Currently, players not having completed all the monthlys and completing a lot of the dailys prior to the monthly removal and the daily change are at a significant disadvantage to gaining AP right now.

Right now, we’re only able to obtain 10 AP per day, to reach the cap (15k) it will take 5 years from 0. The game hasn’t yet been out for 3 years and we’re already seeing people very close to the daily cap limit (if not already at it) this is due to holidays and monthly caps (not sure if Monthly/daily has been merged yet)

LS1 and old festivals are also locked AP wise. Every halloween and wintersday provides all players with a new set of achievements (the old ones aren’t affected) and everyone gains the new AP. There is no way new players can access those old achievements thus locking them off from a lot of the AP that 18k players have.

So while eventually yes, if a new player completes all the achievements in game (something no player has done since launch) they will eventually reach 30k chests etc, the rate of gaining that AP is currently much slower than it was before.

I personally am at 11k AP (on main account) and I’m struggling to find any way to increase my AP actively. I’ve got some of the PvP Champion titles left, WvW achievements and Some of the Weapon masters and thats all I have left. So realistically for my (as someone who has missed a lot of festivals/LS1) gaining AP above 11k is quite difficult since I am missing 11k worth of dailys/monthlys and have none of the LS1/Festival achievements.

OP do keep in mind that new collections and such are coming with the expansion. Each returning festival offers AP options as well (either thru returned achievements, new ones, or additional dailies). When living story comes back, it should also bring more achievements each chapter.

Hi i am not playing much and play les then a year this game, i dont think that the most players like to wait for 8 years to get a armor skin, and i must say that armor looks very nice, to bad that probely 99,9% of all the players never get it completed before this game end, and probely a new guildwars come’s in a few years or so maybe 2 or 4 year’s.

I will like to buy it when it comes in gem store, and i think allot others also want it, and if the price is the issue, sure make it possible to buy it each part 1000 or even 2000 gems, that also takes allot effort, for me at least.

And i see allot hateful reaction’s while this player only asked something very nice, why rage or trol him?

You can tell why you dont like it without caps or allot !!!!!! or ….. what ever, on a normal way.

I can understand that allot player’s dont wanna reply because all the hate.

For me i want to see that skin in gemstore.

It does not matter how much they want it or how many people want it. It is a reward designed for a specific group of veteran players who’ve played for years and have certainly earned the right to a nice skin to show off how much they’ve done in the game over the years.

It is not for you, it is not intended for you and you will likely never have it. Peoples lack of understanding that certain rewards/skins/content is not designed for them to ever have never ceases to amaze me.

Yes, you want it the gemstore, so you can just credit card your shiny. You just want to take the easy way out because you don’t want to bother spending time (in a game type which is wholly intended to make you waste lots of time) to earn it. Thus completely devaluing the skin.

As more content comes into the game, getting the AP for these skins will become easier and easier. It’s hard now because the game is still young, but that also makes the skin have more meaning for that that have it. Which is a good thing.

I get it, you don’t want to wait, you want it “now.” You don’t have a lot of time to play so earning the gold for say 2000 gems is a lot of work for you. Guess what, I’m in a similar boat. I work all day. I have a family and a home to take care of. I don’t have a kitten ton of time to play, but guess what, I don’t want to see those skins in the store. I want to work towards them and earn them. Then it actually means something, at least to me.

The only thing that should be changed is that you get both skins at he same time. When they were introduced there were only 3 pieces. Now that we have all pieces things have changed significantly. I really like hellfire chest and leggings but they’d be useless since I opted for radiant in the first place.

The fact that AP acquisition has also changed dramatically and it works strongly against people who joined the game in its later life.

Imo, what they should do is revamp them so you can choose from all of the pieces, like the weapon skins. When you get a zenith weapon skin choice, all are there to select one. This would make it easier to get a full set of one type or the particular pieces you want most while not decreasing the AP needed to get all of them.

I am torn. Gating unique skins behind challenging content in order to provide a sense of prestige appeals to me. Gating skins behind tasks such as killing ambient creatures and the like guarantees that they have no prestige (to me) and are valuable solely for their aesthetics. At this stage of the game I am inclined to side with those who have farmed the AP and don’t want others to be able to bypass that effort by swiping a credit card. I would rather have seen the skins not gated behind AP, as AP are currently implemented, in the first place though.

Imo, what they should do is revamp them so you can choose from all of the pieces, like the weapon skins. When you get a zenith weapon skin choice, all are there to select one. I don’t really like that method because then when I’m judging someone as they walk by I assume the worst case I.E you have a zenith weapon, you’ve just hit 1k ap and it’s the first decent skin you’ve gotten.
This way there’s a clear sense of progress, oh they’ve only got the gloves they must be fairly low end. Slightly better with the shoulders, then you’ve an average* player with the standard 3 (gloves,helm,shoulders). Then you move up to the current prestige with boots, chest , legs that they’re really high end players.

Either way I would be against ANY change to the system now, people worked towards goals with the knowledge and expectations of what they would be getting.

*(average active player base player which is not the 4.5million players that the AP leader-board uses for %’s Probably closer to 300k players.)

I can only speak for myself but I’m always in favor of skins gated behind challenges no matter how small and insignificant, the more content you actually have to play the game for the better. Even A-net accepted gems→ gold is in my eyes as bad as buying from a gold farmer back in the day and takes away from the spirit of the game.

As for the AP, I would have liked dailies and monthlies not to have been a thing (zero effort endless reward… well 15k now). I do however support no longer obtainable achievements like S1, seasonal events etc because those players legitimately have a higher veterancy and no matter how much you play now you can’t match that.

No there should be something in game that takes time to get for the dedicated players.

I just wanna say the vieuws of your self is ip logged so will not be counted extra, and if some one type his hile name in caps doesnt say they are all the same player, i like to see my name in caps maybe others also. I know for sure there are lots of players with fullname in caps, i dont care about that you didnt see them from others before.

But not with the exact same spelling errors, such as probely for probably and allot instead of a lot, as well as display name in all caps and the same opinions.

And it is possible to login with one account, make a post, log out, login with a second account and make another post. The forum does not stop this.
