Please let use hide shoulder on outfits. Crystal Savant looks nice, but shoulder part.. except crystals and special effects, just horrible.

There are about 4 outfits I would buy right this minute if we could hide the shoulders. I imagine a lot of other players who buy outfits are in the same boat. C’mon ANet, it can’t take that much dev time and you’ll get a lot of sales and goodwill out of adding this functionality.

Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games.

I would love to be able to hide the pauldrons on outfits. So many of them are over done and ruin the design.

I’d love to see an option to hide the shoulders as well. Keep the same standard for outfits that they do for armor (so if, for example, they add an option in the future to hide armor gloves, they also add the option for outfits).

Unfortunately, seeing as how Anet seems to like to do the minimum required work to get a job done, I’m guessing that most outfits don’t have any material under the shoulder pieces, resulting in them having to spend time fixing every existing outfit (and if you remember the issues with the Monk outfit, it kinda shows how interested Anet is in fixing outfits).

Where are my gem sales? I want gem sales! Nerf EVERYTHING!

I also would buy more of these Gemstore outfits, if there would be an option do hide every part (not only the helmet). I’d like to turn on/off Shoulders, Hands, Shoes too.

Ya, you should be able to have the same hide options as armor. helm, gloves and pauldrons. The new outfit looks nice and tempting to buy until you see the huge eye sore that we don’t seem to have the option to hide. Raiment of Lich is another armor that looks so good, just has the eye sores.(i do have that one)

Why bother letting us hide helms on outfits if we can’t hide the same things as armor?

I would buy this outfit in a heartbeat if there was an option to hide the shoulders. They’re just far too puffy for my liking and turn off the whole outfit for me. So, yes, I support having an option to hide shoulders for outfits.

Maybe I posted here already, but take my +1. Anet, if you want us to like Outfits, at least give them more customizability. Those huge shoulder parts ruin most outfits.

The new outfit especially might be passable without its pauldrons but is utter trash with them.

While I like the Crystal Nomad shoulders in some instances (perfect for my asura mesmer), and think the Ceremonial shoulders help balance the look as it’s not meant as combat armor — for-show armor historically got quite ornate — I like every example you gave and think a toggle for the shoulders to slim down the overall silhouette when desired would be a huge improvement.

pauldrons … overdone

With many of the pauldrons ANet introduced in the base game, they did not overdo. It’s disheartening to see that they are overdoing them more and more as time goes on.

Personally, I’m in favor of any option that allows for further customization of outfits. The current Anet all-or-nothing approach to outfits and the implicit lack of customization is way too heavy-handed for my taste. Since we can’t mix-and-match pieces for outfits, I suppose hiding pieces is the next best thing.
