Guild Wars 2

I’ve a question regarding account linking and the Hall of Monuments.

I only have the base Guild Wars game, and the Nightfall expansion. I wasn’t a really active player back in the day, but according to the Hall of Monuments calculator, I could redeem some heritage armor pieces.

Here is the question: I already linked my GW1 account to my GW2 account. If I purchased Factions and Eye of the North NOW, and made progress in that game, would that gradually unlock further rewards for my Guild Wars 2 account, or is it an one-time thing you get at account creation?

Just play GW1.

If you really think you should play an old game to get some cosmetic items in the new one, you can simply go with the old game and skip the new one anyways.

And yeah, you will get stuff still.

Yes, you can keep unlocking things as you progress in GW, it is not a one-time thing. I’ve been doing it myself. Slooowly working on my 50/50!

Yes you can unlock new points and rewards. Even if you had never owned GW1 before you could buy the game, link your accounts and start earning the rewards.

I never once said that getting the GW2 rewards would be my only reason of playing GW1 again. I just want to fill the gap by getting the rest of the old expansions before returning to that game.

BTW don’t forget that when you get a new title or item to add to the HoM you have to go there and add it manually, then log out of GW1 before it’s added to the calculator and counted in GW2.

I seem to forget one or both steps every single time and spend ages waiting for it to update or wondering why it hasn’t.
