Anyone think the prices of lodestones will be coming down. Right now there pretty expensive. I know there mainly used for cosmetic items but it would be nice to have a few of those.

Depends on how many people start farming those champions and what the drop rate will be.

Lodestones are priced the way they are largely because of demand. Supply seems to be steady across the world. That equation could change next week.

Farm karma with boosters / buffs and buy up orrian boxes as mentioned here – http://gw2masters.com/gw2-karma-to-gold-trick-new/ – Its a semi-low drop rate but lodestones do pop from them that you can either use or turn on the TP for profit.

I really hope so.

They are already near their lowest point. They are priced much higher months ago and only started to drop when Orr temple chests contained chance for them. Could it possibly get lower with next patch? Yes if the champion’s chest is any good.

I hope so, I sell all mine. I imagine one day I will need to buy some and hope they are cheaper then :P

The only issue is with an increase in demand, if a lot of people assume that Champion drops will make Lodestones and T6 mats common, thus making a Legendary easier to get. I doubt it, though, unless the drop rate from the Champions is VERY low – we will likely get a lot of people farming them.

Lodestone prices already went down. Especially Charged Lodestones, which went down to 2.50g from 3.50g.

ANet I believe already stated that they are working on ways to make lodestones more available. This obviously will lower their individual value by increasing the supply to better meet the demand.

Who knows when that update will be in, but I would bet next week we will probably see more of them come into the market.

Part of it will be in next week with the champion changes. The other part would be MF changes.

@Khisanth I hadnt considered the magic find change. Thats an interesting hypothesis. Are you thinking that when everyone is running around with some level of magic find (as opposed to many running with none) that the number of lodestone drops will increase. That would be nice. I think people would need a significant amount of magic find to have an impact. Say, atleast 50%. It would be nice to get a dev comment. They never did go into detail about how they planned to address the lodestone prices.

I was thinking a bit higher for the MF, like 100%. The other thing is that you can farm with berserker now once the MF becomes account bound so you’ll be killing faster which means more loot rolls.

Well, if you hand me 250 charged lodestones I’ll artificially deflate the market with dummy stock thereby decreasing the overall price.

I’d wait. I don’t think prices will go up, so at worst you’ll still pay the same price a week or two from now that you’d pay today.

Do not waste your karma on those boxes in hopes of getting enough lodestones to make it worth the effort. Not only are they rare, but they’re rare BECAUSE its RNG.

Personally, I would wait until the next update. The whole lodestone aystem is broken and I would find it hard to believe they will not provide a more reliable way to work toward acquiring lodestones. Not to say it will be cheaper, but I believe they will remove the pure RNG aspect. They have already commented about future changes, so now it’s just a matter of how long do you wait…and I would wait a least one more week.
