Is there any information as to how long this will be unavailable? I can understand it not being a huge priority but personally I’d like to claim my rewards since I recently got my accounts linked together… >.>

I just tried again and it’s still disabled. I’m not going the petulant route as I can still get my score up in the meantime, just curious.

I’m sure they will let us know in the Patch Notes when it is re-enabled.

It’s going to be disabled until they can sort out who is actually eligible to get rewards from it and who is not (and how to remove those points/titles that were given to the wrong people). It better be.

Yeesh, hope it doesn’t take that long. I had quite the adventure getting my accounts linked and it was just kinda deflating to see it disabled. That’s just a personal issue though.

By the way, support was awesome in helping me solve that issue. Can’t hurt to give them some credit here. At least I have a reason to get points now!

I’m finding it annoying as well. there are a lot of skins I don’t have access to.

It shouldn’t be too hard to do it really. Clean wipe of those titles, and then re -link the GW 1 accounts to GW 2. That would give those who actually deserve it the titles/skins.

It isn’t quite that simple. What happens to the reward chests people got?

The simplest solution requires a clean wipe, a relink and a flag on accounts that already received the reward for whatever threshold they hit.

I’m not saying its impossible, or even difficult, but its not quite as easy as a simple reset.

It’s not like it is hard. All they need to do is to run a recheck – after all the original gw1 accounts are still attached. Since entering HoM during bug resulted in immediate client crash, they don’t have to worry about removing unlocked skins, only AP and titles (and those are tied to achievements, and will get automatically revoked alongside those achievements).

Chiming in to add my voice to the tide of disgruntlement. Day before yesterday I finally unlocked a skin I’ve been looking forward to putting on my guardian for quite a long time, and it wasn’t until the vendor kicked me out of the conversation that I remembered it’d been disabled. It’s been two weeks, and there’s clearly still people who want to get their rewards. I know it isn’t going to be top priority to fix, and that you probably don’t have any sort of a timeframe to share with us, but I hope it hasn’t been banished to the “we’ll look at it someday” stack.

Seriously how hard can it be? I’ve unlocked a dozen more things that I cant get atm. I’m still getting the ap and titles though so whats the point in blocking the skins?

People got the achievements through a bug. The skins are blocked so that those can’t get them, before they set back the achievements for those players. You’re just collateral damage.

No offense, but GW2 is out since nearly 3 years. I’m sure you’ll survive it if the skins are blocked for a month or so.

By the way, I’m not sure if it’s really that easy. Does anyone know an example where achievements got taken away from players? I wouldn’t be very surprised if that would actually need a bunch of work to do. Plus, they have to differenciate between bugged achievements and the legitimately earned achievements. I’m sure it’s not that easy to simply remove them for everyone and re-reward them by the linked GW1 account. It could cause quite a few bugs (every coder knows how results can be unexpected. I don’t know the game code, but a few things that could cause problems: Doubled titles, problems with the AP count, problems with HoM connected items/skins/pets, … )

In what way affected? You still get them and they won’t be removed once Anet figures out how to do so. You just have to wait for the fix to grab your HoM skins.

I wasn’t sure whilst there were issues you’d still get the titles if you achieved them during this time in GW1 until the fix. If you do, then great

As someone who knows coding I can imagine that this issue is a major headache to them.

Titles you earned since this bug happened still transfer over without issue. The only thing that’s affected is accessing your skins, minis, and (maybe) Ranger pets.

I don’t know coding either but I don’t think that’s a fix. If skins are already in the wardrobe, it may be a real headache to get them back out. Titles are probably easier. They can probably be toggled off. Achievement points, such as the 500 points for getting to 50/50 in the HoM may be irreversible. If they got an achievement chest with these points and used up the items in it, how do you take them away? iirc, Support has previously said they can’t currently alter information in the Hero panel so that ability has to be either newly made up or let alone. Maybe the Devs can do it, but it’s probably not really set up yet since it’s not available as a tool for Support.

The only current way to remove it all may be to roll the accounts back to the time before the bug, which would remove all progress, items and gold gained since then. That would be punishing people for ANet’s bug so that’s out.

It’s a big mess and imo, may not be completely fixable.

There’s no need to “take back” the items from a used achievement chest.
If someone was at 4300 points and got to 4800 through the bug, he’ll get access to the 4500er chest. After the fix, he’ll be back at 4300 points and his next achievement chest will be rewarded at 5000 points. He got the rewards a little too early, but on the other hand he needs longer til the next one, so it evens out.

If you peruse the Account Support sub-forum, you will learn that linking accounts does not always go smoothly. There seems to be issues quite often, so your particular solution might cause just as many problems as the HoM bug.

I am wondering when the Hall of Monuments rewards will be back up. I was excited when I finally joined guild wars 2, only to be disappointed to find out that the Hall of Monument Rewards that I earned are not even accessible anymore. I got to see it up on the first day I joined then after that it has been down for almost a month. Is there any ETA on when it will be back up? I’d like to at least try out the armor and weapon skins.

Wish I had pulled out at least one of each skin and applied it to something so that they would all be unlocked in my wardrobe.

I returned to the game some months ago and I realized somethings have changed, but I still have my hall of monuments item that takes me there. I zoned in and the first thing I notice is that the pets are gone. Then I talk to the merchant and I get the message “That content has been temporarily disabled. Please try again later.” Tried it on several characters, old and new and I’m at a loss.

They borked the Hall with the last big update and still haven’t fixed it. Apparently anyone who went into it could grab all the rewards regardless of if they played GW1 or not.

iirc, it was bugged so that people who made an char on a particular day got achievement points, titles and items. The HoM was closed until further notice.

did they get to keep the stuff they earned/unlocked due to the bug? (don’t really mind if they did, titles aside, just wish i had gone in to grab a couple of skins myself)

So far, yes. ANet said they are looking into it.

Wish we could get an estimated return date. Since the breaking patch, I’ve gone from 15>22 reward points, bashing my head against GW1.

I think everyone would agree that it’s better to go through a brief period of disabled access rather than allow the acquisition of a whole lot of unearned titles. But of course the best thing would be to get everything aligned so we can kick start the HoM and you can access it.

You’re not alone. I just gained another 2 reward points. Now I’m waiting oon all of the rewards from 16-24. And I think the achievement points will give me a chest (haven’t logged in to GW2 more than too buy some of the new store exclusives since the “patch”).

Since a bunch of people are getting reward points, I guess I could ask this:
Is it still possible to get the multiplayer titles/rewards for the HoM? Or is the GW1 multiplayer too depopulated for that? I do remember playing a couple rounds of multiplayer games in GW1 and it was fun but never did it enough to get anything out of it.

This may be answered elsewhere on the forums, but you guys know how the forum search doesn’t work. Why doesn’t the Hall of Monuments Merchant work? I want to get my stuff from it. When I speak with him, and click on the dialogue option to open the merchant, the dialogue window closes and red text comes on the screen which says “Content Temporarily Disabled. Try Again Later.” This is me trying a couple of weeks later. What is the deal?

It’s temporarily disabled due to a bug where people were getting HoM achievement points without the required points needed from Guild Wars 1. Pets have also been disabled to prevent people getting pets they shouldn’t have.

Is it possible to have a Moderator send me the items I need? If so, I need the full set of Heritage Light Armor.

I highly doubt they will do that. They may not even have that functionality. Have you unlocked the skins in the wardrobe? Reskinning items to HoM skins does not cost any transmutation charges, I believe.

I really wish they would fix this. My brother (who I played GW1 with as our first MMO) FINALLY decided to pick up GW2. Now he wants his guardian to use the fellblade he had unlocked in HoM but can’t because Anet has been twiddling their thumbs on this issue for over a month.

It’ll probably be a while yet until its fixed since it must be low priority, if it ever is. Which is too bad, because I wanted to see his little Asura running around with that giant, black blade that I used for the first three years of GW1 on my warrior since I never got it unlocked in HoM.

That’s why he wants them sent to him. You can’t unlock them until you buy them from the merchant for the first time.

Yep. All the HoM skins are in the wardrobe and cost nothing to use. Like the AP skins.

No one can send you the items. Even if they had the functionality to do so (which they dont), if they sent you the items, everyone needing access to their hom would be clogging up support with requests.

Functionality will return very soon, as soon as the bug is fixed

I am still waiting on this as well. It looks like Gaile posted an update 2 days ago. This must be the go to thread so I’d keep an eye on it.

I can’t say how frustraded I am with this bug… me and my GF were out on gw1 farming 30 pts and when we came back to get our rewards the hall was closed. By now I really don’t give a kitten if other players have the tittle, it’s been 25 days that I own all those rewards and I got nothing… today, another update and not even an eta on when they’re going to fix it… There’s not a better reason to hate a company like I hate anet right now. Spent 30 days playing gw1 and like 100 bucks to get all games for me and my gf for nothing.

And I know that what I say here wont mean nothing… they just don’t care.

I’m waiting on rewards as well. It won’t be a simple fix unfortunately. I don’t think anyone at ArenaNet could have foreseen the Hall of Monuments bugging out. I’m frustrated as well, but Guild Wars is a pretty feebly populated game. ArenaNet is probably trying to work towards a comprehensive fix that cross-checks achievement points and removes titles; not something they’ve had much experience with.

What, pay tell, is a “Rytlok sword”? I think you mean that you would like a Fiery Dragon Sword of your own.
