idea of hair streaks, you should make a Sylvari if you haven’t already. With glow intensity turned to maximum, most of their hairstyles have “streaks” or “highlights” in the form of glowy regions.
Most of my characters are Sylvari, purely because of the glow option. I love having that second color there, especially with how bright some of them get.
For hair streaks, what if they released some helmets that had custom hairstyles with them? They could be skins that can apply to any armor type and have pigtails in gears or some other random things purely to show how people would try to be stylish, not just tough looking, in Tyria. Then the streaks and hair color would be two of the dye slots and you wouldn’t be stuck with just a couple choices.
They could even have a design contest for this to really get people involved. (I just love seeing the stuff people come up with in design contests >.>)
