Highest PvE DPS since patch?
That site is very out of date, and isn’t something that currently is being updated from what I know,
I dont have all the numbers but from what I understand right now it’s
Ele (Gets crazy high with large targets)
Engi (engi and thief being close in single target and Engi pulling ahead in groups)
Thief
Warrior(This and ranger might be flipped)
Ranger
Guard
Mesmer (bare in mind that mesmer has great skills where necro is just damage)
Necro (Close to mesmer dps, trades places with mesmer if the mesmer has to bring lots of support.)

Is Engie still high with the Grenade and Mortar Shot nerf?

Grenade nerf…. you’d have to more specific, since there haven’t been nerfs to the build since the numbers that I know of, the engi was higher with mortar but couldn’t beat a frost bow in short fights anyways.
Something else worth mentioning with engi is while they may out dps a thief, it is harder to do and a thief currently is far better at long skips than engi where stealth is needed generally speaking anyways.

I think it’s:
Engie – broken grenade trait otherwise would be below thief and ele
Thief – single target mind you
Ele
Warrior
Guard
Ranger
Mesmer
Necro
If the grenadier trait is fixed engie would be above warrior probably, might be the same sine warrior buffs.
Ele is highest group DPS. Always has been, and still is.
Thief I think edges ele out in terms of single target DPS but that might of changed with the patch.

Ele damage is insane and everyone pales in comparison to them in terms of damage.
I like all the engi love but you have to think about practicality, while engi has a high potential many (including myself) don’t reach the actual potential. it’s possible, it’s not out of reach, but in a practical sense we drop quite a bit. That said Engi is still high, you can do great damage without perfection, it’s just worth noting that optimal isn’t likely.
Also, an Engi solo beat the Ele solo of bloomhunger, yay reflects
Take a group of mediocre PUGs and the ease of Staff Ele or GS warrior is likely going to win out. In a speed run where everyone is performing near optimal and yes Engi will skyrocket. It’s just not something you should count on being realistic. A good-great engi will be awesome, a mediocre engi vs a mediocre warrior and the warrior will win out. Generally speaking Staff Ele/GS War/DDThief are all pretty easy great damage. The next level would be Guard/Engi for mediocre players.
I say this because I don’t think people should adhere to the possible when PUGing, just the possible when optimizing, and don’t assume anyone will optimize if you don’t know them and how good of a player they are.

While your grain of salt is always healthy, with everything…. really everything.
The OP is actually asking about their relation in speed clear comps, where you don’t have to treat everyone like an npc outside of basic interaction.

You forgot ranger Jerus, or is pressing 5 and 2 on long bow and swaping to auto with a sword to hard? Snark level aside for rangers, If you wana see big numbers easily staff ele is the way to go, followed by thief (if you want to learn how to stealth), and GS camping warrior (not good personal DPS but really good might stacking).

engi without broken grenades is #2.

Last I checked on warrior Gs camp has always been their best overall dps and the only reason in pve, for using Axe/mace on swap was for the group wide buff via the vuln it would generate to make up for the loss of dps and might from swap. Warrior still has pretty good personal dps all things considered, without looking it up I want to say Nike(Dnt for those who don’t know) posted something of a ~100k Gs 2 in a run so ya know around 2/3 of a Icebow 4.
Oh and ranger meta has shifted away from the longbow in favor of Gs Sw/a atm so no more lb busts, at least not in most cases, it’s not bad just there are better things atm.

The reflects helped, which is something you can’t do on most bosses…
More importantly, he was just exploiting the grenade bug. That’s not a legit kill.
The same engi did 4:54 pre-patch before the grenades were bugged.

This.
Though with the new trait system…. You can’t fully trait into greatsword camp dps the way you used to …. and you are almost encouraged to run a hybrid gs + 2h build given the current trait selection.

:D what can I say, was just a bit tired of spreadsheet info last night. It’s all well and good but without a bit of reason applied it’s not very meaningful.
The best for now is cond engi.
Then melee ele, provided that he attacks more than trying to survive.
LB ranger after, provided that the pet is alive and able to attack.
Then melee thief (pistol-whip build is still good, btw).
GS mesmer. I like mesmer with mantras in PvE. Feel superior.
Staff ele (fire\arcane glass canon)
Cond war (if skillfully use both bow and sword)
Bers guardian (excluding the bug with symbols)
Power engi.
Power war (not that good as many think)
Power necro.
Cond mesmer.
Cond ranger.
Cond ele (with signets, scepter, etc)
Cond necro (excluding epidemic)
Cond guardian (still it seems poor in AOE)

I’m not sure why but you list seems a little questionable.

Haha. Thanks for the laughs. You lost me at LB ranger and ‘pistol whip’ thief.
According to most of the posts, Mesmers are really low. :-\
What is the disparity like from Ele at the top compared to Mesmer near the bottom?

Mesmer’s rely a lot on reflect’s to keep up with the highest dps numbers. Fortunately, there are a lot of mobs who are susceptible to it (but not all). Mesmer’s need not worry though, slow is stupidly powerful and for those who haven;t checked the chronomancer line, mesmers can cast slow on crit -.-. On top of that, they will have access to alacrity and still have time warp and quickness love. Chronomancer’s support skills might even top Guardians in HoT. World Bosses like TT are a joke with slow on, so easy to dodge (I mean walk out of) their big hits but more importantly, it keeps them in phases longer = less attack = more dps time.
