i like the acended items but i dnt like the way u have to get them. i have rings on 2 of my chars even though only 1 plays fractals. i have starage filling up with rings i get from dailys and pristine relic. wth am i suppose to do with all those relics if you keep putting all the new stuff at teh laurel vendor. i am also in a smaller guild and its hard to get lots of people on at one time to do the guild missions. so if im not on i miss out so then im forced to have to wait till i get the amount of laurels i need and grind away some ecto or gold just to advance a bit further in fractals.

Well its what their manifesto stated, something that attracted a large number of people to the game, and in most mmos you can get it quickly if you’re prepared to grind for it. As some have said recently anet have done the whole vertical progression thing really badly.

They said that stats wouldn’t be what you spend 1000s of hours grinding for skins are!!!!!!!!! Why is everyone forgetting this?

Want these accessories without grinding dailies for 5 weeks + 50 ectos?

Not true. You should be able to do at least tier 1 and get your 2 guild thingies/week. (more if you can unlock the other stuff).

I have to agree. This makes little sense as far as gear. Why in the world would I grind for gear (laurels) for literally a year? By the time I get it all, if I was lucky, I can almost guarantee something better will come out as far as stats within the gear.

Granted, I enjoy doing the dailies and monthlies, but this gave me Molten Core flashbacks. I was really hoping ANet wouldn’t go down this road. Maybe with all the negative views on it they’ll change their minds. And, with Elder Scrolls looming in the future, they better decide fast.

The MMO crowd is fickle.

But, on the plus side, there is the tonic and those minis.

Why is there no cleric ascended back piece? :<

I believe you get that from the guild armorer.

You don’t. Backpieces were not updated.

I’m just going to wait until they start dropping from mobs.

Imagine 6-12+ months from now , when ascended gear will be all out and where it will make a significant difference in stats. If they don’t change the pace(i.e 6 weeks for an accessory?? Will ascended armor/weapon as difficult to get?), I feel for the new players who will start in a year. They will have so much to catch up, but they are gated in time, so it might be impossible.

I hope that i’m wrong.

The only grind I see is the one you put on yourself. You can get your ecto from pent/shelt runs and Plinx over and over again. Ill get mine from fractals, the rehauled AC, and another dungeon or two.

Your way is grind. My way is fun and lends progress to multiple goals. Perception vs. reality is a kitten.

If you do pve. I dont, I only have done 1 fractal and 1 dungeon and I hated both of them. So, it is not possible for me to get a legendary outside of buying gems and converting to gold.

This is obviously a faked SS. You can’t even HAVE 75 laurels yet, not for quite a while actually. Plus Ecto’s aren’t a currency, I highly doubt they would make them into one as they are already used for too many things as it is.

You realize that this pic must have been taken on a test server, therefore they might as well have a million laurels over there already? Beside, ectos are a currency right now, they are an important part in just about any “luxury” item recipe.

Ectos have been a currency ever since someone maxed out the gold in a transaction in gw1.

People should be grateful, ectos seem to be less of a hot commodity here than in GW1.

lol, when your players call “faked screenshot” after looking at it once, you know something has gone horribly awry…. Better get my wallet out to join a guild on a non dead server or else…

Nah, I see literally no reason to ever return to this game, it’s like the dev’s been captured by body snatchers or are being held at gunpoint somewhere in a dingy bunker somewhere and forced to sign papers which allow these changes… either that or full frontal lobotomies have been introduced as a new part of the company’s NDA policy with their partners… these have no business having stats… none of them do and the further into this horrible abyss of ascended sillyness they go, the more it becomes apparent.

Clearly that way to grind ascended items is too far away from the spirit of GW1 where there were only skins to grind. I have already grinded in fractal for few weeks, done my daily etc i will not spend more time to grind for ascended gears. Seriously, more than 2 months for 2 earings, no problem dear devs I have 3 specs and gears on my main, and two 80 rerolls… one year of grind is just what i have expected!
For me there will be no more PvE and WvW where gears matter and only sPvP, thx again.

Moreover, at the beginning of the game there was a good idea: the karma; we could earn karma from different way (event, donjon, wvw) and spend it in what we need (exotic armor, ascended gear) but instead each new patch bring us a new kind of token. The number of currency we have tend to be really funny: gold, gem, karma, donjon tokens, fractal token, daily fractal token, wvw token, laurier, ecto, guild mission token and glory…

Clearly you were tricked, like the rest of us. Sadly you gota either tolerate it or stop trying for it. Too bad the game is so much different then the game we all read about for years.

Right now is not a huge deal (i can own dudes with ascendeds in wvw because the difference is just some stat points), but when we have full ascended, with weapons and armor, i will need to farm 3 years for my 3 mains (yea, i dont have a main) or i will die often to the other wvw full ascended dudes.

Guess i will need to play just one class/build.

I’ve picked up 2 laurels and 3 ectos in the last 2 weeks of “playing the game”.

It’s a kitten terrible grind.

It’s a shame ANet’s gone down the route of gearflation.
